Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), a persistent organic pollutant, is gaining attention for its detrimental effects on human health and ubiquity in aquatic environments. Herein, we introduce a novel foam fractionation method that uses Janus nanoparticles as foam stabilizers and collectors for the efficient removal and enrichment of PFOA from water. The amphiphilic Janus-SiO nanoparticles (SNPs) were successfully synthesized through anisotropic modification with perfluoroalkylsilanes and aminosilanes.

The charge transfer path and the resistance generated at the interface were crucial factors affecting the carrier separation efficiency in heterojunction photocatalysts. Herein, a novel Z-scheme BiSnO/MoS heterojunction with covalent S-O interface was successfully synthesized by calcination and hydrothermal methods. Experimental evidence demonstrated that the prepared BiSnO/MoS composite exhibited high photocatalytic efficiency for the degradation of lomefloxacin, and the antibacterial effects of lomefloxacin and its degradation products decreased during the process.

The N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-catalyzed enantio- and diastereoselective [2 + 3] annulation of alkenes derived from phthalide and isatin with α,β-unsaturated aldehydes resulting in the construction of bispiro-phthalide-cyclopentanone-oxindoles is demonstrated. The reaction proceeds via the generation of NHC-bond homoenolate intermediates from enals and NHC, which on interception with alkenes derived from phthalide and isatin afford bispiroheterocyclic compounds bearing three contiguous stereogenic centers in moderate to good yields with high enantio- and diastereoselectivities. The selective reduction of the carbonyl group facilitated the synthesis of bispiro-phthalide-cyclopentanol-indoline with a single diastereomer containing five stereocenters.

Electrocatalytic water splitting for hydrogen production presents a promising solution to the global energy crisis. The high-value recycling and utilization of waste polyethylene terephthalate (PET) presents an environmental-friendly solution to address the "white pollution" caused by plastics. How to link the two reactions? Significantly, in a PET hydrolysate solution, the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) occurs at the cathode, while the ethylene glycol oxidative reaction (EGOR) occurs at the anode, producing hydrogen and formic acid (FA), respectively.

Line feature matching is a crucial aspect of computer vision and image processing tasks, attracting significant research attention. Most line matching algorithms predominantly rely on local feature descriptors or deep learning modules, which often suffer from low robustness and poor generalization. In response, this paper presents a novel line feature matching approach grounded in point-line invariants through spatial invariant relationships.

Stable operation of the gas diffusion electrodes is key for industrial-scale electrochemical CO reduction (eCOR). To enhance the electrolytic stability, we shield the Cu-coated gas diffusion electrode with a polycationic sheath via electrospinning and propose a Metal-Organic Double Layer (MODL) scheme to depict the triphasic interface. The as-fabricated electrode exhibits a high multi-carbon Faradaic efficiency of 91.

Birds, insects, bats and fish demonstrate exceptional locomotion efficiency through adaptive flapping motions, offering a wealth of inspiration for bio-inspired propulsion systems. However, traditional research often relies on simplified motion models with limited degrees of freedom, which may not fully capture the complexity, adaptability, and efficiency of natural movement. In this study, we propose an adaptive motion optimization framework based on reinforcement learning (RL), aiming to address the aforementioned challenges.

As a synthetic estrogen, diethylstilbestrol (DES) residues in water pose a threat to human health. In this work, a novel electrochemiluminescence resonance energy transfer (ECL-RET) aptamer sensor based on NCDs@AgPO as a resonance energy transfer donor and Cu doped Eu MOF (Cu: Eu MOF) as an efficient resonance energy transfer acceptor for the detection of diethylstilbestrol (DES) was proposed for the first time. The aptamer sensor uses AgPO nanoparticles loaded with nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots (NCDs) as the ECL emitter, which improves the electron transfer efficiency of the sensor and promotes the generation of SO radicals, thereby improving the luminescence intensity and stability of the ECL sensor.

Membrane-driven process was widely applied for advanced treatment of leachate to achieve the final limitation, but around 10-million-ton concentrated leachate (CL) generated annually has become a hot potato. CL properties and their potential risks were overlooked, and here, we filled in these blanks based on samples from seven provinces from traditional and emerging pollutants perspective. Cd, Pb and Cr were the main contributors for hazardous waste identification with the concentration of 0.

Recently, graph convolutional networks (GCNs) have become one of the important models for solving traffic flow prediction, but existing models still have two problems: (1) insufficient information utilization: there is a lack of adequate consideration of the relevant characteristic information between the original data flows. Ignoring external weather information. Only considering the interaction influence of limited surrounding nodes on the target node fails to effectively characterize the joint spatial-temporal correlation; (2) receptive field limitation: the existing graph convolution network model may cause the network node features to be too smooth and lose the original information when analyzing the spatial features extracted by the filter used in the traffic flow data.

This study aimed to investigate the feasibility of detecting selenium content in lettuce leaves under complex environments (cadmium-free and cadmium environments) using fluorescence hyperspectral imaging (FHSI). Accordingly, multimodal difference-aware competitive adaptive reweighted sampling (MDCARS) was proposed to select cadmium-related features in complex environments and was integrated with a ResNet-convolutional neural network (RCNN) for the quantitative prediction of selenium content. MDCARS selected features with superior interpretability and model verification outcomes compared with common methods, thereby highlighting its advantages for complex data sources.

Liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) are versatile soft actuators known for their flexible texture, low density, and ability to undergo reversible deformations that mimic the behavior of skeletal muscles. These properties make them highly attractive for applications in exoskeletons, soft robotics, and medical devices. However, their functionality is typically limited to simple and discontinuous deformations.

Three-dimensional (3D) object detection is crucial for autonomous driving, yet current PointPillar feature-based methods face challenges like under-segmentation, overlapping, and false detection, particularly in occluded scenarios. This paper presents a novel dual-stage improved PointPillar feature-based 3D object detection method (S2*-ODM) specifically designed to address these issues. The first innovation is the introduction of a dual-stage pillar feature encoding (S2-PFE) module, which effectively integrates both inter-pillar and intra-pillar relational features.

Titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) is a difficult-to-machine material, known for its excellent physical and chemical properties. However, traditional machining methods incur high tool wear costs when processing this material. The near-dry electrical discharge milling (N-EDM) method, which removes excess material via electroerosion, mitigates the impact of titanium alloy's hardness and strength, enabling effective material cutting.
