Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remains one of the most prevalent and lethal cancers globally, making it critical to understand the mechanisms driving its progression and improve prognosis. Moreover, cuproptosis and mitochondrial dysfunction may be involved in lung cancer. Therefore, the present study aimed to identify mitochondrial genes associated with cuproptosis to develop a prognostic model for patients with LUAD, with the potential to predict survival outcomes and responses to treatment.

The Weight-adjusted Waist Index (WWI) is a novel anthropometric indicator for assessing obesity. Given the well-established association between obesity and periodontitis, this cross-sectional clinical study aimed to investigate the relationship between WWI and severe periodontitis while evaluating its potential as a simple predictive marker for periodontitis. The study analyzed periodontal examination data and WWI measurements from participants in the 2009-2014 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), employing weighted logistic regression, smoothed curve fitting, and subgroup analyses.

In order to increase the effectiveness and personalization of music instruction, this paper aims to create a deep reinforcement learning (DRL)-based framework for creating music resources. Therefore, a Melody Generation Model in Music Education Based on Actor-Critic Framework (AC-MGME) is proposed. This model analyzes students' learning status in real time through AC-MGME algorithm, generates melodies that match their abilities, and enhances the polyphonic generation effect by using multi-label classification and attention mechanism.

Design of electrocatalyst combining low overpotential, high selectivity and stability for combating the stability-efficiency-selectivity tradeoff in CO electroreduction remains a crucial challenge. Herein, a hierarchical modulation strategy is proposed for the precise assembly of Boron (B) and Tin (Sn), resulting in novel copper (Cu)-aerogel (BSnCu3) structures with both structural and functional hierarchies for advanced CO electroreduction. Superficial assembled Tin creates Cu protective layer for high stability, the body assembled Boron improves the binding affinity to intermediates and shifts Cu d-band upward for enhanced charge transfer.

Rapid, reliable and accurate interpretation of medical time series signals is crucial for high-stakes clinical decision-making. Deep learning methods offered unprecedented performance in medical signal processing but at a cost: they were compute intensive and lacked interpretability. We propose sparse mixture of learned kernels (SMoLK), an interpretable architecture for medical time series processing.

In this paper, a dielectric-modulated buried source horizontally double-gate TFET-based (DM-BSHDG TFET) biosensors is proposed for detection of biomolecules. The channel partially encloses the buried source, and the drain half surrounds the channel. Horizontally double gate is located above the source and channel.

Objective: Accurate preoperative imaging localization is paramount to the success of targeted parathyroidectomy for primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT). Four-dimensional (4D) CT is a promising method for preoperative localization of the parathyroid, but studies on the performance of 4D CT and technetium 99 m-sestamibi SPECT/CT for the diagnosis of diseases of the parathyroid are limited.

Materials And Methods: To compare the diagnostic performance of sestamibi SPECT/CT and 4D-CT for preoperative localization in patients with PHPT in a single-institution from August 2017 to May 2024.

Nitroaromatic compound (NAC)-contaminated sediments pose threats to aquatic ecosystems. The challenges of low mass transfer in sediments and the recalcitrance of NACs to degradation limit the effectiveness of conventional bioremediation techniques. This study demonstrates the potential of alternating current (AC)-driven bioredox cycling to overcome these barriers by coupling in situ reduction-oxidation processes.

Objective: To compare the efficacy of porcine bone xenografts (PBX) and bovine bone xenografts (BBX) in maxillary sinus floor augmentation (MSFA) and alveolar ridge preservation (ARP), focusing on histomorphometric and radiographic outcomes.

Materials And Methods: A comprehensive online search for relevant studies was conducted using PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, and Scopus, including literature published up to April 2025 (PROSPERO CRD42024628683). The percentage of newly formed bone (NFB) served as the primary outcome.

Benzotriazole UV stabilizer-329 (UV-329), a novel stabilizer used in polymers, has been detected in various environmental matrices and organisms, where it exerts toxic effects. However, the neurotoxic effects and underlying mechanisms of UV-329 remain largely unexplored. In this study, Caenorhabditis elegans was used as a model organism to investigate the neurotoxicity of UV-329 at environmental concentrations (0.

Objective: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a leading cause of cancer-associated mortality. This study aimed to investigate the role of checkpoint kinase 1 (CHEK1) in NSCLC progression and its regulatory relationship with forkhead box protein M1 (FOXM1).

Methods: Transwell assays were used to evaluate the migration and invasion capabilities of NSCLC cells with either CHEK1 overexpression or knockdown.

Unlabelled: Pulmonary sequelae associated with COVID-19 are an increasing concern. Emerging evidence suggests that gut dysbiosis may contribute to post-acute COVID-19 syndromes; yet, the specific link between gut mycobiota and pulmonary sequelae remains unclear. We conducted a prospective study with 46 COVID-19 patients and 37 healthy controls.

LUAD, a prevalent lung cancer with high mortality, has seen increased focus on molecular targeted therapies due to patient heterogeneity. Among these prospects, dystrophin-associated protein 2 (DRP2), a critical component of the dystrophin complex, underpins membrane-associated structures vital for intercellular interactions in vertebrates. Aberrations in DRP2 function have been linked to the occurrence and development of multiple diseases, prompting an inquiry into its potential link with LUAD progression.

Conventional biological wastewater treatments often struggle with efficient sulfide removal. This study presents an innovative and sustainable approach using an alternating current (AC)-powered bioelectrode to facilitate periodic microbial oxidation and reduction for sulfide removal from sulfide-rich organic effluents. The AC bioelectrode addressed the drawbacks of conventional direct current (DC) systems, demonstrating 93.

Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a life-threatening interstitial lung disease, characterized by excessive fibroblast activation and collagen deposition, leading to progressive pulmonary function decline and limited therapeutic efficacy. Here, the inhalable, myofibroblast-targeted, and pH-responsive liposomes (FL-NI) were developed for effective codelivery of nintedanib, a mainstream antifibrotic drug in clinic, and siIL11, a small interfering RNA that silences the key profibrosis cytokine IL-11. Notably, FL-NI achieved a 117.

Background: Percutaneous lung biopsy (PLB) is currently widely utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of lung tumors, owing to its advantages of minimal trauma, high detection rate, and precise localization. However, traditional computed tomography (CT)-guided freehand PLB procedures often involve multiple puncture adjustments and a relatively high incidence of complications. The aim of this study is to investigate whether laser-guided technology can effectively reduce the operative time and incidence of complications.
