Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) are typically constrained to operate below 200 °C due to the thermionic emission effect and material degradation at high temperatures. Herein, high-temperature-resistant fluorinated polyimide nanofibers (4,4'-(hexafluoroisopropylidene) diphthalic anhydride-4,4'-oxidianiline/2,2″-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzidine, 6FDA-ODA/TFDB) were designed to mitigate the thermionic emission effect through the introduction of trifluoromethyl (-CF) groups. 6FDA-ODA/TFDB nanofibers exhibited a fine fiber structure and a large highest occupied molecular orbital-lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (HOMO-LUMO) gap, which enhanced its effective contact area and maintained more localized states for charge transfer.

Deoxynivalenol (DON) is a prevalent trichothecene mycotoxin that contaminates global food supplies, posing significant health risks; however, targeted therapies against DON are scarce. Although DON-induced anemia is well-documented, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, the effects of DON on erythropoiesis are examined in detail using complementary murine models and human primary erythroid cultures.

However, which type of programmed cell death playing a key role in normal and abnormal human spermatogenesis remains obscure. This study integrated single-cell, bulk RNA and spatial transcriptome data analysis and found that the ferroptosis signal plays a potential role in spermatogenesis and significantly elevate in testicular samples from humans with non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) due to various factors.

Background: Accurately assessing the status of axillary lymph nodes (ALNs) is essential for devising optimal surgical plans and making informed treatment decisions in breast cancer (BC) patients.
Aims: This study aims to develop an innovative nomogram based on pathomics to preoperatively predict ALN metastasis (ALNM) in BC.
Methods And Results: Our study performed a retrospective analysis on digital hematoxylin and eosin (H&E)-stained images obtained from 407 patients across two institutions who were allocated into a training cohort (TC; n = 203), an internal validation cohort (IVC; n = 136), and an external validation cohort (EVC; n = 68).
Metaproteomic analysis offers critical insights into gut microbiome function; however, efficient microbial protein extraction from fecal samples remains challenging due to the complexity of different types of bacterial cell walls in the microbiome. In this study, we systematically compared three representative detergent-based lysis buffers (sodium dodecyl sulfate_urea, dodecyl β-D-maltoside_urea, sodium dodecyl sulfate_ dodecyl β-D-maltoside_urea) for metaproteomics sample preparation. After multiple levels of analyses, we identified SDS_DDM_urea as the most efficient option for extracting diverse microbial proteins, peptides, and identifying microbial species.

Ascorbate (AA) is an essential antioxidant and enzymatic cofactor with emerging roles in epigenetic regulation, redox biology, and immune function. However, single-cell quantification of intracellular AA has remained technically challenging. Here, we present SALSA (Single-cell Ascorbate Level Sensing Assay), a novel flow cytometry-based method that enables sensitive, specific detection of intracellular AA at the single-cell level.

Methods: In this work, combined transcriptome and metabolism analysis was employed to investigate the low-temperature responses of two sweet potato cultivars, namely, the low-temperature-resistant cultivar "X33" and the low-temperature-sensitive cultivar "W7".
Backgrounds: Current consensus guidelines lack robust evidence to advocate the optimal treatment approach for locoregional upper esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (L-UESCC). The purpose of this study was to conduct an in-depth investigation of the treatment patterns, outcomes, and prognostic factors among patients with L-UESCC.
Methods: Consecutive patients diagnosed with L-UESCC who underwent curative-intent treatment at two cancer centers from January 2013 to December 2018 were enrolled in this study.

Background: Lower extremity peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is an atherosclerotic condition affecting the peripheral vasculature, resulting in arterial stenosis or occlusion in the lower limbs. The focus is on understanding the epidemiology of this often-overlooked and debilitating disease.
Methods: Data on PAD were retrieved from the GBD 2021.
We demonstrate a submillimeter-length single-helix chiral grating embedded in a high-numerical-aperture single-mode fiber (HNA-SMF) for efficient generation of third-order orbital angular momentum (OAM), specifically the OAM mode. This design facilitates enhanced coupling of higher azimuthal modes due to significant perturbations arising from both the geometric effect of the thin-core offset under high-NA conditions and the elasto-optic effect induced by intense helical stress with a small twist pitch. As a result, we achieve an unprecedented device length of 0.

The heterogenetic mechanisms underlying+ these two Daqu remain unclear.
Results: The improved micro-oxygen environment in shelf-stacking fermentation significantly reduced acidity and increased liquefaction and esterification activities compared to traditionally stacked HTD (HTD-T).

This study aims to identify such genes in immune cells by employing single-cell transcriptomic analysis in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). By integration of single-cell transcriptomic sequencing data with GWAS (1 million individuals) findings using the summary data-based Mendelian randomization (SMR) method, we identified candidate BP-associated genes across diverse immune cell subsets.

Background: Interleukin (IL)-13 is a central mediator of airway inflammation in asthma, and gene polymorphisms may play a role in asthma pathogensis. However, the relationship between IL-13 gene polymorphisms and asthma susceptibility remain unclear. Therefore, we conducted this meta-analysis to evaluate this relationship and better understand the risk of asthma in Chinese children.

We perform a 10-month outdoor mesocosm experiment simulating multi-trophic freshwater shallow lake ecosystems. Using a fully factorial design comprising eight treatments with six replicates each, we assess the individual and combined effects of climate warming, nutrient loading, and pesticide loading on DNA viral communities and their interactions with microbial hosts.

PIWI-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) are small regulatory RNAs (21-35 nucleotides) exclusively expressed in germ cells, where they play a critical role in transposable element repression and post-meiotic gene regulation. The poly(A)-specific RNase-like domain-containing 1 (PNLDC1) protein is essential for piRNA maturation, specifically in 3'-end trimming. Disruption of PNLDC1 has been implicated in nonobstructive azoospermia (NOA) and male infertility.

Non-invasive diagnostic tools developed using machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL), two representative artificial intelligence algorithms, are increasingly being explored for MASH and its related fibrosis assessment.
Objectives: This study aimed to compare the diagnostic performance of different ML and DL models and identify the top-performing models for diagnosing MASH and associated liver fibrosis.

What Is Already Known About This Topic?: Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) represents an Aedes-borne alphavirus that causes fever, rash, and severe arthralgia. Outbreaks have expanded across 119 countries, with sporadic imported cases documented in China. While serum has been regarded as the optimal diagnostic specimen, comprehensive data comparing multiple specimen types across all infection phases have remained lacking.

In plants, reactive oxygen species (ROS) are maintained at strictly low intracellular levels, a prerequisite for their function as signals. Class III peroxidases serve as core regulators of intracellular ROS homeostasis, if environmental stimuli trigger long-term responses causing ROS accumulation. Here, we found a rice Class III peroxidase OsPrx20, which is a target of Ca/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase (OsDMI3) and is phosphorylated at its threonine (Thr)-244 site by OsDMI3, thereby positively regulating osmotic stress tolerance while negatively regulating blast resistance in rice.
