[Thoughts and suggestions on digital services to enhance the level of vaccination management].

With the development of information technology and the increasing demand for vaccination services among the people, it is a definite trend to enhance the quality of vaccination services through digitization. This article starts with a clear concept of digital services for vaccination, introduces the current development status in China and abroad, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of existing models in leading regions, takes a glean from the summation, and proposes targeted solutions. This study suggests establishing a departmental coordination mechanism for data interconnection and sharing, formulating data standards and functional specifications, enhancing the functionalities of the immunization planning information system, strengthening data collection and analytical usage, and intensifying appointment management and science and health education to provide expert guidance for the construction of digital vaccination services across the country in the future.

Impaired kidney function and the risk of all-cause mortality and cardiovascular disease among Chinese hypertensive adults: Using three different equations to estimate the glomerular filtration rate.

Objectives: We aimed to seek accurate assessments of the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in a Chinese hypertensive population to identify individuals at high risk for chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression. Then, the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and all-cause death due to kidney injury were further investigated under appropriate GFR-estimation equations.

Methods: In this prospective follow-up cohort study of 10,171 hypertensive patients, we compared the discrimination power of a trio of GFR-estimation equations using Harrell's C-index, measuring the model fit by calculating the Akaike information criterion.

Objective: More than 90% of the Chinese population have completed 2 doses of inactivated COVID-19 vaccines in Mainland China. However, after China government abandoned strict control measures, many breakthrough infections appeared, and vaccine effectiveness against Omicron BA.2 infection was uncertain.

Burden of type 1 and type 2 diabetes and high fasting plasma glucose in Europe, 1990-2019: a comprehensive analysis from the global burden of disease study 2019.

Introduction: With population aging rampant globally, Europe faces unique challenges and achievements in chronic disease prevention. Despite this, comprehensive studies examining the diabetes burden remain absent. We investigated the burden of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, alongside high fasting plasma glucose (HFPG), in Europe from 1990-2019, to provide evidence for global diabetes strategies.

Short-Term Exposure to Nitrogen Dioxide Modifies Genetic Predisposition in Blood Lipid and Fasting Plasma Glucose: A Pedigree-Based Study.

(1) Background: Previous studies suggest that exposure to nitrogen dioxide (NO) has a negative impact on health. But few studies have explored the association between NO and blood lipids or fasting plasma glucose (FPG), as well as gene-air pollution interactions. This study aims to fill this knowledge gap based on a pedigree cohort in southern China.

Machine learning-based classification of deubiquitinase USP26 and its cell proliferation inhibition through stabilizing KLF6 in cervical cancer.

Objective: We aim to accurately distinguish ubiquitin-specific proteases (USPs) from other members within the deubiquitinating enzyme families based on protein sequences. Additionally, we seek to elucidate the specific regulatory mechanisms through which USP26 modulates Krüppel-like factor 6 (KLF6) and assess the subsequent effects of this regulation on both the proliferation and migration of cervical cancer cells.

Methods: All the deubiquitinase (DUB) sequences were classified into USPs and non-USPs.

Epidemic Characteristics, Spatiotemporal Pattern, and Risk Factors of Other Infectious Diarrhea in Fujian Province From 2005 to 2021: Retrospective Analysis.

Background: Other infectious diarrhea (OID) continues to pose a significant public health threat to all age groups in Fujian Province. There is a need for an in-depth analysis to understand the epidemiological pattern of OID and its associated risk factors in the region.

Objective: In this study, we aimed to describe the overall epidemic characteristics and spatiotemporal pattern of OID in Fujian Province from 2005 to 2021 and explore the linkage between sociodemographic and environmental factors and the occurrence of OID within the study area.

An Analysis of the Association between School Bullying Prevention and Control Measures and Secondary School Students' Bullying Behavior in Jiangsu Province.

