Phthalates (PEs) are widespread in environment, and human beings are unavoidably exposing to the mixture of PEs, which may induce male reproductive health risks. In order to investigate the mechanism of male reproductive injuries caused by the mixture of di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate, dibutyl phthalate and butyl benzyl phthalate (MPEs), male rats were orally exposed to 16 mg/kg/d MPEs (L-MPEs) and 450 mg/kg/d MPEs (H-MPEs) for 90 days, and the results showed that MPEs decreased the weights of testes, epididymis and periepididymis fat, decreased serum levels of male hormones, increased abnormal sperm rate, and caused testicular histopathological damages, such as atrophy and cavitation of seminiferous tubules, spermatids exfoliation, Leydig cells hyperplasia and accumulation of lipid droplets in the testicular interstitium. Testicular transcriptomic analysis identified 100 differently expressed genes (DEGs) in L-MPEs group and 10,880 DEGs in H-MPEs group, and these DEGs mainly involved in signaling pathways of focal adhesion, PI3K-Akt, AGE-RAGE, axon guidance, PPAR, MAPK and etc.

Due to its advanced clinical presentation and frequent late-stage diagnosis, the 5-year survival rate is less than 30%, with an even worse prognosis in patients with distant metastasis (SNMM-M). Therefore, characterizing the molecular landscape of SNMM may provide novel therapeutic targets for SNMM-M.

The growing demand for food has led to overuse of land, exacerbating the environmental sustainability of agrifood systems. Insufficient coordination and coupling within agrifood systems (soil-crop-animal-food consumption) reduce material cycle efficiency and limit the system's carbon reduction potential. Given the lack of global research on the impact of system coupling on carbon reduction, the value of regional practice cases is particularly evident.

Here, we demonstrate how these pathways are modulated by specific hematite crystal facets. To investigate the influence of particle surface structure, methylene blue (MB) adsorption and photodegradation kinetics are examined using facet-engineered hematite nanoparticles with distinct exposed facets.

Calix[]azanediyldibenzoates (C[]A, where = 3, 4, or 5) are synthesized through a one-step condensation reaction between dimethyl 2,2'-azanediyldibenzoate and paraformaldehyde. Compared to the monomer, the macrocycles exhibit a fast and significant acidochromic response due to the intramolecular charge transfer that is boosted by the synergistic effect of their adsorption and protonation.

The splicing factor SRSF1 plays a key oncogenic role in PDAC, where its tightly regulated expression constrains KRAS-driven signaling under normal conditions, while its upregulation promotes tumorigenesis. SRSF1 expression is regulated in part by proteostasis.

In this study, we synthesized a novel three-dimensional nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide (3D-NRGO) by integrating a sulfonated polystyrene (PSS) template method with nitrogen doping. The resulting 3D-NRGO was applied as an electrocatalyst for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in acidic electrolyte. Owing to the synergistic effect arising from its three-dimensional structure and nitrogen doping, the catalyst demonstrates substantially augmented catalytic current density, a more positive ORR potential, excellent methanol tolerance, and prolonged operational stability.

This study explores the effects of exercise on microglia-mediated neuroinflammation and apoptosis in a PD model, focusing on the role of irisin signaling in mediating these effects. Using a 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-induced PD mouse model, we found that a 10-week treadmill exercise regimen significantly enhanced motor function, reduced dopaminergic neuron loss, attenuated neuronal apoptosis, and alleviated neuroinflammation.

Denitrifying carbon source is mainly used for microbial growth and proliferation, substrate transport, and nitrate bioreduction. This paper reported a new approach to dramatically promote denitrification and reduce NO emission of low carbon-to-nitrogen ratio (C/N) municipal wastewater by introducing two microorganisms to increase carbon flux to nitrate bioreduction without increasing the external carbon source. At a C/N of 3, the total nitrogen removal efficiency of the model denitrifier () was increased from 48.

Excessive use of copper (Cu) in poultry farming induces nephrotoxicity closely related to inflammatory response and lipid metabolism disorder, but the mechanism remains unclear. Omega-3 (Ω-3), a natural polyunsaturated fatty acid with anti-inflammatory and antioxidative stress properties, has been demonstrated to exert protective effects on the kidneys. However, whether Ω-3 can alleviate Cu-induced renal injury and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

Background: Maternal exposure to bisphenol A (BPA) or phthalates (PAEs) increases inflammation and the risk of neurodevelopmental disorders in offspring. However, limited epidemiological studies have examined the neurodevelopmental effects of co-exposure to them during the first trimester on offspring and their inflammatory mechanism. This study investigates how maternal inflammation mediates the relationship between first-trimester co-exposure to BPA and PAEs and infant neurodevelopment.

Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations have emerged as a transformative computational microscope for probing atomic interactions spanning catalysis, energy storage, biotechnology, and beyond. However, existing machine-learning MD (MLMD) frameworks face a trilemma in balancing accuracy, scalability, and energy efficiency, particularly in compositionally complex systems like high-entropy alloys and multiferroic perovskites. Here, we introduce NVNMD-v2, a co-designed algorithm-hardware architecture that integrates a generalized deep neural-network potential (GDNNP) within a processing-in-memory (PIM) accelerator.

The polarization switching pathway in HfZrO-based ferroelectric thin film is still not well clarified and agreed, limiting the fundamental physical understanding and performance engineering. The key question lies in clarifying the transient intermediate state during the polarization switching of orthorhombic phase. In this work, by designing the ferroelectric and dielectric stacks, we theoretically and experimentally demonstrate a polarization switching pathway through an orthorhombic-tetragonal-orthorhombic phase transition in ferroelectric HfZrO where the non-polar tetragonal phase is metastable.

Subgenomic RNAs (sgRNAs) are discontinuous transcription products of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) that are involved in viral gene expression and replication, but their exact functions are still being studied. Here, we report the identification of a nested ORF3a-sgRNA, the fusion ORF3a-E-sgRNA, which is involved in the infection process of SARS-CoV-2. This sgRNA encodes both ORF3a and E and can be detected throughout the viral life cycle in SARS-CoV-2-infected cells with high copy numbers.
