The majority of existing clustering algorithms, including those algorithms that focus on boundary detection, seldom account for the reasonableness and genuineness of boundaries, consequently, it is difficult to obtain well-defined boundary in clustering-based regional division. A novel boundary search Clustering algorithm integrating Direction Centrality with the Distance of K-nearest-neighbor (DKCDC) is proposed, which is capable of achieving well-defined regional boundaries, to resolve the challenges mentioned above. Firstly, the preliminary boundary of clusters are established on the basis of boundary points and initial cluster labels obtained by the Clustering algorithm using the local Direction Centrality (CDC).

Neurodegenerative diseases are a class of disorders with the gradual loss of the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system. Neurodegenerative diseases manifest primarily as cognitive and behavioral disorders that adversely affect the lives of millions of people worldwide. Therefore, it is necessary to elucidate the mechanism of neurodegenerative diseases further and find effective new therapies.

The application and evaluation of single-cell foundation models (scFMs) present significant challenges due to heterogeneous architectures and coding standards. To address this, we introduce BioLLM (biological large language model), a unified framework for integrating and applying scFMs to single-cell RNA sequencing analysis. BioLLM provides a unified interface that integrates diverse scFMs, eliminating architectural and coding inconsistencies to enable streamlined model access.

However, current approaches for tracking brain metabolism, metabolic profiling and respirometry, provide only static snapshots of metabolite levels or lack the required resolution. Here, we develop a novel nanowatt-resolution biocalorimeter capable of real-time continuous measurements of heat output to quantitatively measure the metabolism of individual live brains and investigate how sex, genotype, age, and disease affect brain metabolism.

While extensive research has focused on optimizing plasmid design, host cell characteristics, and selection strategies to enhance cell line development, this study specifically investigates strategic expression plasmid design to improve both productivity and product quality of therapeutic proteins in Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells using transposon technology. Our findings demonstrate that increasing light chain and heavy chain copy numbers while maintaining balanced expression significantly enhances productivity and mitigates purity risks.

To examine the spatiotemporal evolution and develop a forecasting model of public attention to China's five major religions (Buddhism, Taoism, Catholicism, Christianity and Islam), this study introduces geographic information system technology, forecasting technology and spatiotemporal analysis methods into religious research, using Baidu Index data from 2020 to 2024. The results show that most religions exhibit stable annual public attention, although significant changes occur during specific seasons, festivals or events.

Objective: To analyze the sequencing results, protein structure model, and impact of mutations on the dynamic stability of glycosyltransferase (GTA) in a case with Aw26 blood group subtype.
Methods: ABO phenotype was determined by serological testing (anti-A, anti-B, anti-H, and reverse typing). Potential variant of the ABO gene was identified by Sanger sequencing, and the haploid sequence of the variant site was analyzed by TOPOT-A cloning.
Yangyin Tongnao Granules (YYTN) is a traditional Chinese medicinal prescription that has been proposed to offer value as a treatment for ischemic stroke (IS). The mechanistic basis for its function, however, remains to be established. This study investigates the molecular mechanism of YYTN in treating IS through the HIF-1 signaling pathway.

Although many observational studies have indicated an association between DM and BC, the causal relationship of DM and BC prognosis remained uncertain and the molecular mechanisms underlying BC-DM are largely unclear. In this study, we used causal inference methods, including g-computation (GC), inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW), targeted maximum likelihood estimation (TMLE), and TMLE-super learner (TMLE-SL), to comprehensively analyze the association of DM with BC mortality in a cohort of 3386 BC patients.

Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a severe disease characterized by significant pulmonary vascular remodeling and right ventricular dysfunction. Activated fibroblasts can induce collagen deposition around blood vessels, thereby promoting vascular hardening and PAH development. Fibroblast activation protein (FAP) is a proline-specific serine protease expressed in active fibroblasts that is closely associated with tissue remodeling, inflammation, fibrosis, tumor growth, and cellular proliferation.

However, the underlying mechanism related to renal fibrosis remains not fully understood.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to elucidate the protective effects and mechanism of FPS against renal fibrosis with a focus on gut-kidney axis.

Following the relaxation of non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) post COVID-19, there has been a global increase in MPP cases and macrolide-resistant strains. Vaccination against is being explored as a promising approach to reduce infections, limit antibiotic misuse, and prevent the emergence of drug-resistant variants.

Understanding the evolution of broadly neutralizing antibody (bNAb) activity in people living with HIV is crucial for vaccine design and immunization strategies. It has been proposed that antibody cross-reactive activity is associated with lower CD4 T cell counts during people living with HIV, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. To further explore the correlation between antibody reactivity and CD4 T cell counts, we recruited people living with HIV with varying CD4 T cell counts: (i) CD4 T cell ≤50 cells/μL, (ii) 50 cells/μL < CD4 T cell ≤200 cells/μL, (iii) 200 cells/μL < CD4 T cell ≤500 cells/μL, (iv) 500 cells/μL < CD4 T cell.

However, effective microbiota-targeted interventions remain limited. This study evaluated the efficacy of a dietary supplement combining propolis and lysozyme (PL) in mitigating feline oral health issues, based on a cohort of 24 cats divided equally into placebo, treatment, and healthy control groups ( = 8 per group).

Yet, the molecular mechanisms driving spatially heterogeneous root-microbe interactions mediated by secreted flavonoids remain unexplored. Using GmHAD1-2 suppression line (Ri) and wild-type (WT), we demonstrated that root-secreted flavonoids, particularly genistein, drive spatial differentiation of root allocation and rhizosphere microbial communities in intercropped soybean with maize, specifically under low-P conditions.
