In chili cultivation, obstacles to continuous cropping significantly compromise crop yield and soil health, whereas crop rotation can enhance the microbial environment of the soil and reduce disease incidence. However, its effects on the diversity of rhizosphere soil microbial communities are not clear. In this study, we analyzed the composition and characteristics of rhizosphere soil microbial communities under chili continuous cropping (CC) and chili-cotton crop rotation (CR) using high-throughput sequencing technology.

Background And Purpose: Melatonin supplementation has shown potential benefits in the management of diabetes in clinical trials; however, prior meta-analyses have not specifically focused on individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This study investigates the efficacy of melatonin supplementation in improving glycemic control among patients with T2DM by systematically reviewing and analyzing data from randomized controlled trials (RCTs).

Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted in PubMed, Cochrane Library, Scopus, Web of Science, and Embase from their inception to September 2024.

Introduction: Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is a common complication following various surgical procedures, significantly contributing to patient discomfort and increasing healthcare costs. Despite the widespread use of multiple drug combinations, PONV remains a persistent challenge, particularly in high-risk populations. Existing evidence suggests a potential interaction between 5-HT3 receptors and μ-opioid receptors, indicating that they may function as co-receptors with a competitive relationship.

Metal nanoparticles have been emerged as promising candidates in cancer therapy because of their large surface area, optical properties and ROS generation. Therefore, these nanoparticles are able to mediate cell death through hyperthermia, photothermal therapy and ROS-triggered apoptosis. The various metal nanoparticles including gold, silver and iron oxide nanostructures have been exploited for the theranostic application.

Background: The process of waking up from general anesthesia is still not well understood, and recovery issues such as delayed awakening, agitation, postoperative cognitive dysfunction, continue to be a challenge for anesthesiologists. Currently, the treatment of these complications is mainly achieved through the antagonistic action of specific drugs, but sometimes the antagonistic drugs are not as effective as they should be and can add to the financial burden of the patient. Acupuncture, a common treatment in Traditional Chinese Medicine, is widely used around surgery.

Background: Sodium vanadium fluorophosphate is a sodium ion superconductor material with high sodium ion mobility and excellent cyclic stability, making it a promising cathode material for sodium-ion batteries. However, most of the literature and patents report preparation through traditional methods, which involve complex processes, large particle sizes, and low electronic conductivity, thereby limiting development progress.

Objective: Aiming at the limitation of high cost and poor performance of vanadium sodium fluorophosphate cathode material, the low temperature and high-efficiency nano preparation technology was developed.

Wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) with a special arc mode of cold metal transfer pulse advanced (CMT-PADV) is an ideal additive manufacturing process for fabricating aerospace components, primarily high-strength aluminum alloys, offering advantages such as high deposition rates and low cost. However, the numerical simulation of the CMT-PADV WAAM process has not been researched until now. In this study, we first developed a three-dimensional fluid dynamics model for the CMT-PADV WAAM of 7075 aluminum alloy, aiming at analyzing the droplet transition and molten pool flow.

Background: The existing body of research concerning the impact of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) on early postoperative recovery is marked by a lack of consensus. This meta-analysis, encompassing a systematic review of randomised controlled trials, seeks to critically assess the efficacy of TEAS in relation to awakening from general anaesthesia in the postoperative period.

Methods: The inclusion criteria for this study were peer-reviewed randomised controlled trials that evaluated the influence of TEAS on the process of regaining consciousness following general anaesthesia.

Background: Inflammatory cytokines and migraines have been associated in previous research, but the underlying mechanisms of action are still elusive. The biological functions of metabolites are crucial in the onset of migraine. Our goals were to clarify the cause-and-effect connection between inflammatory cytokines and migraines and explore the potential mediating function of metabolites.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of various acupuncture treatments in conjunction with multimodal analgesia (MA) for managing postoperative pain and improving knee function in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA), based on the findings from clinical research indicating the potential benefits of acupuncture-related therapies in this context.

Methods: We searched Web of Science, PubMed, SCI-hub, Embase, Cochrane Library, China Biology Medicine (CBM), China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data, and Chinese Scientific Journal Database (VIP) to collect randomized controlled trials of acupuncture-related therapies for post-TKA pain. After independent screening and data extraction, the quality of the included literature was evaluated.

PANoptosis is an inflammatory programmed cell death (PCD) regulated by multifaceted PANoptosome complexes with major features of pyroptosis, apoptosis, and/or necroptosis that cannot be accounted for by any of these PCD pathways alone. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of PANoptosis on the occurrence and development of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). Clinical samples of patients with AAA, angiotensin II (ANG II)-induced AAA mouse model, and ANG II-induced vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) in vitro model were used for investigation on PANoptosis features.

Background: Postoperative ileus (POI) is one of the main complications after colorectal cancer (CRC) surgery, and there is still a lack of effective treatment. At present, the evidence for improvement of POI by invasive acupuncture (manual acupuncture and electroacupuncture, IA) is limited. This meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) aims to systematically review and evaluate the effect of IA in improving POI after CRC surgery.

Neostigmine is a clinical cholinesterase inhibitor, that is, commonly used to enhance the function of the cholinergic neuromuscular junction. Recent studies have shown that neostigmine regulates the immune-inflammatory response through the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway, affecting perioperative neurocognitive function. This article reviews the relevant research evidence over the past 20 years, intending to provide new perspectives and strategies for the clinical application of neostigmine.

Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) have the highest incidence and rupture rate of all aortic aneurysms. The N6 methyladenosine (m6A) modification is closely associated with angiotensin (Ang II)-induced aortic diseases. This study aimed to identify whether the m6A writer METTL3/METTL4 regulates rip3 mRNA expression in AAA.

Coordination tuning electronic structure of host materials is a quite effective strategy for activating and improving the intrinsic properties. Herein, halogen anion (X)-incorporated β-FeOOH (β-FeOOH(X), X = F, Cl, and Br) was investigated with a spontaneous adsorption process, which realized a great improvement of supercapacitor performances by adjusting the coordination geometry. Experiments coupled with theoretical calculations demonstrated that the change of Fe-O bond length and structural distortion of β-FeOOH, which is rooted in halogen ions embedment, led to the relatively narrow band gap.
