Non-continuous flooding (NCF) in rice was recently reported to improve the field-scale, seasonal carbon balance. In this response article, we clarify our system boundaries (seasonal, field-scale), address the role of yield carbon and microbial indicators, and add sensitivity checks with expanded data. Across these checks, NCF consistently reduces methane without penalizing yield, supporting our original conclusions.

Purpose: This study investigated the effects of ischemic conditioning on recovery following high-intensity complex training.
Methods: The study was a randomized controlled trial. Thirty-six participants with at least 1 year of strength-training experience were randomized into 4 groups: control (CON, n = 9), acute ischemic preconditioning (A-IPC, n = 8), repeated ischemic preconditioning (R-IPC, n = 11), and postexercise ischemic conditioning (PEIC, n = 8).
Background: To explore the efficacy of theta burst stimulation (TBS) on the cognitive function of chronic schizophrenia, and to analyze the effect of TBS on brain function using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS).
Methods: One hundred stable chronic schizophrenia patients were selected and divided randomly into the experimental group (50 cases) and control group (50 cases). The experimental group received real TBS stimulation to the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) for 4 weeks, while the control group received sham stimulation to the same site.

Despite substantial efforts dedicated to the design of heuristic models for omnidirectional (i.e., 360°) image quality assessment (OIQA), a conspicuous gap remains due to the lack of consideration for the diversity of viewing behaviors that leads to the varying perceptual quality of 360° images.

CCAAT/enhancer-binding proteins (CEBPs) family are important transcriptional factors in macrophages differentiation physically and pathologically. This study aims to explore the mechanism of CEBPs in TAMs polarization in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) immune microenvironment and its impact on immune checkpoint blockers (ICBs) therapy.

The experimental results indicate that when the cooling rate decreases from 402.5 °C/s to 3.

The aim of this study was to develop and visualize an integrated model to enhance the diagnostic capability of young radiologists in evaluating TNs.
Methods: A retrospective collection of 1,501 ultrasound (US) images of TNs were randomly divided into training and validation sets.
The mechanisms of ultrafast laser-induced demagnetization of ferromagnets have been among the most heavily debated topics in ultrafast magnetism from the very beginning of the field. Here, we demonstrate that the timescale and the efficiency of ultrafast demagnetization of two-dimensional van der Waals ferromagnet FeGeTe, excited by femtosecond laser pulses, can be efficiently accelerated by an external magnetic field. With a 1 T magnetic field at Curie temperature ( ) = 210 K femtosecond laser excitation causes demagnetization of the ferromagnet by 79% within 22.

A more precise molecular classification system for PRAD is urgently needed.
Methods: Through spatial transcriptome analysis, we identified different malignant cell/spot types in PRAD.
Chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) is a debilitating condition characterized by pelvic pain and discomfort, necessitating the exploration of effective therapeutic strategies. This study aimed to elucidate the therapeutic potential of naringin (NAR) in addressing CP/CPPS by examining its role in modulating oxidative stress (OS) and the NLRP3 inflammasome via the PPARγ/NF-κB signaling pathway. Using both animal and cellular models of CP/CPPS, naringin was administered to mice with experimental autoimmune prostatitis (EAP), and the anti-inflammatory effect of naringin was assessed.

Uncovering molecular mechanisms is imperative for fortifying NK cells against degradation and for enhancing their cancer-inhibiting functions.
Methods: TCGA-LUAD database complemented by qRT-PCR presented MEX3A expression in LUAD.
The charge-reversal strategy has been of great significance for enhancing the penetration of nanomedicines in tumors. However, conventional charge reversal has always been confined to pH variation. Herein, we proposed a pH-independent charge-reversal strategy based on hyaluronidase-responsive polycarbonate nanocarriers bearing quaternary ammonium groups.

Non-continuous flooding (NCF) has been recognized as an effective practice for stabilizing rice yields, conserving water, and reducing GHG emissions from rice fields. However, the impacts of NCF on net carbon sequestration (NCS, defined as the total ecosystem GHG equivalent) in rice fields, including CH emissions, NO emissions, photosynthetic carbon sequestration linked to crop yield, and soil organic carbon (SOC) sequestration, have rarely been quantified comprehensively.

Using density functional theory, a series of host molecules labelled as carbazole-fluorene macrocycles (CzFMCs) were designed and characterized to possess high triplet energy levels for application in PhOLEDs, and their accuracy was verified by comparing with experimental values. Our systematic investigation focuses on how the number and position of cyano, ethynyl, and fluoro substitutions affect various electronic properties of these hosts, including triplet energy (), frontier orbital energy levels, absorption spectra, charge-injection barriers, and reorganization energies.

Herein, we designed 14 types of two dimensional conjugated metal-organic frameworks (2D c-MOFs), denoted as PcM-O-M, featuring monometallic dual-atom centers with N and O coordinations, and systematically studied their CORR electrocatalytic performance using density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The monometallic dual-atom centers provide a feasible method for regulating both the metal atom and the coordination environment to enhance catalytic activity.

Glucocorticoid receptor (GR) plays important roles in many diseases including prostate cancer. Intracellular shuttling of GR is thought to be an important mechanism regulating its localization to the nucleus required for transactivation of GR target genes. Here, using fluorescent microscopy coupled with pulse-chase and nucleocytoplasmic fractionation coupled with western blot, we provided evidence that GR can be imported and then degraded in the nucleus in the absence of ligand.