(1) Background: China released regulations on school bullying prevention and control in 2017; however, current research on school bullying in China focuses on exploring influencing factors and lacks empirical research on the effectiveness of anti-bullying policies in schools. The objective of this study was to use an empirical model to explore the association between bullying prevention and control measures and secondary school students' bullying victimization and multiple bullying victimization in Chinese schools. (2) Methods: Data were derived from the 2019 Surveillance of Common Diseases and Health Influencing Factors among Students in Jiangsu Province.

Identification of genetic loci jointly influencing COVID-19 and coronary heart diseases.

Background: Comorbidities of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)/coronary heart disease (CHD) pose great threats to disease outcomes, yet little is known about their shared pathology. The study aimed to examine whether comorbidities of COVID-19/CHD involved shared genetic pathology, as well as to clarify the shared genetic variants predisposing risks common to COVID-19 severity and CHD risks.

Methods: By leveraging publicly available summary statistics, we assessed the genetically determined causality between COVID-19 and CHD with bidirectional Mendelian randomization.

However, the traditionally defined dichotomous MetS neither reflected MetS severity nor considered demographic variations. Here we develop a continuous, age-sex-ethnicity-specific MetS score based on continuous measures of the five metabolic dysfunctions (waist circumference [WC], triglycerides [TG], high-density lipoprotein cholesterol [HDL-C], mean arterial pressure [MAP], and fasting blood glucose [FBG]).

Coix seed, a versatile agricultural product, is known for its nutritional and functional components. However, the common contamination with mycotoxins represents a potential risk for human health. A sensitive analytical method was developed and validated to simultaneously determine 26 mycotoxins, including regulated and emerging, using stable-isotope-dilution-assay and LC-MS/MS.

Sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption and inadequate moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) have been suggested as potential contributors to overweight/obesity during childhood or adolescence; however, the results of previous studies are inconsistent. It was crucial to estimate the independent and joint association of SSB consumption and inadequate MVPA for childhood and adolescent overweight/obesity. The "Surveillance for Common Disease and Health Risk Factors Among Students in Jiangsu Province 2021-2022" initiative provided us with representative population-based data that we studied.

Using a prospective, observational cohort study during the post-"dynamic COVID-zero" wave in China, we estimated short-term relative effectiveness against Omicron BA.5 infection of inhaled aerosolized adenovirus type 5-vectored ancestral strain coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine as a second booster dose approximately 1 year after homologous boosted primary series of inactivated COVID-19 vaccine compared with no second booster. Participants reported nucleic acid or antigen test results weekly until they tested positive or completed predesignated follow-up.

A pedigree-based cohort to study the genetic risk factors for cardiometabolic diseases: study design, baseline characteristics and preliminary results.

Background: We initiated the Fujian Tulou Pedigree-based Cohort (FTPC) as the integration of extended pedigrees and prospective cohort to clarify the genetic and environmental risk factors of cardiometabolic diseases.

Methods: FTPC was carried out in Nanjing County, Fujian Province, China from August 2015 to December 2017 to recruit probands with the same surnames and then enroll their first-degree and more distant relatives. The participants were asked to complete questionnaire interview, physical examination, and blood collection.

Frequency of health care provider recommendations for HPV vaccination: a survey in three large cities in China.

Introduction: Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, an important pathogenic factor for cervical cancer, can be prevented by the HPV vaccine. Health care provider (HCP) recommendations contribute to improve HPV vaccination coverage. The aim of this study was to assess the frequency of HCP recommendations for HPV vaccination and associated factors.

[Prevalence of infection in snails in Fujian Province from 2017 to 2021].

Objective: To investigate the prevalence of infection in market-sold and field-captured snails in Fujian Province, so as to provide the scientific basis for the formulation of the angiostrongyliasis control measures.

Methods: In each month from May to October during the period from 2017 through 2021, snails were collected from two field fixed surveillance sites and collected from one agricultural product market in Fuzhou City, while and snails were collected from two agricultural product markets and four restaurants in Xiamen City. At least 50 snails and 500 g were sampled each time.
