Lanthanide-based polyhedral clusters are of great interest due to their unique geometries and functional properties, but their controlled synthesis remains a major challenge. Here, we report a nested three-shell cluster, [GdNi(MeIDA)(OH)(CO) (HO)]·(ClO)·(HO) (GdNi, HMeIDA = N-Methyliminodiacetic acid), achieved by using urea as a slow-release carbonate source to direct the formation of a dodecahedral inner shell. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction reveals a unique Gd@Gd@Ni arrangement, with the innermost Gd forming a Platonic dodecahedron templated by carbonate.

Employing antioxidant nanozymes to eliminate reactive oxygen species (ROS) is a promising strategy for alleviating oxidative stress. However, most current nanozymes struggle to balance catalytic efficacy with biosafety, limiting their clinical applicability. In this study, we introduce a novel platform: DNA nanoribbon-templated copper nanoclusters (DNR/Cu NCs), which harness dual antioxidative mechanisms (direct ROS scavenging and activation of nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (NRF2)/heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) pathway) to synergistically mitigate oxidative stress.

The forthcoming sixth-generation and beyond wireless networks are poised to operate across an expansive frequency range-from microwave, millimetre wave to terahertz bands-to support ubiquitous connectivity in diverse application scenarios. This necessitates a one-size-fits-all hardware solution that can be adaptively reconfigured within this wide spectrum to support full-band coverage and dynamic spectrum management. However, existing electrical or photonic-assisted solutions face a lot of challenges in meeting this demand because of the limited bandwidths of the devices and the intrinsically rigid nature of system architectures.

We propose a laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) quantitative prediction algorithm based on residual compensation that can effectively reduce the mean absolute error of prediction (MAEP) and mean relative error of prediction (MREP) by incorporating environmental and sample parameters into the prediction model. A 10-fold cross-validation of the residual compensation model based on four common models, support vector machine regression (SVR), partial least squares regression (PLSR), random forest regression (RFR), and K-nearest neighbor regression (KNNR), was applied to test the aluminum alloy samples. After testing on 10 elements, MAEP and MREP were reduced by an average of 51.

Three-dimensional (3D) covalent organic frameworks (COFs) represent promising photocatalytic platforms with accessible active sites, yet their development faces challenges in terms of structural diversity and synthetic complexity. Herein, a robust 3D metalloporphyrin COF with topology and 2-fold interpenetration is achieved by using high-connectivity metalloporphyrin, and different metal centers within the porphyrin units of 3D COFs lead to intriguing structural variations. Particularly, the 3D cobalt-porphyrin-based COF achieves efficient photocatalytic CO-to-CO conversion with a rate of 21 251.

Vehicle re-identification (Re-ID) has become a challenging retrieval task due to the high inter-class similarity and low intra-class similarity among vehicles. To address this challenge, the self-attention mechanism has been extensively studied and applied, demonstrating its effectiveness in capturing long-range dependencies in vehicle Re-ID. Traditional spatial self-attention and channel self-attention assign different weights to each node (position/channel) based on pairwise dependencies at a global scale to model long-term dependencies, but this approach is not only computationally complex but also unable to fully mine refined features.
