Acid rain is a global environmental problem that mobilizes heavy metals in soils, while the distribution and geochemical fraction of heavy metals during acid rain infiltration in heterogeneous soils are still unclear. In this study, we performed column experiments to investigate the distribution and geochemical fraction of Cu, Pb, Ni and Cd in heterogeneously layered soils during continuous acid rain infiltration. Chloride ion used as a conservative tracer was found to be uniformly distributed during acid rain infiltration, showing insignificant preferential flow effects in the column.

Considering the possible interaction between mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and PI3Kγ-associated drugs, we evaluated the efficacy and action mechanism of MSCs in the treatment of colitis in PI3Kγ-/- mice. Trinitro-benzene-sulfonic acid enema was used to create a colitis model, and MSCs were transplanted through the caudal vein to treat colitis in wild-type and PI3Kγ-/- mice. We sequenced microbial 16S rRNA genes in the colonic mucosa of PI3Kγ-/- and wild-type mice and quantified colonic IgA, IL-2, IL-10, IL-17A, occludin, and serum IgA.

Hydrogen sulfide (HS), a highly toxic gas, has become a polluting gas that cannot be ignored, while HS exposure results in acute or chronic poisoning or even death in humans or animals and plants, but the relevant mechanisms remain poorly understood. In this study, 9-day-old zebrafish larvae were exposed continuously to culture medium containing 30 μM survival rate was counted on HS, and our results indicated that HS exposure increased intracellular ROS, Ca, NO and MDA contents and decreased SOD activity, meaning that HS caused oxidative stress in embryo-larval stages of zebrafish. Furthermore, we found that transgenic zebrafish (cms Tg/+ AB) displayed a lower fluorescence intensity, and cytochrome c oxidase (COX) activity and JC-1 monomer fluorescence ratio increased under HS treatment conditions.
