Background: Evidence of changes in the composition and function of the gut microbiota (GM) in post-stroke depression (PSD) patients is gradually accumulating. This study aimed to systematically evaluate the relationship between PSD and GM.
Methods: We searched in PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane databases, Wangfang, VIP, CBM, and CNKI from the establishment of the database to April 17, 2024, and systematic review and meta-analysis were performed to investigate the differences of GM between patients with PSD spectrum and healthy controls (HC) or stroke spectrum.
Endometritis is an infectious disease of the female reproductive system and commonly treated with antibiotics. However, the high resistance rates to antibiotics necessitate the urgent research for new and effective therapeutic strategies. The aim of this research is to explore the effect of fucoxanthin (FX) on endometritis through in vitro and in vivo assays.

Background: Esophageal cancer (EC) is a major global health issue characterized by high morbidity and mortality rates, with a notably low five-year survival rate. Comprehensive analyses of the global burden of EC remain limited and outdated, despite its global significance. This study aimed to systematically assess the global burden and trends of esophageal cancer across diverse populations.

Aim: Cutaneous adverse events (CAEs) after treatment with BRAF and MEK inhibitors in patients with melanoma remain incompletely characterized. To determine the association of BRAF and MEK inhibitor treatment with CAEs in patients with melanoma compared with BRAF inhibitor alone.
Method: PubMed, Cochrane, Embase and Web of Science were systematically searched for BRAF and MEK inhibitors from database inception through 10 May 2024.
Background: Pulmonary nodule ablation is an effective method for treating pulmonary nodules. This study is based on the traditional CT-guided percutaneous microwave ablation (MWA) of pulmonary nodules. By comparing laser guidance technology with freehand method, this study aims to explore the safety and efficacy and patients' pain scores of these two approaches.

Background: Hospital water systems represent critical environments for the transmission of pathogens, including multidrug-resistant strains like mucoid Pseudomonas aeruginosa (M-PA). Conventional disinfection methods often struggle to eradicate these pathogens effectively, highlighting the need for innovative approaches.
Objective: This study aimed to develop an enhanced photodynamic disinfection strategy targeting M-PA from hospital water systems, using curcumin-mediated photodynamic inactivation (PDI) with specific spectral range.
Aim: Hypothermia is one of the common complications of cesarean section, which has a serious impact on intraoperative surgical safety and postoperative recovery of pregnant women. Mitigation of the risk factors of hypothermia in pregnant women undergoing cesarean section may reduce the probability of its occurrence and improve the perioperative comfort of pregnant women. Therefore, this study systematically evaluates the influencing factors of hypothermia in patients undergoing cesarean section, aiming to provide references for the prevention of hypothermia in pregnant women undergoing cesarean section.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Based on the core pathogenesis of hepatosplenic disorder and qi transformation disorder in ulcerative colitis, Tong-Xie-Yao-Fang (TXYF) is a classical traditional Chinese medicine commonly used to treat ulcerative colitis. Our study revealed that it has the potential to prevent colitis-associated colorectal cancer, which embodies the academic concept in traditional Chinese medicine of treating the disease before it develops.
Aim Of The Study: This study was aimed at evaluating the therapeutic role of TXYF in treating colitis-associated colorectal cancer and exploring its possible underlying mechanisms.
Large-area flexible transparent conductive films (TCFs) are highly desired for future electronic devices. Nanocarbon TCFs are one of the most promising candidates, but some of their properties are mutually restricted. Here, a novel carbon nanotube network reorganization (CNNR) strategy, that is, the facet-driven CNNR (FD-CNNR) technique, is presented to overcome this intractable contradiction.

We first report a rare case of small multiple GDCs in a woman, which presents as a submucosal tumor (SMT) at the gastric antrum. In consideration of the patient's request for surgical treatment and minimally invasive resection, endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) was performed to remove the cyst.

Metallo-carbapenemases-mediated carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CREs) has been acknowledged as "urgent threat" by the World Health Organization. The discovery of new strategies that block metallo-carbapenemases activity to reverse carbapenem resistance is an urgent need. In this study, a coumarin copper complex containing a PEG linker and glucose ligand, GluC-Cu, was used to reverse carbapenem resistance.

However, there is a lack of feasibility assessments regarding its use for perioperative patient education in thoracic surgery.
Objective: This study aimed to assess the appropriateness and comprehensiveness of using ChatGPT for perioperative patient education in thoracic surgery in both English and Chinese contexts.
Industrial production of single-chirality carbon nanotubes is critical for their applications in high-speed and low-power nanoelectronic devices, but both their growth and separation have been major challenges. Here, we report a method for industrial separation of single-chirality carbon nanotubes from a variety of raw materials with gel chromatography by increasing the concentration of carbon nanotube solution. The high-concentration individualized carbon nanotube solution is prepared by ultrasonic dispersion followed by centrifugation and ultrasonic redispersion.

Non-pharmacological therapies have recently drawn widespread attention for their potential in improving cognitive function. However, the optimal choice of non-pharmacological therapies for post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) is still unclear.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBackground: As one of the most common stroke sequelae, poststroke cognitive impairment significantly impacts 17.6%-83% of survivors, affecting their rehabilitation, daily living and quality of life. Improving cognitive abilities among patients in stroke recovery is therefore critical and urgent.

Background: Arteriovenous fistula (AVF) puncture pain is an inevitable problem for maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients and may seriously endanger the physical and mental health of patients with MHD. Studies have shown that drug or nondrug measures can reduce AVF puncture pain, but much improvement is needed. When combined with compound lidocaine cream (CLC) in the treatment of AVF puncture pain, auricular point acupressure (APA)-a therapeutic method in which specific points on the auricle of the outer ear are stimulated to treat various disorders of the body-and the therapeutic value and synergistic effects of auriculotherapy merit further investigation.
