Objectives: To assess the left ventricular remodeling index (LVRI) for predicting ventricular tachyarrhythmia (VTA) in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) < 35%.

Materials And Methods: In this retrospective single-center study, consecutive DCM patients with LVEF < 35% (n = 271) who underwent cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging were followed up. The study endpoint was VTA, including sudden cardiac death and major ventricular arrhythmias.

This study presents the development of advanced tight polyethersulfone (PES) ultrafiltration membranes enhanced with polydopamine-coated carboxylated cellulose nanocrystrals (PDA@C-CNC) as functional fillers. The PDA@C-CNC fillers were synthesized via an in situ self-polymerization approach and employed as surface segregation agents during membrane preparation. Utilizing the non-solvent-induced phase separation (NIPS) technique, the highly hydrophilic PDA@C-CNC particles migrated to the interface between the polymer solution and the coagulation bath and tightly adhered to the polyethersulfone (PES) matrix through strong hydrogen bonding and π-π interactions, forming a dense, hydrophilic selective surface layer rich in polar functional groups (amino group (-NH) and hydroxyl group(-OH)).

In a prospective longitudinal study with 218 Parkinson's disease (PD) patients in the discovery cohort and 84 in the validation cohort, we aimed to identify novel blood biomarkers predicting disability milestones in PD. Through Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator-Cox (Lasso-Cox) regression, developed nomogram predictive model and Linear mixed-effects models, we identified low level of plasma fibronectin (pFN) as one of the best-performing risk markers in predicting disability milestones. A low level of pFN was associated with a short milestone-free survival period in PD.
