Myocardial infarction (MI), induced by ischemia and hypoxia of the coronary arteries, presents as myocardial necrosis. Patients often experience intense, prolonged retrosternal pain that is unrelieved by rest or nitrate therapy and is frequently associated with high blood myocardial enzyme levels. Physical effort may exacerbate this anxiety, increasing the likelihood of life-threatening consequences such as arrhythmias, shock, or cardiac failure.

Over the last decades, the traditional 'Homo economicus' model has been increasingly challenged by converging evidence highlighting the critical impact of emotions on decision-making. A classic example is the perception of unfairness in the Ultimatum Game, where humans willingly sacrifice personal gains to punish fairness norm violators. While emotional mechanisms underlying such costly punishment are widely acknowledged, the distinct contributions of moral emotions, particularly anger and disgust, remain debated, partly due to methodological limitations in conventional experiments.

To advance the commercial utilization of aqueous electrochemical devices for grid-scale energy storage, it is crucial to address the current limitations related to energy density and cycle stability. Indeed, the lack of high-performance cathodes is still an obstructive issue, not to mention the limited capacities related to the monotonic cation intercalation/deintercalation mechanism. Fortunately, conversion chemistries with redox reactions bring a new dimension, where materials with multiple valence states facilitate multi-electron redox reactions, offering the potential for high-energy-density storage.

Postoperative peritoneal adhesion, driven by inflammatory response and fibrotic deposition, remains the most common complication following abdominal surgeries, with limited effective solutions. Herein, a dual-network hydrogel patch (GPSB) is developed for effective peritoneal adhesion prevention through interpenetrating a gelatin network with a zwitterionic polysulfobetaine (PSB) network. The biodegradable gelatin network is dynamically crosslinked zinc ion (Zn)-polyphenol coordination, endowing the patch with inherent antibacterial and pro-healing activities.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) induces a prolonged inflammatory response throughout the damaged brain, which is exacerbated by the sustained accumulation of damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs), and consequently impairs endogenous neural regeneration significantly. To mitigate postinjury inflammation and explore the role of positively charged scaffolds in brain repair, two distinct structures of positively charged scaffolds were developed. Both scaffold types effectively reduce inflammation and promote brain tissue repair by eliminating DAMPs, markedly reducing glial scar formation, and promoting angiogenesis in peritrauma areas within 4 weeks of implantation.
