ARPC1B cancer stem cells (CSCs) in pancreatic cancer are identified as a subpopulation resistant to gemcitabine. In our study, drug repositioning, molecular docking, and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) technique jointly revealed that CK-636 can directly target ARPC1B protein with high affinity. In vitro cytotoxicity, ex vivo organoid cultures, in vivo xenograft and orthotopic gemcitabine-resistant pancreatic cancer model demonstrated that combination therapy of gemcitabine plus CK-636 showed a superior anti-tumor effect compared with gemcitabine monotherapy.

Computing with photons is promising due to the intrinsic parallelism, high bandwidth, and low latency of photons. However, current photonic computing architectures are limited by the speed and energy consumption associated with electronic-to-optical data transfer, i.

Osteoporosis poses a significant risk for rotator cuff tears (RCTs) and re-tears after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR). Activating Leptin receptor (Lepr) mediated Stat3 signaling transduction facilitates the transcription of Runx2 and Sox9, respectively, and promotes osteogenesis and chondrogenesis.

While N-methyladenosine (mA) modifications of RNA mediated by methyltransferase-like 3 (METTL3) regulates certain endothelial function, its roles and mechanisms in hypertension remain unknown.
Objectives: This study was to examine roles of METTL3-mA and its regulating targets on BP, cardiovascular function, and remodeling in hypertensive mice.
Background: Tibial plateau fracture is one of the common fractures in the lower limb, mostly caused by high-energy injuries, which may be accompanied by different degrees of compression and displacement of the joint surface, affecting the knee joint alignment, stability, and sports function, and improper treatment may cause various complications, which are a more difficult problem in the clinic. The objective of this study was to investigate the biomechanical mechanisms underlying effective closed reduction in the treatment of tibial plateau fractures, particularly focusing on the performance of the homeopathic double reverse traction repositor compared to traditional traction table methods.
Methods: We developed a biomechanical model to analyze the equilibrium mechanics during tibial plateau fracture reduction.
The width and thickness of keratinized gingiva play a crucial role in the periodontal health and long-term stability of natural teeth. Noncrosslinked xenogeneic collagen matrix (Mucograft) has demonstrated favorable outcomes in augmenting keratinized gingival width (KGW), though its effect on increasing gingival thickness remains suboptimal. In contrast, crosslinked xenogeneic collagen matrix (Fibro-Gide) effectively enhances keratinized gingival thickness (KGT) but is unable to increase KGW.

Methods: Using the Trialtrove database, we collected trial information of 2,242 clinical trials. Using molecular docking analysis, we investigated the pharmacological properties of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1 R) agonist such as semaglutide and its binding affinity to GLP-1 R protein.

We report a general strategy for synthesizing novel fused aromatic 1-silaacenaphthenes by iridium or rhodium-catalyzed intramolecular C(sp)-H silylation. Both methods showed similar activity and broad substrate scope, producing a variety of 1-silaacenaphthenes with high functional group tolerance. We found that C-H cleavage was not the rate-determining step and that the reaction was first-order with respect to the initial concentrations of substrate, catalyst and ligand.

However, the properties of silicon-substituted acenaphthene-type scaffolds are poorly understood. Here, we report a rhodium-catalyzed intramolecular C(sp)-H silylation for enantioselective synthesis of acenaphthene-type scaffolds with excellent enantioselectivity and broad substrate scope.

However, due to variations in surface energy and atomic arrangement among different crystal facets, achieving selective growth of specific facets remains a significant challenge. Herein, we have achieved the selective growth of CdSe or ZnSe dots on the lateral facets or basal facets of two-dimensional CdS or ZnS nanoplates by carefully selecting Se source precursors with different reaction activities.

Some of these SMTs have malignant potential and may cause clinical symptoms. Thus, it is recommended in clinical guidelines to consider resection of these SMTs.

Objective: Customized nonabsorbable membranes are widely used in severe alveolar bone defects and provide sufficient and precise regenerated bone tissue for subsequent dental implant placement. Although 3D-printed polyetheretherketone (PEEK) meshes have confirmed successful use in clinical cases, the performance of a PEEK mesh is not satisfactory. Compared with PEEK, polyetherketoneketone (PEKK) has better mechanical and processing properties.

Dissipative Kerr solitons from optical microresonators, commonly referred to as soliton microcombs, have been developed for a broad range of applications, including precision measurement, optical frequency synthesis, and ultra-stable microwave and millimeter wave generation, all on a chip. An important goal for microcombs is self-referencing, which requires octave-spanning bandwidths to detect and stabilize the comb carrier envelope offset frequency. Further, detection and locking of the comb spacings are often achieved using frequency division by electro-optic modulation.

Falls and fall-related injuries in young male adults with excess weight are closely related to an increased cognitive load. Previous research mainly focuses on analyzing the postural control status of these populations performing cognitive tasks while stabilized walking progress but overlooked a specific period of walking known as gait initiation (GI). It is yet unknown the influences of cognitive load on this population's postural control status during GI.

The research on electron transfer coupled spin transition regulating the valence state and spin state transition of metal ions is promising and challenging. Herein, we report a cyano-bridged {FeIII2FeII2} molecular square complex, {[Fe(Tp)(CN)] [Fe(bnbpen)]}(ClO)·8CHOH (1·8CHOH, bnbpen = ,'-bis-(2-naphthylmethyl)-,'-bis(2-picolayl)-ethylenediamine), and its free of solvents form (1). Combined single-crystal X-ray diffraction, temperature-dependent infrared (IR) spectra, magnetic measurements, and Mössbauer spectra reveal that 1·8CHOH and 1 exhibit reversible one-step and two-step electron transfer coupled spin transition (ETCST) with temperature change, between the low-temperature state {Fe(μ-CN)Fe} (LS = low spin, HS = high spin) and the high-temperature state {Fe(μ-CN)Fe}, respectively.

Dangerous events in the elderly usually occur in the conversion of walking periods when forward striding has already happened, but the body has not yet entered a completely steady walking.
Objectives: Compare the gait characteristics in Chinese long-term NH residents and community-living elderly during the walking Transitional Period (TP) and Stabilization Period (SP).
DFT calculations of reaction mechanisms in solution have always been a hot topic, especially for transition-metal-catalyzed reactions, in which the traditional DFT-D3 method has been extensively employed. The overestimation of the dispersion from the traditional DFT-D3 method leads to a quite low activation free-energy barrier, so it is worth finding a proper way to deal with the dispersion for solution systems. The solvent-solute dispersion is also important for solution systems, and thus it should be calculated together with the solute dispersion.
