Metastable hydrates are widely distributed in shallow deep-sea sediments, posing significant risks to the long-term stability of offshore foundation structures. Unveiling the weakening mechanisms at the hydrate-bearing sediment-structure interface is crucial for establishing a theoretical framework for the safe design of deep-sea structures. A high-pressure (up to 12.

Liver kinase B1 (LKB1/STK11) is a key tumor suppressor that regulates cellular metabolism, epigenetic states, and multiple signaling pathways in prostate cancer (PCa). Recent studies reveal that both genetic and non-genetic LKB1 loss drives metabolic reprogramming, lineage plasticity, and treatment resistance, mainly through dysregulation of the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK)/mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR), signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3), and Hedgehog (Hh) pathways. This review summarizes current evidence on LKB1-centered networks in PCa, highlighting the potential link between LKB1 inactivation, epigenetic remodeling, and aggressive tumor phenotypes.

Herein, tungsten boride (WB), serving as a co-catalyst, can effectively overcome the inherent drawback of oxidation reactions. The WB/Fe(III)/PI system exhibited different removal efficiencies toward sulfisoxazole (SIZ) under varying PI concentrations.

The Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (KRAS) mutation is one of the most prevalent activating alterations in cancer. It indicates a poor overall prognosis due to its highly invasive nature. Although several KRAS inhibitors have been developed in recent years, a significant clinical challenge has emerged as a substantial proportion of patients eventually develop resistance to these therapies.

Background And Objective: Combining iterative optimization algorithms with deep neural networks, the deep unfolding method has presented great potential for accelerated Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) reconstruction. The mainstream paradigm for deep unfolding methods is to apply the data fidelity term to the reconstructed k-space and the deep regularizer to the reconstructed image. However, this paradigm has the following limitations: (1) The traditional data fidelity term corrects only the data at sampled locations in k-space, leaving the data at unsampled locations outdated, which disrupts k-space self-consistency.

Membrane separation technology is widely used in the treatment of oily wastewater because of its advantages such as green and high efficiency. However, after a long period of operation, the contamination resistance of conventional membranes decreases significantly and the apertures are easily clogged by oil droplets. In this study, a stable superhydrophilic micro/nano protein-polyphenol network structure was constructed on the surface of a hydrophobic PVDF membrane using whey protein (WPC) and proanthocyanidin (PC) without the addition of external particles in conjunction with the classical Cassie-Baxter model of wettability.

Pancreatic neoplasms are mainly classified as pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms, and pancreatic cystic neoplasms. As a three-dimensional in vitro culture model, organoid technology can faithfully mimic the tissue structure, cell types, and tumor microenvironment, providing an innovative tool for pancreatic neoplasm research. This review systematically summarizes the application progress and challenges of organoid technology in pancreatic neoplasms research.

Objective: To evaluate the safety and efficiency of China-made Toumai Robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP).
Methods: This study included 40 cases of PCa treated from January 2023 to May 2023 by robot-assisted LRP with preservation of the bladder neck and maximal functional urethral length, 15 cases with the assistance of Toumai Robot (the TMR group) and the other 25 with the assistance of da Vinci Robot as controls (the DVR group). We recorded the docking time, laparoscopic surgery time, vesico-urethral anastomosis time, intraoperative blood loss and postoperative urinary continence, and compared them between the two groups.

Designing specific electroactive sites and modulating their local microenvironments of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) toward electrochemical CO reduction (ECR) have received increasing attention. However, the underlying impact of the change in intramolecular electron-transfer capability, caused by the tuning in electronic state of active sites, on the redox-mediated catalytic process still remains inadequately understood. In this work, we constructed a metalloporphyrin-based COF as the isomer of the representative COF-367-Co, with an identical chemical composition but a reversed imine-linkage orientation via Schiff-base condensation reaction using [meso-tetrakis(4-formylphenyl)porphyrin]cobalt (CoTFPP) and Benzidine (BD) as the precursors, denoted as CoTFPP-BD-COF, to exclusively investigate the linkage orientation as an individual variable for enhanced electron transmission efficiency toward ECR.

We collected 96 patients who received dual immunotherapy between January 2019 and June 2024, in a 1:1:1 ratio based on PD-L1 expression levels of negative (<1%), medium (1% ≤ PD-L1 ≤ 49%), and high (PD-L1 ≥ 50%). This study evaluates the efficacy and safety of dual immunotherapy in patients with advanced NSCLC, stratified by PD-L1 expression levels. Among the 96 patients, the objective response rate (ORR) was 37.

This study investigated the effects of fermented leaves (ZSLs) on growth performance, meat quality, and sensory attributes in Sanhuang chickens. Three hundred one-day-old Sanhuang chickens were randomly divided into five groups and reared for 70 days: NC (control, basal diet), NF (6% unfermented ZSLs), LDG (3% fermented ZSLs), MDG (6% fermented ZSLs), and HDG (9% fermented ZSLs).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFibrinogen is a vital biomarker for coagulation disorders, with reduced levels increasing bleeding risk and mortality, requiring rapid detection for early diagnosis. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is commonly employed in clinical environments; however, its prolonged processing duration and insufficient sensitivity hinder its utility for swift diagnostics. We addressed these limitations by creating a dual-antibody sandwich immunoassay that employs upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) and magnetic beads (MBs) for the precise and sensitive detection of fibrinogen.

However, the clinical application of unipolar low-voltage areas (Uni-LVAs) in atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation is limited, largely because of the absence of a well established voltage threshold. In this study we aimed to: (1) define the threshold for Uni-LVA in the left atrium (LA); and (2) investigate the association between Uni-LVA burden and ablation outcomes in a prospective AF cohort.

Specific and sensitive DNA hybridization plays a key role in biotechnology, nanotechnology, and medical technology. However, traditional DNA hybridization-based strategies often require careful tuning of the binding affinity of the probe to attain a trade-off between specificity and sensitivity. Herein, we proposed energy barrier-gated dynamic selectivity to overcome this limitation.
