Background: Hemiplegic shoulder pain (HSP) is a common complication in patients with stroke. The pathogenesis of HSP is complex, and muscle hypertonia, especially the hypertonia of internal rotation muscles of the shoulder, may be one of the important causes of shoulder pain. However, the relationship between muscle stiffness and HSP has not been well studied.

Article Synopsis
  • Researchers have focused on developing triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) to address power supply challenges for electronic devices, recognizing their promising applications and effective properties.
  • A new TENG has been created using a composite of BaTiO (BTO) and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), achieving optimal performance at a 40% BTO to PDMS ratio, and demonstrating its potential as a self-powered touch sensor for controlling LED lights.
  • The study also highlights previously overlooked issues in TENG research and introduces solutions like a signal processing method, laying groundwork for future work in improving TENG performance and applications in areas like wearable tech and the Internet of Things.
