Azobenzene (Azo) photoswitches have attracted significant attention for developing smart photoresponsive materials owing to their reversible light-induced isomerization between and configurations. However, it is challenging to design an Azo capable of quantitative and efficient → photoisomerization under low-energy photon irradiation, particularly near-infrared (NIR) light above 800 nm. Here, we demonstrate that → photoswitching of Azo can be achieved under 808 nm light irradiation when PbS quantum dots (QDs) are combined with carboxylated Azo (Azo1).

Background: With a focus on postoperative dysfunctions that may occur after maxillofacial tumor resection and the difficulties faced during home rehabilitation, we developed a mobile health app based on nurse-patient cooperation. The app extends rehabilitation care from hospital to home with the help of artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and other technologies, thus helping patients to better carry out their home functional rehabilitation and meet their health needs.
Objective: The primary objective of this quasi-experimental study is to evaluate the impact of the Intelligent Home Rehabilitation Care Platform on the quality of life, self-management, and functional impairment in patients with oral and maxillofacial head and neck tumors.
Purpose: To investigate the effects of oral occlusion exercises on occlusal performance of oral cancer patients who underwent segmental mandibular resection without simultaneous reconstruction.
Methods: From October 2022 to May 2023, a total of 63 oral cancer patients who underwent segmental mandibular resection without reconstruction at the Department of Oromaxillofacial Head and Neck Oncology, Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine were selected. They were randomly divided into control group (30 patients) and experimental group (33 patients).
Purpose: This study aimed to assess the factors that hinder self-oral hygiene management behaviour in patients with oral cancer undergoing radiotherapy to inform intervention programme development.
Materials And Methods: Based on the capability, motivation, and opportunity-behaviour (COM-B) model, a qualitative study was conducted involving 18 patients with oral cancer receiving radiotherapy at a tertiary hospital from March to June 2024. Semi-structured face-to-face interviews were performed to investigate the oral hygiene self-management experience of patients.
Purpose: Head and neck cancer (HNC) survivors may face several challenges when returning to work. Although there are some qualitative studies on the return-to-work experiences of HNC survivors, a comprehensive review of these studies is lacking. This study aimed to systematically evaluate the emotions, experiences, and needs of HNC survivors returning to work.

Lianhua Qingwen (LHQW) is effective in shortening the time to symptom alleviation in patients with influenza, but there is a lack of convincing clinical trials targeting influenza prevention. This study aims to evaluate both efficacy and safety of LHQW in the preventing spread of seasonal influenza among close contacts under a cluster setting.

Quantum dots (QDs), with the unique merits of narrow and tunable photoluminescence (PL) wavelength, high PL quantum yield, have gained significant interest in fields such as display, solar energy conversion, bioimaging, and encrypted quantum communication. On the other hand, photochromic molecular switches (PMS) can undergo reversible interconversion between (at least) two distinct states at the molecular scale upon light irradiation. When combining QDs and PMS, the resulting hybrid systems exhibit synergistic functionalities and light responsiveness, enabling precise and reversible modulation over PL intensity/color, energy/electron transfer, and motion with high temporal and spatial resolution in a non-invasive manner.

Objective: Fungal infection of the external auditory canal, otomycosis, is generally a superficial, but sometimes stubborn mycotic infection that rarely involves the middle ear. We designed a randomized, controlled cohort study to analyse the treatment effect of ear canal lavage on otomycosis.
Methods: The clinical patients were divided into two groups: an irrigation group and an irrigation + local drug treatment control group.
Cryopreservation is typically used for the long-term storage of frozen noodles. However, the long-term cryopreservation of these high-moisture products may cause ice crystal growth on the substrate and crispy product surfaces. The aim of this study was to explore how hydroxypropyl starch (HPS), hydroxypropyl distarch phosphate, and oxidised starch improve the quality and storage stability of frozen raw noodles (FRN).

The Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI) is a simple and practical tool for assessing nutritional status in older adults. This study aims to explore the association between GNRI and adverse post-extubation outcomes in critically ill older adults.

The former is essential to acquire new knowledge and update the database, while the latter filters noise and autorefresh cache data to reduce energy consumption. To execute these functions, the brain relies on different neuromorphic transmitters possessing various memory kinetics, which can be classified as nonvolatile and volatile memory.

Background: Breast cancer is a common malignant tumor that has a high tendency to metastasis to the bone, leading to cancer-induced bone pain (CIBP). Ghrelin can not only stimulate appetite and regulate energy balance, but also alleviate CIBP by inducing NPY expression. Octanoic acid (OA), a type of medium chain fatty acids, provides an energy substrate and promotes acylation of ghrelin.

Background: Oral cancer is one of the most prevalent malignant neoplasms globally, with its microenvironment being extremely complicated and heterogeneous with regard to distribution of different types of cells, which creates a barrier against treatment. We integrated single-cell RNA sequencing, pseudotime analysis, and intercellular communication to identify subtypes, state transitions, and interactions in the development of oral cancer and their roles in tumor progression and immune response.
Methods: Principal component analysis (PCA) followed by dimensionality reduction techniques (UMAP and t-SNE) revealed multiple populations in the single-cell data from oral cancer.

Classical and quantum states working in concert play an essential role in high-precision interferometry. In this regard, coherent combined with squeezed vacuum states are the most promising candidate. Here we complement this subject by comparing nonlinear and nonlinear-linear hybrid interferometers with homodyne detection as a readout strategy.
