YAP/TAZ are transcriptional co-activators that pair with transcription factor TEA/ATTS domains (TEADs) for modulating the Hippo pathway. Previous works propose the potential role of YAP/TAZ phase separation for transcriptional activation, yet the biomolecular basis of endogenous YAP/TAZ-TEAD condensates remains unclear. Here, we dissect their endogenous morphology, revealing that YAP/TAZ are client proteins recruited to TEAD condensates in various human cell lines.

Gynecologic malignancies are prone to metastasis and recurrence due to the low efficacy and sensitivity of current clinical treatments. Here, we construct ultrasmall Sb@Au nanodots (Sb@Au NDs) as a metallothionein 2A (MT 2A)-silencing nanoagonist for effective photothermal immunotherapy of gynecologic malignancies. Sb@Au NDs show high photothermal conversion efficiency of 56.

Department of Neurology, Zhongshan Hospital of Xiamen University, and Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory of Neurodegenerative Disease and Aging Research, Institute of Neuroscience, School of Medicine, Xiamen University, Xiamen, Fujian, 361102, China.

Atrophy of the subiculum is the earliest hippocampal anatomical marker of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and is closely associated with early cognitive decline. However, the underlying mechanisms driving this vulnerability remain unclear. In this study, using the 5×FAD mouse model, we identified significant amyloid-beta (Aβ) accumulation in the subiculum during the early stages of AD.

Purpose: To develop a cascaded deep learning (DL) framework integrating tumor segmentation with metastatic risk stratification for preoperative prediction of occult peritoneal metastasis (OPM) in advanced gastric cancer (GC), and validate its generalizability for early peritoneal recurrence (PR) prediction.

Methods: This multicenter study enrolled 765 patients with advanced GC from three institutions. We developed a two-stage framework as follows: (1) V-Net-based tumor segmentation on CT; (2) DL-based metastatic risk classification using segmented tumor regions.

September 2025

Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, Tianjin Institute of Digestive Diseases, Tianjin Key Laboratory of Digestive Diseases, Tianjin, China. Electronic address:

Intractable functional constipation (IFC), a severe form of chronic constipation characterized by slow transit and resistance to conventional treatments, posed a significant clinical challenge. Here, we identified Lactococcus formosensis (Lf), a Gram-positive bacterium prevalent in IFC patients, as a novel contributor to intestinal motility impairment. Clinically, IFC patients exhibited increased colonic mucosal colonization of Lf and significant myenteric neuronal loss and pyroptosis, particularly in excitatory choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) neurons, but not inhibitory neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) neurons.

Background: The clinical impact of rare epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) exon 19 insertion-deletion (19delins) variants on tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) efficacy remains poorly characterized. We updated 5-year outcomes to evaluate long-term survival and optimal treatment strategies in advanced lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) patients harboring these mutations.

Materials And Methods: In this multicenter prospective study, 36 treatment-naive advanced LUAD patients with EGFR 19delins mutations received first-generation (n = 26) or third-generation TKIs (n = 10).

The brain arteriovenous malformation (BAVM) within language-eloquent area poses a significant surgical challenge, demanding meticulous planning to ensure both preservation of language function and curative resection. This report details the successful microsurgical resection of a Spetzler-Martin grade II BAVM located in Wernicke's area in a 51-year-old male, ruptured three weeks ago and characterized by mild anomia. Following thorough discussion, the patient elected for microsurgery, providing informed consent, and the procedure was approved by the ethics committee.

September 2025

Department of Epidemiology and Health Statistics, School of Public Health, Fujian Medical University, Fuzhou, 350004, China.

Objectives: To investigate the association between maternal liver enzyme concentrations during pregnancy and the risk of abnormal birth weight.

Methods: This is a prospective birth cohort study querying the pregnant women from Fujian Maternal and Child Health Hospital, affiliated with Fujian Medical University, China. Liver enzyme levels, including gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and aspartate aminotransferase (AST), were measured in the first and third trimesters, and changes in liver enzyme levels were calculated based on these measurements.

Innovation Center for Cancer Research, Clinical Oncology School of Fujian Medical University, Fujian Cancer Hospital, Fuzhou, China.

Chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is regarded as one of the most serious infectious diseases and a significant global public health concern. Although the neonatal vaccine has been effective in impeding the transmission of HBV, tens of millions of HBV patients are still vulnerable to liver disease and even hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In this research, we demonstrated that HBV-encoded circRNA, designated as HBV-circRNA-5, was involved in the tumorigenesis of HCC.

Background: Angiography-derived radial wall strain (RWS) estimates the radial coronary wall deformation caused by pulsatile blood pressure, whereas superficial wall stress (SWS) summarizes the comprehensive wall deformation caused by both blood pressure and cardiac motion. This study sought to investigate the difference between RWS and SWS for the association with plaque vulnerability and the impact of cardiac motion on RWS.

Methods: Concurrent RWS, cardiac motion-induced bending angle change (ΔCBA), SWS, and optical coherence tomography image analyses were retrospectively performed in 49 eligible intermediate coronary lesions.
