LP-98 is a lipopeptide HIV fusion inhibitor showing strong treatment and pre-exposure prophylaxis efficacies in non-human primates. In this study, we further characterized its pharmacokinetics, long-lasting antiviral activity, and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) efficacy using 62 macaques. In cynomolgus macaques, LP-98 achieved high concentrations (C) with a half-life (T) of ∼31 h, and sustained an effective therapeutic concentration for two weeks post-injection.

How chemotherapy subjugates the cellular crosstalk in the tumour microenvironment to cause chemoresistance remains to be defined. Here we find chemotherapy enables immunosuppressive SDF1 endothelial niche to evade immunosurveillance in ovarian and breast cancers.

Emerging evidence implicates peroxiredoxin 3 (PRDX3), a mitochondrial peroxidase, as a critical regulator of redox homeostasis and mitochondrial integrity. Given its role in modulating cell death through mitochondrial quality control, we investigated the therapeutic potential of targeting PRDX3 in NPC.

Oral direct factor Xa (FXa) inhibitors are commonly used anticoagulants after arthroplasty; however, they have a high risk of local bleeding and hematoma formation, which are significant triggers for HO formation. To our knowledge, there is no evidence regarding whether FXa inhibitors will increase HO incidence following hip arthroplasty.

The pathogenesis of AKI is highly complex and heterogeneous, primarily attributed to metabolic disturbances arising from the disease itself and the administration of medications related to treatment. In recent years, AKI in cancer patients is highly concerned.

Objective: To investigate the pharmacological mechanism of Compound Xuanju Capsule in the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) by using network pharmacology and molecular docking technology.
Methods: The active ingredients and targets of Compound Xuanju Capsule were screened using Traditional Chinese Medicine Systematic Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform (TCMSP). TTD, OMIM, DrugBank and GeneCards databases were used to obtain genes related to ED, and the union of the results was taken as the disease genes of ED.
Solar-driven interfacial evaporation (SDIE) is an emerging eco-friendly and low-carbon technology and has been widely studied in the field of photothermal applications in recent years. With the attention and development of SDIE in innovation fields, new strategies, structures, and typical materials are gradually being developed and applied. Therefore, it is important to report on these latest developments.

The advent of electronic storage of medical records and the internet has led to an increase in the use of online medical records, thereby enhancing doctor-patient communication and facilitating medical treatment. Based on demographic and personal behavioral characteristics from the National Cancer Institute's 2019-2020 National Trends in Health Information Survey data, this study explored the characteristics and factors influencing the frequent use of online medical records and compared them with those that do not. By combining traditional statistical tests and two machine learning algorithms, eight variables were identified as key variables in the frequent use of online medical records.

Method: PCa patients who underwent LRP in Beijing Chaoyang Hospital from January 2017 to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Clinicopathological data and blood indicators, including the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR), red blood cell distribution width (RDW), prognosis nutritional index were compared between non-recurrence and recurrence groups.

Objective: This study primarily aimed to investigate human papillomavirus (HPV) infection in males and to evaluate its effect on semen parameters, fertility and partner HPV infection status.
Methods: A total of 624 men who visited the West China Second Hospital of Sichuan University between October 1, 2019, and September 30, 2023, were included. HPV DNA was detected in exfoliated cells from the male genitalia using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and reverse membrane hybridization to analyze the relationship between HPV infection and semen parameters.

Achieving uniform perovskite thin films via inkjet printing remains a significant challenge due to the pervasive coffee-ring effect. Here, we present a solute engineering strategy that incorporates shape-anisotropic perovskite nanorods into a single-solvent ink formulation, effectively suppressing coffee-ring formation and yielding ultraflat films with an average roughness (Ra) as low as 0.226 nm.

The mechanism of the common occurrence of anemia among patients with bone metastasis remains poorly understood. Here, we show that a specialized population of VCAM1CD163CCR3 macrophages, normally essential for erythropoiesis by transporting iron to erythroblasts, are highly enriched in the bone metastatic niche in mouse models.

Acute lung injury significantly contributes to mortality in bacterial sepsis due to lung endothelial barrier destruction, leading to protein-rich lung edema, an influx of proinflammatory leukocytes, and persistent hypoxemia. CTRP3, an adipokine, reduces endothelial adhesion molecules Vcam-1 and Icam-1 and inhibits LPS-induced monocytic adhesion, highlighting its anti-inflammatory effects. This study investigates CTRP3's protective role in sepsis-induced acute lung injury, revealing reduced CTRP3 expression during sepsis, which worsens endothelial dysfunction.

The tracking control problem for strict-feedback systems with unknown dynamics has been extensively studied. However, most existing control approaches require online approximation models and associated a priori assumptions. In order to avoid the necessity of deriving online models, this article proposes a data-driven backstepping control (DBC) approach for a class of strict-feedback systems with unknown dynamics.
