Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted daily life globally since its emergence in early 2020. University students experiencing university lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic may exhibit both horizontal relative deprivation (HRD) and vertical relative deprivation (VRD). Furthermore, as a well-established determinant of depression, relative deprivation (RD) warrants further investigation to determine whether it is associated with exercise, which requires more conclusive evidence.

With the increasing significance of the laser industry, especially in the 3-5 μm range, mid-infrared (mid-IR) nonlinear optical (NLO) crystals have become crucial components to meet stringent requirements. Herein, a large birefringence is essential for a mid-IR NLO crystal, as it ensures the phase-matching condition for high-conversion efficiency in laser output operation. In this study, three vanadium selenites A(VO)(SeO) (A = NH, K, and HO) with hexagonal tungsten oxide-related structures were prepared, featuring two-dimensional layered structures composed of two second-order Jahn-Teller (SOJT) motifs: distorted VO octahedra and SeO pyramids.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a globally chronic disease affecting middle-aged and elderly individuals, with growing evidences implicating gut microbiota in its pathogenesis. ZW3 (ZW3) shows potential in modulating gut microbiota, protecting intestinal barrier, and regulating immunity. This study explored the therapeutic effects of ZW3, alone and combined with CII/Gln, using a monoiodoacetate (MIA)-induced OA model.

Karst desertification (KD) severely restricts rural development in China's karst regions. To ensure both ecological security and economic sustainability, afforestation is essential for karst desertification control (KDC). This paper utilizes scientific approaches, including Ecological Product (EP) value accounting (which evaluates the value of ecosystem - provided products and services for humans) and data statistical analysis, to explore the functions of afforestation in EP distribution, value realization, and Ecological Industry (EI) formation.

Current thrombolytic therapies primarily function by converting plasminogen into plasmin, a process dependent on the fibrin-activator complex. This dependence, coupled with the substantial molecular size of plasmin, constrains its effectiveness in degrading D-dimer and restricts its diffusion within thrombi. Here, we introduce a small facultative plasminogen-independent thrombolytic enzyme, snFPITE, isolated from Sipunculus nudus.

Rationale: In traditional Chinese medicine, Semen Ziziphi Spinosae (SZS) is employed for alleviating conditions such as neurasthenia, sleep disorders, and anxiety. Its therapeutic effects are attributed to an abundance of biologically active compounds. The main objective of this study was the comparative profiling of SZS from different harvest times using a widely targeted metabolomics approach.

Rice is highly sensitive to low temperatures, making cold stress a significant factor limiting its growth, especially during the bud bursting stage. To address this, an RIL population derived from a cross between cold-tolerant and cold-sensitive rice varieties was used to identify nine QTLs linked to cold tolerance under temperatures of 4 ℃, 5 °C, and 6 ℃ using a high-density genetic map. One candidate gene, LOC_Os07g44410, was identified through gene function annotation, haplotype analysis, and qRT-PCR, with two main haplotypes (Hap1 and Hap2) showing distinct phenotypic differences.

DNA-segment copy number variations (DSCNVs), such as deletions and duplications, are important sources of genomic structural variation. However, the types and sizes of DSCNVs, as well as their genome-wide distribution and potential functions, are poorly understood in wheat. Here, we identified 198 985 DSCNVs by investigating 491 genomes of common wheat and found that they account for 20% of the entire genome.

Introduction: Forestry modernization (FM) and High quality economic development (HED) are two major goals that must be achieved in the process of economic development from low to high, and they are closely related to each other in their respective internal development mechanisms.
Methods: Based on the analysis of the coupling coordination mechanism between FM and HED, this paper empirically studies the coupling coordination degree and influencing factors of "forestry modernization and high quality economic development" ("FM-HED") using panel data from 30 provinces and cities in China (except Xizang, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) from 2012 to 2020. First, the entropy method and the coupling coordination degree model were used to analyze the temporal changes and spatial differentiation of the coupling coordination between FM and HED.
