Tissue adhesives have emerged as a promising alternative to conventional sutures and staplers in the management of hemostasis, tissue defect sealing, and wound repair. However, the efficacy of current bio-adhesives in clinical practice is compromised by the limitations, including poor wet adhesion, inadequate mechanical strength, vulnerability to gastrointestinal fluids, and insufficient hemostatic performance. Herein, a marine organism-inspired tough and adhesive patch (MOTAP) was developed to address these challenges.

Background: Takayasu arteritis, a chronic inflammatory disease predominantly affecting the aorta and major arterial branches, can lead to serious complications such as myocardial infarction and heart failure.
Case Presentation: This case report details a rare initial presentation of a 24-year-old female with acute left heart failure, leading to a diagnosis of Takayasu arteritis. Initial misdiagnosis as viral myocarditis was reconsidered after comprehensive examinations, including echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, and imaging studies, which revealed the disease’s characteristic vascular involvement.
Chinese chive ( Rottler ex Sprengel), an autotetraploid vegetable cultivated in Asia for over 3,000 years, possesses apomictic characteristics. However, issues like intricate genetic admixture and unclear phylogenetic relationships pose challenges for effective germplasm preservation and breeding advancements. In this research, we systematically assessed population structure, constructed a core collection, and developed a DNA fingerprinting system utilizing Hyper-seq sequencing data.

As a classic example, rhombohedral-stacked (3R) two-dimensional materials exhibit ferroelectricity and optical nonlinearity that are non-existent in naturally abundant hexagonal-stacked (2H) counterparts. However, the ability to grow stacking-controlled large-area films remains challenging due to the thermodynamic competition of different polytypes.

However, the role of G-CSF in Takayasu arteritis (TAK), a form of LVV, remains unclear. This study aims to investigate the potential role of G-CSF in TAK.

Human coronaviruses (CoV) cause respiratory infections that range from mild to severe. CoVs are a large family of viruses with considerable genetic heterogeneity and a multitude of viral types, making preventing and treating these viruses difficult. Comprehensive treatments that inhibit CoV infections fulfill a pressing medical need and may be immensely valuable in managing emerging and endemic CoV infections.

Objectives: This study aims to analyse the expression profiles, phenotypes, functions and cell-cell communication of various cell subpopulations in the affected aortic tissues of patients with Behçet's syndrome (BS) at the transcriptomic level.
Methods: This study recruited six participants (three with BS and three with atherosclerosis) from Beijing Anzhen Hospital between January 2023 and June 2024, collected their clinical information, and performed single-cell RNA sequencing on aortic tissue specimens using the SeekOne® MM High Flux Single Cell Transcriptome Kit V4.1.
Introduction: Since their domestication, domestic sheep (Ovis aries) have been culturally and economically significant farming animals worldwide. Fat-tailed sheep serve as a unique genetic resource for understanding adipogenesis and adaptive evolution in livestock.
Objectives: Several genomic analyses have been conducted on various sheep breeds to elucidate the genome and regulation mechanism of the fat tail trait, prior genomic studies have failed to reconcile conflicting evidence about the genetic basis of tail morphology, particularly regarding the roles of PDGFD and BMP2.
Two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures have emerged as a groundbreaking candidate for future integrated circuits due to their tunable band structures, atomically sharp interfaces and seamless compatibility with complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor technologies. Despite their promise, existing synthesis methods, such as mechanical transfer and vapor-phase conversion, struggle to achieve the high-quality, scalable production for practical applications. In response to these longstanding challenges, our study unveils for the first time the direct epitaxial growth of wafer-scale 2D vdW heterostructures (MoS[Formula: see text]/SnS[Formula: see text]) with exceptional quality and uniformity.

Reassembling 2D TMDC layers to build bulk excitonic crystals can significantly boost their optical performance and introduce emerging functionalities toward optoelectronic and valleytronic applications. However, maintaining or manipulating 2D excitonic properties in bulk structures or superlattices is challenging.

However, the as-synthesized products always exhibit diverse morphologies and phases due to the varying thermodynamic and kinetic factors. A comprehensive investigation into these factors is thus imperative.

Objectives: Takayasu arteritis (TAK) is an inflammatory vasculitis that affects the aorta and its primary branches. The pathogenesis of TAK remains elusive, yet identifying key cell types in the aorta of TAK patients is crucial for uncovering cellular heterogeneity and discovering potential therapeutic targets.
Methods: This study utilized single-cell transcriptome analysis on aortic specimens from three TAK patients, with control data sourced from a publicly available database (GSE155468).
Crown rot caused by Fusarium proliferatum is a severe postharvest disease of banana fruit. The N-methyladenosine (mA) modification is the most common type of RNA modification and regulates gene expression in eukaryotes. Here, we analyzed transcriptome-wide changes in mA methylation to investigate post-transcriptional regulation mechanisms of growth and fumonisin biosynthesis of F.

In this study, the effects of water-cooled substrate on the microstructure and hardness of laser additive manufactured nickel-based coatings were investigated by experimental and numerical simulations. The results showed that the water-cooled substrate decreased the size of columnar crystals and increased the number as well as the length of secondary dendrite crystals at the bottom of the nickel-based coatings.

Van der Waals integration of freestanding perovskite-oxide membranes with two-dimensional semiconductors has emerged as a promising strategy for developing high-performance electronics, such as field-effect transistors. In these innovative field-effect transistors, the oxide membranes have primarily functioned as dielectric layers, yet their great potential for structural tunability remains largely untapped. Free of epitaxial constraints by the substrate, these freestanding membranes exhibit remarkable structural tunability, providing a unique material system to achieve huge strain gradients and pronounced flexoelectric effects.
