Helical nanographenes (NGs) play a crucial role in the development of chiral nanomaterials due to their distinctive optoelectronic and chiroptical properties. Herein, we report the efficient synthesis of two unprecedented azulene-embedded asymmetric triple helical NGs ( and ) with controllable helicene subunit lengths and π-extension. The crystallographic analysis confirms their highly twisted and asymmetric geometries.

Ozone (O) is a primary pollutant affecting air quality in China, whose formation rate was non-linearly based on volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and nitrogen oxides (NOx). A comprehensive understanding of the key drivers governing O formation and its sensitivity to precursor variations presents a persistent research challenge, stemming from the complex interplay of underlying photochemistry, meteorology, and topography. To address this knowledge gap, we conducted synchronous measurements of O and its precursors at both an urban (JPU) and a mountain (LM) site in a typical city in eastern China, enabling concurrent evaluation of O formation sensitivity and diagnostic analysis of its underlying mechanisms.

Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam.), a crucial economic crop in tropical regions, has recently been devastated by a novel gummosis disease in Hainan and Yunnan Provinces of China. This gummosis primarily affects the stems and branches of jackfruit, causing gum exudation, bark cracking, and plant death, which severely threatens the sustainable development of the industry.

Lemon is widely valued for its bioactive components and unique flavor, which are influenced by diverse volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This study implemented flavoromics, a comprehensive profiling of flavor, combining non-volatile flavor with E-nose, HS-SPME-GC--MS, HS-GC-IMS, relative odor activity value (ROAV), and multivariate statistical analysis to systematically characterize the aroma profiles of five lemon varieties (Rough lemon, Key lime, Eureka lemon, Tahiti lime, and Rosso lemon). A total of 44 and 50 VOCs were identified by HS-SPME-GC-MS and HS-GC-IMS, respectively.

Lithium‑sulfur (LiS) batteries have recently attracted ever-increasing attention owing to their ultrahigh specific energy and substantial cost benefits of sulfur. However, the sluggish redox kinetics from the critical conversion of soluble long-chain lithium polysulfide to solid-state LiS remains a fundamental challenge. Herein, hierarchical porous nitrogen-doped carbon frameworks with asymmetric ZnCo dual-atom pairs (Zn-Co/NC) were successfully constructed using biomass-derived porous carbon as structural matrix through in situ growth and assisted pyrolysis strategy.

An electrochemical immunosensor was successfully developed for evaluating traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)-induced cardiac toxicity by immobilizing heart-type fatty acid-binding protein (HFABP)-specific antibodies on an electrode surface modified with chitosan (CS)-functionalized metal-organic framework ZIF-8 and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). Leveraging the excellent biocompatibility of AuNPs, the excellent stability and high surface area of ZIF-8, along with the strong specific recognition capability of HFABP antibodies, the sensor demonstrated superior performance. Under optimized experimental conditions, it achieved an ultra-low detection limit of 7.

Metastable hydrates are widely distributed in shallow deep-sea sediments, posing significant risks to the long-term stability of offshore foundation structures. Unveiling the weakening mechanisms at the hydrate-bearing sediment-structure interface is crucial for establishing a theoretical framework for the safe design of deep-sea structures. A high-pressure (up to 12.

Background: Accurate subtyping and risk stratification are imperative for prognostication and clinical decision-making in small cell lung cancer (SCLC). However, traditional molecular subtyping is resource-intensive and challenging to translate into clinical practice.

Methods: A total of 517 SCLC patients and their corresponding hematoxylin and eosin (H&E)-stained whole slide images (WSIs) from three independent medical institutions were analyzed.

Previous studies suggest a dysregulation of the inhibitory γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and the excitatory glutamate/glutamine (Glx) neurotransmitter systems in people living with chronic pain. Here, we test this hypothesis in people with HIV (PWH) on stable antiretroviral therapy, either with or without neuropathic pain (PWHpain and PWHnopain, respectively), and people without HIV and pain (Ctrl). Fourteen PWHpain (age, mean ± SD: 59 ± 6.

Single-pixel imaging is emerging as a promising alternative to traditional focal plane array technologies, offering advantages in compactness and cost-effectiveness. However, the lack of solar-blind photodetectors combining fast-response and high-sensitivity has constrained their application in the deep ultraviolet spectrum. This work introduces a self-powered solar-blind photodetector based on a heterostructure comprising a GaO photosensitive layer, an AlN barrier layer, and an N-polar AlGaN:Si contact layer.

Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is an aggressive malignancy with limited treatment options, especially after failure of initial therapy. Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and anti-angiogenic agents have emerged as promising options for relapsed SCLC. This observational study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of ICIs plus anti-angiogenic therapy for relapsed SCLC patients, and to identify potential prognostic indicators.

The precise, non-destructive monitoring of fish length and weight is a core technology for advancing intelligent aquaculture. However, this field faces dual challenges: traditional contact-based measurements induce stress and yield loss. In addition, existing computer vision methods are hindered by prediction biases from imbalanced data and the deployment bottleneck of balancing high accuracy with model lightweighting.

Fish are a vital aquatic resource worldwide, and the sustainable development of aquaculture is essential for global food security and economic growth. However, the high incidence of fish diseases in complex aquaculture environments significantly hampers sustainability, and traditional manual diagnosis methods are inefficient and often inaccurate. To address the challenges of small-lesion detection, lesion area size and morphological variation, and background complexity, we propose YOLO-TPS, a high-precision fish-disease detection model based on an improved YOLOv11n architecture.

The efficacy, safety and ideal treatment duration of an adjuvant epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI) for patients with resected EGFR-mutated non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) were not known until 2014, when this study was initiated. In this phase 3 ICTAN trial (GASTO1002, NCT01996098), patients with completely resected, EGFR-mutated, stage II-IIIA NSCLC after adjuvant chemotherapy were assigned in a 1:1:1 ratio to receive icotinib (125 mg, three times daily) for 12 months, to receive icotinib for 6 months, or to undergo observation. The primary endpoint was disease-free survival (DFS).

This study aims to optimize bionic hydrofoil propulsion performance and establish design guidelines for efficient transmission mechanisms by comparing three mechanisms (crank-slider, cylindrical cam, and synchronous belt drive). Through 3D modeling, virtual assembly, and ADAMS simulations, dynamic responses of slider displacement and driving force/torque were obtained, revealing that the crank-slider consumes the least energy, followed by the cylindrical cam, with the synchronous belt being the most energy-intensive. Further CFD analysis demonstrated that while the crank-slider generates drag intermittently, the cylindrical cam and synchronous belt sustain continuous thrust.
