Herein, a metal-organic framework (MOF)-encapsulated upconversion nanoparticle (UC) core-shell hybrid sensor (UC@CuMOF) was designed for the sensitive detection of dufulin. With the encapsulation of the CuMOF shell, the luminescence of UC under a 980 nm laser was strongly quenched by the shell through the photoinduced electron transfer effect.

However, integrated strategies to simultaneously improve silage rice and ratoon rice yield and quality across both seasons require further systematic study. A two-year field study (2022-2023) was conducted using two widely cultivated indica hybrid rice cultivars, F You 498 (FY498) and Chuankangyou Simiao (CKYSM), in Southwest China.

The Proposal for a new Regulation on plants produced by certain new genomic techniques (NGTs) embraces the deregulation of NGT plants but introduces a patent ban on them. This move has generated significant legal uncertainties and has become the focal point of a broader debate over the patentability of NGT plants. In reviewing the rationale and challenges underlying the patent ban, this article argues that the abandonment of patents diverges from established expectations.

Leveraging the nanoconfinement effect, (sub)nanoscale channels can significantly accelerate ion transport kinetics to maximize electrochemical performance. Inspired by the hierarchical network structure of bamboo membrane, a gradient nanoconfined MXene electrode (GNC-MX) is designed, where multiscale interlayer spacing is coupled with in-plane mesopores that bridge adjacent nanoconfined channels, enabling synergistic vertical and horizontal ion migration.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFDiabetic wounds with drug-resistant bacterial infections pose a formidable clinical challenge, which is attributed to adverse microenvironments, including hypoxia, biofilm formation, and insufficient reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (ROS/RNS). To overcome these issues, a laser-ultrasound responsive nanoreactor that comprises NO-intercalated and defect-rich CoMn-layered double hydroxide (LDH) on black phosphorus (BP) nanosheets (D-CoMn LDH-NO@BP) is fabricated. It exhibits catalase-like activity for O generation, facilitates NO release under acidic conditions, and promotes ROS/RNS generation upon laser-ultrasound activation, resulting in ferroptosis, biofilm degradation, and hypoxia alleviation for accelerated wound healing.

Reproductive disorders in males induced by environmental pollutants, such as di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), have garnered considerable attention in recent years. DEHP induces testicular oxidative stress and ferroptosis via its active metabolite MEHP, thereby leading to spermatogenic dysfunction.

Quantum hydrodynamic theory (QHT) provides a computationally efficient alternative to time-dependent density functional theory for simulating plasmonic nanostructures, but its predictive power depends critically on the choice of ground-state electron density and energy functional. To construct ground-state densities, we adopt orbital-free density functional theory and numerically evaluate the effect of different exchange-correlation functionals and kinetic energy functionals. A suitable energy functional to reproduce both the DFT-calculated work function and charge density is identified.

Here, the gut microbiota was analyzed and categorized into training, exploration (1-3 months post-release) and stable period (4-6 months post-release) by activity intensity of released pandas. We found that the gut microbiota diversity of pandas was significantly higher during the stable period compared to the training period.
