Molecular phylogenetics illustrates the evolution and divergence of green plants by employing sequence data from various sources. Interestingly, phylogenetic reconstruction based on mitochondrial genes tends to exhibit incongruence with those derived from nuclear and chloroplast genes. Although the uniparental inheritance and conservatively retained protein-coding genes of mitochondrial genomes inherently exclude certain potential factors that affect phylogenetic reconstruction, such as hybridization and gene loss, the utilization of mitochondrial genomes for phylogeny and divergence time estimation remains limited.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Corus officinalis Siebold & Zucc belongs to the genus Cornus in the Cornaceae family, and was first recorded in the "Shennong Herbal Classic", now has been included in "according to the tradition of both food and Chinese herbal medicines", consist of kidney and liver tonifying, antioxidant substances including cycloid glycosides, flavonoids, polyphenols, organic acids, etc. AIM OF THE STUDY: This study was aimed at discovering the mechanism underlying the anti-hyperemia effect of Cor in rats, particularly its protective effect against liver and kidney dysfunction caused by HUA.
Materials And Methods: In this study, the effect of Cor extract against HUA was verified in rats, subsequently, network pharmacology combined with non-targeted metabolomic were performed to investigate its composition characteristics, and further multi-omics studies and molecular validation were performed to reveal molecular mechanism both in vivo and in vitro.

Cotton stalk (CTS) and corn stover (CRS) were pretreated using solid alkali (NaOH or Ca(OH)) assisted ball milling (BM). The physicochemical properties of the pretreated materials and their high-solid enzymatic hydrolysis performance were systematically investigated. The differentiation of the nitrate reduction pathway is of great significance in the ecosystem, as it determines the occurrence form of ecosystem N. In order to explore the impact and mechanism of different algal dissolved organic nitrogen (DON) and dissolved organic phosphorus (DOP) on differentiation of nitrate (NO-N) reduction pathway, small-scale enclosure experiment was conducted to analyze the DON and DOP composition, nutrient level, microbial community composition and NO-N reduction pathway in ponds with Microcystis and Dolichospermum blooms. The main DON produced by Microcystis included lipids and proteins as well as carbohydrate which were readily degradable, whereas the DOP produced by Dolichospermum predominantly consists of readily degradable forms such as carbohydrate and protein.

Analyzing consumers' preferences and perceptions of eggs can provide data support for the egg industry to produce products that better meet consumer preferences. The study evaluated consumers' egg consumption preferences based on an online survey from 2022 to 2024 of 3,434 consumers of different ages. The results showed that Generation Z (Gen Z), referred to the people born after 1997, was more concerned about the topic of eggs and was willing to purchase eggs through e-commerce platforms.

A versatile fluorescent molecularly imprinted nanosensor (MIPs@O-CDs) for profiling ciprofloxacin (CIP) was innovatively developed using a controllable post-imprinting modification strategy. High-affinity molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) as recognition elements granted nanosensor favorable anti-interference. Bright orange-emission carbon dots (O-CDs) as signal transducers demonstrated prominent reverse fluorescence response to CIP due to inner filter effect, ameliorating detection sensitivity and accuracy.

Large-scale underground coal mining alters regional water cycles, yet the mechanisms governing interactions among water bodies in deep mining areas are poorly understood. Addressing the issues of slow decomposition and low nutrient release efficiency associated with traditional straw returning, this study innovatively applied ultrasound-assisted centrifugal separation technology to prepare submicron/nano-straw particles and systematically conducted a multi-scale investigation from microscopic to macroscopic levels. The core finding reveals that when the particle size reaches the 1 μm threshold, ultrasonic cavitation vigorously disrupts the straw structure, leading to efficient lignin removal (77.45 %) and a significant reduction in cellulose crystallinity, thereby fundamentally enhancing the degradation rate.
