Background: Post-stroke limb spasticity (PSLS) is a rehabilitation problem that needs to be solved urgently, electroacupuncture (EA), a safe and effective adjunctive rehabilitation therapy with relatively few side effects, and botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) can improve motor function; however, it is not clear whether EA combined with BTX-A is more effective in improving PSLS. This study will investigate the effects and mechanisms of EA combined with BTX-A to improve PSLS in rats.
Methods: PSLS rat model was prepared and treated with EA, BTX-A, or EA+BTX-A, Zea longa, modified Ashworth, and modified neurological severity score to assess the changes of neurological function and dystonia, and to observe the cerebral infarction condition, fibers changes of gastrocnemius muscle, common peroneal nerve pathology morphology, changes of neural repair factors and GDNF/BDNF/TrkB signaling pathway in the rats, respectively.
Sleep deprivation critically disrupts physiological homeostasis, impairing development, metabolic balance, and immune regulation, with excessive neutrophil activation being a hallmark consequence. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying sleep deprivation-induced neutrophilic inflammation remain elusive. Here, it is shown that acute sleep deprivation in mice triggers neutrophil hyperactivation, resulting in aberrant peripheral accumulation and a systemic cytokine storm.

Large-scale graph data poses a training scalability challenge, which is generally treated by employing batch sampling methods to divide the graph into smaller subgraphs and train them in batches. However, such an approach introduces a topological bias in the local batches compared with the complete graph structure, missing either node features or edges. This topological bias is empirically shown to affect the generalization capabilities of graph neural networks (GNNs).

Purpose: To evaluate the prognostic value of high-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) viral load in long-term survival of cervical cancer (CC) patients.
Methods: Two hundred and twenty-nine CC patients from 2009 to 2013 who underwent radiochemotherapy (RCT) or plus hyperthermia (HT) were recruited. HPV type 16, 18, 58 DNA was detected by in situ hybridization (ISH) and either HR-HPV type with the highest intensive signals was chosen as the evaluating target.
Coagulation conditioning is a key step for sludge dewatering, while the control of optimal coagulant dosing is still a challenge. This study proposes an intelligent system for the precise management of coagulants (IIS) in sludge conditioning. This system was assembled using an electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS)-based sensor and a decision-making model to conduct the self-perception, decision-making, execution, and dosage optimization in sludge conditioning through a feedback-driven exploratory trial process, conceptually inspired by structured exploration behavior observed in primates.

Dissolved organic matter (DOM), a crucial soil component, actively modulates both bacterial metabolism and HM mobilization. Despite its significance, our understanding of the complex interactions among bacterial communities, soil chemical and DOM properties, and HM fractionation remains limited.

The pathological process involves complex mechanisms such as oxidative stress, inflammation, and neuron apoptosis. Current treatment strategies focusing on the relief of oxidative stress and inflammation have achieved good effects, while many problems and challenges remain such as the side effect and short half-life of the therapeutic agents.

However, social networks not only amplify the popularity bias in recommendation models, resulting in more frequent recommendation of hot items and fewer long-tail items, but also include a substantial amount of redundant information that is essentially meaningless for the model's performance. Existing social recommendation models often integrate the entire social network directly, with little effort to filter or adjust social information to mitigate popularity bias introduced by the social network.

However, one efficient strategy to modify both the anode and cathode is still lacking. Herein, taurine (Tau), the key ingredient of energy drinks, is used as the electrolyte additive and carbon precursor for ZIHCs simultaneously.

Redox imbalance induced by the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) accelerates age-related processes, often accompanied by a decrease in circadian rhythm amplitude. However, the underlying mechanisms by which ROS modulate circadian rhythms remain poorly understood. In this study, we found that ROS disrupt circadian rhythms in both zebrafish, as indicated by changes in diurnal behavior and clock gene expression, and in a human cell model.

Treatment options for advanced or recurrent UCCC are currently limited, especially after platinum-based chemotherapy has failed.
Case Presentation: We present the case of a 49-year-old female diagnosed with stage IV uterine clear cell carcinoma.

Wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) with a special arc mode of cold metal transfer pulse advanced (CMT-PADV) is an ideal additive manufacturing process for fabricating aerospace components, primarily high-strength aluminum alloys, offering advantages such as high deposition rates and low cost. However, the numerical simulation of the CMT-PADV WAAM process has not been researched until now. In this study, we first developed a three-dimensional fluid dynamics model for the CMT-PADV WAAM of 7075 aluminum alloy, aiming at analyzing the droplet transition and molten pool flow.

Objective: To investigate the effects of Curcumol on the malignant biological characteristics of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells and its molecular mechanism, and to provide theoretical and experimental evidence for the anti-leukemia treatment of traditional Chinese medicine.
Methods: After the AML cell lines HL-60 and KG-1 cells were treated different concentrations of with Curcumol. The proliferation activity of cells was detected by CCK-8 method, and the expression changes of apoptotic proteins and PI3K/AKT signaling pathway proteins were detected by Western blot.
Three lanthanum morphology materials encompassing all lanthanum composites were synthesized by the direct precipitation method, and their phosphate adsorption order was determined as La(CO) > La(OH) > LaO. Further comparison of the adsorption performance between La(CO) and La(OH) revealed that the former exhibited a twofold higher rate of adsorption compared to the latter. The presence of SO, HCO, Mg, and HA in the water led to a decrease in the phosphate adsorption of La(CO) and La(OH), while Ca enhances the adsorption of phosphoric acid by both materials.

Silk sutures are common in surgeries, and silk-based textiles are widely used in clinical medicine on account of their great mechanical properties and biodegradability. However, due to the lack of biocatalytic activity, silk sutures show unsatisfactory anti-inflammatory properties and healing speed. To address this constraint, we construct clinical grade bioactive gold cluster-sutures through a heterojunction.
