Herein, we synthesized Ni-rich, Ru-doped NiO nanoparticles (Ru-NiO) through a two-step thermal treatment method. As an OER catalyst, the obtained Ru-NiO exhibited a low overpotential of 220 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm and a Tafel slope of 78 mV dec in alkaline media, outperforming NiO-based electrocatalysts prepared the conventional sol-gel synthesis method and conventional calcination synthesis method.

Background: Cognitive decline in postmenopausal women is a growing public health concern, with estrogen deficiency linked to brain aging. However, the role of the brain's lymphatic-like system-assessed via the diffusion tensor imaging along the perivascular space (DTI-ALPS) index-in mediating estrogen-cognitive associations remains unclear. This study investigated whether the DTI-ALPS index mediates the relationship between estrogen levels and cognitive function in postmenopausal women.

Tin disulfide (SnS) with high theoretical capacity has been regarded as a promising candidate for sodium-ion capture, but it still encounters challenges of sluggish ion-storage kinetics and performance decay caused by its poor intrinsic conductivity and volume change. Here, we successfully address the aforementioned issues of SnS by synthesizing hollow ZnS/SnS microboxes embedded in sulfur-doped graphene (ZnS/SnS@SG) through a macro (soft/hard interface) to micro (heterogeneous) interface engineering design. The resulting ZnS/SnS@SG displays superior capacitive deionization (CDI) performance, including an impressive desalination capacity (109.

Although many human diseases have been confirmed to be inextricably linked with circRNAs, whether circRNAs have a potential regulatory function in the osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSCs) remains to be further elucidated. In a previous study by our team, all the differentially expressed circRNAs and messenger RNAs (mRNAs) involved in the osteogenic differentiation of BMMSCs were identified via high-throughput sequencing, and a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) regulatory network was constructed via bioinformatics analysis.

In this study, 3D TiCT MXene hollow microsphere (MHM) is constructed, and a systematic defect passivation and transformation approach is presented to achieve the high stability of MHM when employed as electrode material in capacitive desalination (CDI). Metal atom vanadium (V) and non-metal atoms nitrogen (N) and sulfur (S) are meticulously selected to modulate the defect environment of TiCT MXene.

The relationship between bacteria and disease has received much attention and intensive investigation, while that of the fungal microbiome, also known as mycobiome, has lagged far behind bacteria. There is growing evidence showing mycobiome dysbiosis in cancer patients, and certain cancer-specific fungi may contribute to cancer progression by interacting with both host and bacteria.

Parkinson's disease (PD), a common neurodegenerative disease, seriously impacts the quality of life of patients. In recent years, research has revealed that the GABAergic signaling pathway plays an important role in the occurrence and development of PD. GABA is an important inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system (CNS), synthesized through the alpha decarboxylation reaction of glutamate (Glu) under the action of glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) in GABAergic neurons.
