Since the outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 in late 2019, the cumulative number of confirmed cases worldwide has surpassed 778 million, and the number of deaths has exceeded 7 million, posing a significant threat to human life and health while inflicting enormous losses on the global economy. At the stage where sequential immunization is recommended, there is a pressing demand for mRNA vaccines that can be rapidly adapted to new sequences, are easy to industrialize, and exhibit high safety and effectiveness. We developed a lipid nanoparticle (LNP) system, designated as WNP, which facilitates essentially in situ expression at the injection site and results in lower levels of pro-inflammatory factors in the liver, thus enhancing its safety compared to liver-targeted alternatives.

Cancer remains the foremost cause of mortality globally, characterized by un-controlled cellular proliferation driven by oncogenic mutations and other factors. These mutations disrupt cellular homeostasis, leading to a spectrum of adverse physiological responses. A key feature of cellular metabolism in cancer is the Warburg effect, in which cancer cells preferentially rely on glycolysis for ATP production, even in the presence of oxygen, to meet their elevated metabolic demands.

DHYZ, a traditional Chinese herbal formula, has shown significant efficacy in restoring neurological function in ischemic regions of the brain, but its potential for improving poststroke cognitive impairment remains underdeveloped. In this study, the middle cerebral artery occlusion/reperfusion (MCAO/R) model was used to reproduce the pathological process of ischemic stroke in humans.

Methods: A total of 60 patients undergoing PAE in the Interventional Therapy Department of General Hospital of Eastern Theater Command from May 2024 to January 2025 were selected by convenience sampling method and randomly divided into the intervention group and the control group, with 30 patients in each group. The control group received traditional pain management of nursing.
Lung cancer is a common malignancy that poses risks to human health and quality of life. The primary treatment options currently available include surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. However, the aggressive metastatic nature of the disease combined with the development of drug and radiation resistance results in suboptimal survival outcomes.

We applied the multimodal single cell sequencing platform ExCITE-seq to define the colonic cellular composition and transcriptome of LS carriers with and without a history of CRC compared with general population controls. Our analysis revealed widespread remodeling in LS that included striking expansion of epithelial stem and progenitor cells, and loss of fibroblast populations.

Dynamic graph representation learning has garnered increasing attention since dynamic graphs can accurately reflect the changes and evolutionary processes in the real world. Existing approaches typically train a fixed model to capture temporal patterns and then utilize the fixed model to infer future evolution. They assume that the dynamic graph evolves with the same law over time.

This work reports a one-pot synthesized Pt-Fe-Ni-Mo-Co high-entropy alloy catalyst supported on Ketjen Black (HEA@KB) featuring stacked nanoparticles. By systematically tuning the iron coordination, the optimized HEA@KB demonstrates outstanding HER activity with low overpotentials of 12.

Background: The apolipoprotein E (ApoE) ε4 allele and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are independent risk factors for Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most prevalent neurodegenerative disorder in the elderly. The T2DM patients carrying the ApoE ε4 allele exhibit heightened activation of platelet glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β), a key downstream kinase in the insulin signaling pathway, along with more severe cognitive deficits. This observation suggests an intrinsic link between ApoE ε4, GSK-3β, and cognitive dysfunction.

ARPC1B cancer stem cells (CSCs) in pancreatic cancer are identified as a subpopulation resistant to gemcitabine. In our study, drug repositioning, molecular docking, and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) technique jointly revealed that CK-636 can directly target ARPC1B protein with high affinity. In vitro cytotoxicity, ex vivo organoid cultures, in vivo xenograft and orthotopic gemcitabine-resistant pancreatic cancer model demonstrated that combination therapy of gemcitabine plus CK-636 showed a superior anti-tumor effect compared with gemcitabine monotherapy.

However, the sluggish redox kinetics from the critical conversion of soluble long-chain lithium polysulfide to solid-state LiS remains a fundamental challenge. Herein, hierarchical porous nitrogen-doped carbon frameworks with asymmetric ZnCo dual-atom pairs (Zn-Co/NC) were successfully constructed using biomass-derived porous carbon as structural matrix through in situ growth and assisted pyrolysis strategy.

Despite the clinical significance of many nonenveloped viruses, the molecular mechanisms of their internalization and membrane penetration are not well understood. Rotaviruses (RVs) are nonenveloped double-stranded RNA viruses and the leading cause of severe dehydrating diarrhea in infants and young children. We identified fatty acid 2-hydroxylase (encoded by ) in the fatty acid 2-hydroxylation pathway as a proviral gene that supports RV infection.

Metabolic reprogramming, notably alterations in the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, has emerged as a hallmark of cancer that supports tumor growth and metastasis. Despite the TCA cycle being a classical central metabolic pathway, further exploration is needed to fully elucidate the intricate manifestations and contributory mechanisms of TCA cycle rewiring in colorectal carcinogenesis. Herein, we identified a splicing isoform of citrate synthase (CS), CS-ΔEx4, and unveiled its role in TCA cycle dysregulation in colorectal cancer (CRC).

Accurate strain monitoring in environments with coexisting mechanical deformation and temperature fluctuations─such as solid rocket propellants, battery enclosures, and human ligaments─remains a longstanding challenge for flexible electronics. Conventional strain sensors suffer from significant thermal drift due to the intrinsic temperature dependence of their sensing materials, limiting their reliability in wireless and implantable applications. Here, we report an intrinsically temperature-insensitive, highly sensitive, wireless flexible strain sensor based on near-field communication technology.

Despite its promise, it is ambiguous whether this strategy can improve the stability of devices under rigorous conditions, such as light soaking and thermal aging. A critical issue is whether the interface is robust in structure and morphology under light illumination.

This study reports the synthesis and characterization of an injectable nano-hydrogel composite (m@NPs-HG) based on selenium nanoparticles (Se NPs) and carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) nanoparticles for enhanced cancer therapy. Selenium nanoparticles were stabilized using CMCS to form copper selenide nanoparticles (CSe NPs), while doxorubicin (DOX)-loaded CMCS nanoparticles (CD NPs) were encapsulated within cancer cell membranes to generate biomimetic nanoparticles (m@NPs). Subsequently, CSe NPs and m@NPs were integrated into a hydrogel via crosslinking with CuCl, resulting in the formation of m@NPs-HG.
