The disposal of municipal solid waste incineration fly ashes (MSWI-FA) is complicated by soluble chlorides, which increase the risk of heavy metals (HMs) leaching toxicity and hinder the further use of remediated MSWI-FA. In this study, the self-assembly potentiality of magnesium oxychloride cement (MOC) in geopolymerization was explored and utilized to enhance the solidification/stabilization (S/S) of the MSWI-FA. The MOC-self-assembled geopolymerization kinetics can be suitably described by the JMAK model.

Introduction: Tripartite interaction among teachers, parents, and young children is a cornerstone of early childhood education, especially in China's parent-child programs designed to support children's development and enhance parental engagement. Despite their intentions, these interactions often follow rigid patterns, limit children's agency, and involve minimal communication between adults. This research investigates the dynamics and challenges of such tripartite interactions within Chinese preschools.

The construction of built-in electric field (BIEF) in heterojunction is an effective strategy to enhance solar-driven hydrogen (H) production by minimizing charge carrier recombination and improving transport kinetics. Herein, p-type ternary sulfide CuGaS (CGS) and n-type g-CN nanosheets (CN) are integrated to construct a p-n heterojunction through a simple co-precipitation method for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). In situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (in situ XPS), in situ electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and density functional theory (DFT) calculations revealed that differences in Fermi levels and carrier concentrations between CGS and CN induce charge migration following an S-scheme mechanism, which aligned well with the intrinsic p-n junction field.

In the digital era, leveraging search engine data to gain insights into public interests and attitudes towards religion has become increasingly important. To examine the spatiotemporal evolution and develop a forecasting model of public attention to China's five major religions (Buddhism, Taoism, Catholicism, Christianity and Islam), this study introduces geographic information system technology, forecasting technology and spatiotemporal analysis methods into religious research, using Baidu Index data from 2020 to 2024. The results show that most religions exhibit stable annual public attention, although significant changes occur during specific seasons, festivals or events.

Cement, widely used for backfill grouting in shield tunnels, plays a crucial role in maintaining the stability of tunnel structures. To enhance the prediction of cement performance, this study focuses on the elastic modulus () and introduces a novel prediction model based on machine learning─the improved Convolutional Long Short-term Memory (ConvLSTM) model. The model is structured into two key components: differentiating parameter importance and extracting potential spatiotemporal order dependence among features.

The carbon-layer-induced intermediate escape confinement effect improves electrocatalytic C-C coupling by reducing the diffusion of intermediates, thereby maintaining a high local concentration of these intermediates. Guided by finite element analysis simulations, CuSn(OH)@C was synthesized with varying carbon layer thicknesses. The findings demonstrate that the thickness of the carbon layer significantly influences the diffusion behavior of C intermediates within the catalyst's internal space during the CO electroreduction reaction (CORR).

Silicon (Si) is recognized as a promising anode material for next-generation lithium-ion batteries owing to its exceptionally high lithium storage capacity. Recently, micro-sized Si (micro-Si) based anodes have re-emerged as alternatives to nano-sized Si (nano-Si) owing to their higher tap density and reduced interfacial side reactions. Considerable efforts are devoted to addressing the rapid capacity decay caused by severe volume expansion, sluggish kinetics, and continuous accumulation of the solid electrolyte interphase.

Quantum geometry, including Berry curvature and the quantum metric, of the electronic Bloch bands has been studied via nonlinear responses in topological materials. Naturally, these material systems with intrinsic strong nonlinear responses also form the key component in nonlinear electronic devices. However, the previous reported quantum geometry effects are mainly observed at cryogenic temperatures, hindering their application in practical devices.

Graphite anodes have approached their theoretical specific capacity of 372 mA h g, which becomes an obstacle for further increasing the energy density of commercial lithium-ion batteries. Various strategies have been proposed to enhance the energy density of graphite-based full batteries, such as decreasing the usage of inactive binders and conductive additives and exploring graphite/SiO composite anodes. Nevertheless, the anodes cannot balance energy density, power density, and cycling stability.

Excessive intake of fluorine (F) over time can lead to acute or chronic fluorosis. In this study, a novel Fe-Ce-based layered hydroxide composite (DD-LHC) was synthesized and applied in both batch and column modes to develop new adsorbent materials and to obtain efficient removal of fluorine (F) anions from wastewater. DD-LHC achieved better adsorption results and material stability compared to green rusts (GR, Fe-Fe hydroxide).

Layered oxides, one of the most fascinating cathodes for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs), have appropriate voltage window and feasible preparation process, however, cycling stability is the biggest challenge. Element doping is the most rational strategy to address this problem, but six-coordinated octahedral radii and different radii in different valence states of these doping elements and the functions of these elements need to be taken into account. Hence, an example of P2/O3-type NaMnNiFeMgVCoCuZnSnO (high-entropy-doped layered oxides, HEO) has been designed in consideration of moderate six-coordinated octahedral radii and stabling the metal-oxygen bond.

The structural transformations of coordination polymers not only contribute to structural diversity but also provide design strategies at the molecular level for developing a new generation of smart materials. In this work, a photoinert olefin-containing coordination chain {[Zn(HO)(5-NO-1,3-BDC)(3,3'-dpe)]·HO} () was prepared by the hydrothermal reaction between Zn(NO)·6HO, 1,2-di(pyridin-3-yl)ethene (3,3'-dpe), and 5-nitro-1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid (5-NO-1,3-HBDC). After replacing the 5-NO-1,3-HBDC ligand in the solution of with 5-methyl-1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid (5-Me-1,3-HBDC), a unique two-dimensional photoreactive coordination network [Zn(5-Me-1,3-BDC)(3,3'-dpe)] () was formed.

Four polysaccharide fractions (designated as ZLPF-60, ZLPF-70, ZLPF-80, and ZLPF-90), extracted from the swollen culms of Zizania latifolia, were obtained by precipitation with varying ethanol concentrations (60, 70, 80, and 90 %, v/v). Their physicochemical properties and in vitro cosmetic benefits, including antioxidant activity, moisture absorption capacity, moisturizing efficacy, and whitening effect, were investigated. The results demonstrated that, with increasing ethanol concentration, the combined content of uronic acids and sulfates, zeta potential, and average molecular weight (Mw) decreased, while the particle size initially increased and then decreased.

Electrical control over spin in spintronics has many advantages over magnetic control such as improved efficiency, reduced energy consumption, enhanced compatibility and faster response. However, direct electrical control also has its disadvantage due to its volatility feature, and thus indirect electrical control with the aid of ferroelectric materials is much more attractive. In this work, we propose another indirect electrical control strategy based on sliding ferroelectricity to achieve half-metallicity in antiferromagnetic bilayer NbS.
