The antibiotic contamination in aquatic environments, particularly in aquaculture systems, poses substantial risks to ecological balance and human health. To address this issue, we engineered a novel ratiometric fluorescent probe utilizing dual-emission carbon dots (D-CDs) synthesized from sustainable biomass carrot and nitrogen-rich precursors (melamine and o-phenylenediamine) through an efficient one-pot hydrothermal approach. The D-CDs exhibited dual emission peaks at 425nm and 540 nm under 370nm excitation.

Hydrogen energy is pivotal for driving sustainable development and achieving deep decarbonization; yet, its storage remains a significant challenge. Notably, depleted methane reservoirs can serve as a promising large-scale solution for underground hydrogen storage (UHS). Based on adsorption experiments, Monte Carlo and molecular dynamics methods, the adsorption behavior of H and CH in anthracite and the applicability of five models were discussed.

This study focuses on the issues of poor fluidity, low penetration into residual coal, and suboptimal inhibition of coal spontaneous combustion associated with traditional coal mine gel fire retardants. The permeability and flow characteristics of a sodium alginate-based composite thermosensitive hydrogel, as well as its fire prevention and extinguishment performance, were investigated. The findings suggest that the thermosensitive hydrogel behaves as a pseudoplastic fluid at 40 °C and a yield-pseudoplastic fluid at 65 °C, exhibiting shear-thinning behavior with increasing shear rate.

Introduction: Accurate characterization of multi-size fractures in coal is crucial for estimating its transport properties. However, the extraction of narrow microfractures in 3D voxel-type CT images is difficult, which causes the loss of connectivity in the extracted fracture network and reduces the accuracy of the predicted transport properties.
Objectives: Improving the image quality and optimizing the segmentation process to deal with the inaccuracy of fracture extraction from coal CT images.

The dynamic characteristics of memristive neural networks (MNNs) can be affected by multiple environmental factors. With that in mind, this paper simultaneously considers the comprehensive effects of stochastic disturbance, external input and actuator hysteresis on the MNNs. Firstly, the driving-response stochastic MNNs (SMNNs) subjected to external inputs and hysteresis are introduced, along with a class of secure communication schemes constructed based on this system.

Multi-modal data fusion plays a critical role in enhancing the accuracy and robustness of perception systems for autonomous driving, especially for the detection of small objects. However, small object detection remains particularly challenging due to sparse LiDAR points and low-resolution image features, which often lead to missed or imprecise detections. Currently, many methods process LiDAR point clouds and visible-light camera images separately, and then fuse them in the detection head.

The heat dissipation of high-power chips places higher demands on the thermal conductivity () of polymer-based thermal interface materials (TIMs) to ensure the stable operation of the chips. However, the interfacial thermal resistance (ITR) greatly restricts further improvement. Herein, 1D multiwalled carbon nanotubes modified with carboxyl (CNTs-) were introduced to the aramid matrix via blade coating, and a strategy of the intrinsic interfacial interaction and synergistic orientation was ingeniously adopted to enhance thermal transport.

Background: Firefighters are exposed to high-stress work environments and are prone to depression, which has a significant impact on their professional performance and quality of life. Although exercise self-efficacy has been suggested to potentially influence psychological wellbeing, its mechanism of action on firefighters' depression has not been clarified.
Methods: This study investigated the relationship between exercise self-efficacy and depression in firefighters and examined the mediating role of basic psychological needs and the moderating role of perceived social support.

Although the traditional Sarma method considers the hydrostatic pressure effect, in the actual engineering, the hydraulic conditions are complex and most of them are nonhomogeneous hydraulic boundary conditions, this paper considers the nonhomogeneous hydraulic boundary conditions based on the traditional Sarma method, and based on the improved Sarma method model, the stability evaluation of the designed slope and the slope angle is carried out with the slope of the Aynak open-pit copper mine as the engineering background-optimization study. Firstly, the numerical simulation method carried out the stability analysis of the designed excavation slopes. Then the stability of the final boundary slopes was evaluated based on the improved Sarma method model.

Constrained by the closed structure, it is difficult to visually detect the insulation defects inside large oil-immersed transformers. For this issue, this paper uses a self-developed micro-robot for visual inspection. Since the defects to be detected have different shapes, large differences in size, and complex background, accurately and quickly detecting the defect target is the key for the micro-robot to complete the internal inspection.

Efficient carbon-sequestering microorganisms are crucial for enhancing soil quality and reducing carbon emissions, particularly in semiarid coal mining areas. In this study, we analyzed the soil carbon-fixing microbial taxa and pathways in the Shendong mining area via high-throughput sequencing, and concluded that their main carbon sequestering pathway is the reduced citrate cycle (rTCA cycle), which has the potential for microbial carbon sequestration. Bacterial strains with high CO sequestration efficiency were isolated and identified, and their potential for improving soil carbon storage and quality was assessed.
