Objectives: This study investigates the clinical efficacy of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in alleviating constipation in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) via the gut-brain axis.
Methods: Fifty-eight PD patients with constipation, admitted from May 2023 to December 2024, were randomly assigned to an rTMS treatment group or a sham rTMS control group (29 patients each). Chronic constipation severity was assessed using the Chronic Constipation Severity Score (CSS) before and 14 days after treatment.
The relationship between volcanic activity and organic matter enrichment in sedimentary basins represents a critical yet incompletely understood control of source rock formation. Previous studies have documented correlations between these phenomena, but quantitative assessments of the volcanic input intensity and mechanistic models remain limited. This study employs a novel multiproxy approach to quantify volcanic ash intensity and evaluate its influence on organic matter enrichment in the Late Permian Wuchiaping Formation of the eastern Sichuan Basin, South China.

Unlabelled: Glioblastoma (GBM) remains a lethal brain tumor with limited therapeutic progress, necessitating novel insights into its molecular drivers. This study investigates the causal role of protein palmitoylation-a post-translational modification regulating tumor metabolism and microenvironment-in GBM pathogenesis through neuroimaging-mediated pathways. Leveraging two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) and multi-omics data from FinnGen (406 GBM cases/378,749 controls) and UK Biobank (3,935 brain imaging phenotypes), we identified protective effects of palmitoylation-related genes (ZDHHC3: OR = 0.

Objective: To investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying EA(elaidic acid)-induced lipid accumulation in VSMCs(vascular smooth muscle cells).
Methods: CCK-8 assay determined the effects of EA(0-2.8 mmol/L) on MOVAS(murine aortic vascular smooth muscle cells)to select experimental concentrations.
Objective: To investigate the association between serum inflammatory biomarkers and hypertension prevalence in Chinese adults.
Methods: Based on the 2018 China Health and Nutrition Survey(CHNS), we conducted a cross-sectional analysis of 1960 adults from six provinces selected through stratified random sampling by age and sex. Participants with complete dietary, biochemical, and anthropometric data were included.
Myocardial infarction (MI), the most prevalent form of acute coronary syndrome, is often accompanied by cardiomyocyte apoptosis. In addition to apoptosis, autophagy plays a critical role in determining cardiomyocyte survival during MI. This study aimed to elucidate the regulatory role of miR-499a-5p in cardiomyocyte apoptosis and autophagy under hypoxic conditions.

Methods: This retrospective cohort study recruited full-term infants admitted to NICUs participating in the China Neonatal Genome Project from March 2017 to December 2021, diagnosed with feeding difficulties persisting >72 h.
Physical exercise is a non-pharmacological therapy widely used in drug rehabilitation centers for treating methamphetamine (METH) addiction. METH causes cognitive impairment and suppresses adult hippocampal neurogenesis (AHN) in experimental animals. Exercise can improve cognitive dysfunction caused by various factors through the enhancement of AHN.

Previous studies have demonstrated that U2AF1 mutation impairs the differentiation of erythrocytes and granulocytes, but the impact on megakaryocytes (MKs) remains unclear. Here, by integrating data from MDS patients and cell lines with U2AF1 mutations, we determined that U2AF1 mutations are associated with dysmegakaryopoiesis, induce the generation of abnormal MKs, especially micro-MKs, and induce significant thrombocytopenia.
