Objectives: To identify and quantify clonic seizures in children, we retrospectively reviewed the clinical symptoms and neurophysiology of them.
Methods: Data were obtained from 24 patients presenting with 34 clonic seizures, and their video-electroencephalography (EEG) recordings were examined for symptomatology and ictal EEG characteristics. Additionally, synchronous electromyography (EMG) data from 17 patients were analyzed.
Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) acts as a damage-associated molecular pattern to activate the stimulator of interferon genes (STING) signaling in macrophages, promoting tissue inflammation. However, its role in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) remains unclear. Macrophage-specific knockout mice were used to validate STING's pathological role in AMI.

The underlying mechanism by which JP regulates metabolism to retard SLE progression has not yet been fully elucidated.
Aim Of The Study: This study aims to investigate whether JP attenuates renal injury in MRL/lpr lupus-prone mice by suppressing hyperactivation of the pentose phosphate pathway (PPP) and its mediated oxidative stress.
Introduction: This study aimed to explore the association between elevated estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and poor prognosis in pediatric patients with community-acquired bacterial meningitis (BM) receiving vancomycin.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study included children aged 1 month to 18 years with community-acquired BM admitted to the Department of Neurology, Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University (CHCMU) from 2013 to 2023. Relevant information for all patients was collected, and clinical outcomes were assessed using the Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS) at the time of discharge.
The pharmacological effects of the natural product triptonoterpene have been scarcely documented. In our preliminary investigations, we identified that triptonoterpene possesses the capacity to impede the invasion and migration of gastric cancer (GC) cells. We are committed to further exploring the potential extensive effects of triptonoterpene on GC and to clarifying its exact mechanism of action.

The ultimate goal was to inform evidence-based training strategies and enhance cardiopulmonary function assessment in this population.
Methods: Forty healthy male college students were recruited to complete three incremental treadmill protocols: Ellestad A, Ellestad B, and Bruce.
This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the effects of stroboscopic training on sport-specific performance in collegiate athletes and examined the moderating influence of key training parameters. A comprehensive literature search was conducted across multiple databases. The risk of bias in the included studies was assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool.

Autoimmune psychosis presents with isolated psychiatric symptoms, responds to immunotherapy, and differs from typical autoimmune encephalitis. Previous study has proposed an approach to identifying autoimmune psychosis, however, further research remains necessary to enhance our understanding of this condition.

A total of 310 patients with lung cancer who received systemic anticancer therapy were recruited as the research participants by convenience sampling. The fatigue-pain-sleep disturbance symptom cluster was assessed using the Cancer Fatigue Scale, Brief Pain Inventory, and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index.

Mutations in the gene can lead to different clinical phenotypes, few articles have reported the clinical phenotypes in detail and explained the relationship between genotype and phenotype. The clinical data of cases with gene mutations diagnosed in our center and reported in previous studies were collected. The cases were divided into three groups based on phenotype; the differences of clinical manifestation and genotype among groups were analyzed.

This study proposes a force-driven recognition strategy that anchors conformationally constrained short loops at DNA origami edges, leveraging entropy compensation to enable large-scale nanostructure assembly. Precise thermoresponsive control across distinct temperature regimes is achieved by modulating nucleobase types and ultraviolet (UV) irradiation.

Background: The study aims to evaluate the efficacy of a web-based dynamic nomogram predicting the risk of heart failure (HF)-related rehospitalization within 1 year in patients with HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).
Methods: The data of patients from two centers were categorized into training and test sets. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator and multivariate logistic regression analysis were conducted on the training set data after selecting risk factors described in previous studies, and they were used to set up a nomogram.

Objectives: The purpose of this research is to clarify the connection between the serum Klotho levels and diabetic kidney disease (DKD) in American adults with diabetes.
Methods: Statistic from the 2007-2016 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey was used to explore correlation between Klotho levels and the risk of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) with multivariate linear regression models. Smoothed curve fitting was conducted to find potential non-linear relationships.

Flavor is one of the important indicators of food quality, and the development of rapid detection methods for key flavor substances is crucial for the intelligent evaluation of food flavor. Herein, umami receptor T1R1-VFT and olfactory receptor Mor1-1 were used as sensitive elements to specifically recognize umami substances and hexanal molecules. Combining the excellent biocompatibility and electrochemical activity of AuPtNPs and hydrogels, the receptors are well immobilized in the three-dimensional network structure, thereby a multichannel biomimetic sensor for multiple detection of umami and hexanal was constructed.

It is primarily synthesized in roots of tea plants and transported to new shoots, where it is mainly distributed to the young stem; however, tea is predominantly produced from young leaves. To promote more theanine allocation to young leaves, the molecular mechanism underlying theanine distribution between stems and leaves requires elucidation.

Background: The clinical efficacy of botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) injections for the treatment in primary axillary hyperhidrosis is a subject of ongoing debate. This study aims to consolidate and analyze the available evidence regarding the use of BTX-A as a therapeutic intervention for this conclusion.
Method: This study was conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines and registered with PROSPERO.
Background: Seminoma is a malignant tumor arising from testicular germ cells, with cryptorchidism recognized as a major risk factor for its development. Although retroperitoneal lymph node metastasis is common, renal metastasis is exceedingly rare. Testicular seminomas are generally highly sensitive to chemotherapy; however, the treatment and prognosis become significantly more challenging in cases of distant metastasis.

Methods: We conducted a multicentre, single-arm trial between February 2021 and August 2023. Patients with TAK unresponsive to at least 6 months of TNF-α inhibitors were treated with baricitinib 4 mg daily for up to 48 weeks, while continuing of immunosuppressants and glucocorticoids.
Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are the initiating cells of tumorigenesis, metastasis, and recurrence and play a crucial role in androgen deprivation therapy resistance, yet how sphingolipid metabolism promotes CSC maintenance remains exclusive. Here, we conducted gene expression profiling of sphere-derived castration-resistant prostate cancer stem cells (PCSCs) and identified enhanced sphingolipid de novo biosynthesis with upregulated DEGS2 expression in PCSCs. Silencing of DEGS2 significantly suppressed prostate cancer stem-like traits, cell growth, clonogenicity, and metastasis, while ectopic overexpression of DEGS2 showed the opposite effects.
