Introduction: Third-generation EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) have improved outcomes in EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but resistance occurs, especially in patients with Brain metastases (BMs). Antiangiogenic therapy may enhance CNS drug delivery and EGFR-TKI efficacy. We evaluated the efficacy of high-dose furmonertinib plus bevacizumab in patients with BMs after third-generation EGFR-TKI failure.

However, there is a notable lack of prospective or retrospective clinical studies focusing on this specific population. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of different first-line treatment strategies using EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in NSCLC patients harboring the 21L858R mutation and BMs while providing insights into concurrent mutations and resistance mechanisms.

Background: The association of prediabetes and diabetes on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) remains inconclusive in current epidemiological research. In this investigation, we administered 5-level EuroQoL-5 dimension version (EQ-5D-5L) to systematically assess HRQoL across glycemic strata (diabetes, prediabetes, and normal glycemic levels) in Guangzhou, and to offer baseline data that can be easily compared to other regions in China or across countries.
Method: This investigation utilized baseline cross-sectional data extracted from a three-year prospective cohort study conducted at the Health Management Center of Guangzhou 11th People's Hospital.
This study investigated the chemical compositions isolated from (CES) and elucidated its anti-RA effects and potential mechanisms. results revealed that CES suppressed interleukin (IL)-1β-stimulated proliferation, migration, and invasion of MH7A cells in a concentration-dependent manner. results indicated that CES could reduce the arthritis score, paw swelling, and improve histopathological deterioration.

Sulfuretin is widely distributed in different families of nature, such as Anacardiaceae, Compositae and Leguminosae. Since it was isolated, modern pharmacological researches revealed that this compound exhibited various bioactivities, namely neuroprotection, antioxidant, anti-cancer, hepatoprotection, anti-microbial, anti-inflammation, anti-diabetes, etc., which were attributed to many important molecular targets, such as NF-κB, PI3K/AKT/mTOR, Nrf2/HO1, MAPKs and JNK/ERK.

Importantly, MAG reduced the levels of pyroptosis-related proteins, including NLRP3, ASC, cleaved-caspase 1, GSDMD-N, IL-18, and IL-1β.

In the currentera of immunotherapy, the role of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in the second-line treatment of patients with extensive-stage SCLC (ES-SCLC) who have progressed to initial chemoimmunotherapy remains unclear.
Methods: A multicenter retrospective study were conducted, involving patients with ES-SCLC who received second-line (2L) therapy after progression to first-line chemoimmunotherapy.

Background: Lung cancer brain metastases (LC-BrMs) are frequently associated with dismal mortality rates in patients with lung cancer; however, standard of care therapies for LC-BrMs are still limited in their efficacy. A deep understanding of molecular mechanisms and tumor microenvironment of LC-BrMs will provide us with new insights into developing novel therapeutics for treating patients with LC-BrMs.
Methods: Here, we performed integrated analyses of genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, metabolomic, and single-cell RNA sequencing data which were derived from a total number of 154 patients with paired and unpaired primary lung cancer and LC-BrM, spanning four published and two newly generated patient cohorts on both bulk and single cell levels.
Background: Brain metastases (BM) are highly prevalent and associated with a poor prognosis in patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC). However, the evidence regarding the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in combination with chemotherapy for patients with SCLC and BM remains limited. Therefore, the objective of this study is to evaluate whether the addition of ICIs confers survival benefits for patients with SCLC and BM.

As an emerging two-dimensional (2D) material, MXene has garnered significant interest in advanced energy storage systems, yet the stackable structure, poor mechanical stability, and lack of moldability limit its large-scale applications. To address this challenge, herein, the self-assembly of MXene on carbonization-free wood was obtained to serve as high-performance electrodes for symmetrical all-wood eco-supercapacitors by a steam-driven self-assembly method. This method can be implemented in a low-temperature environment, significantly simplifying traditional high-temperature annealing processes and generating minimal impact on the environment, human health, and resource consumption.

A comparative transcriptomic analysis using Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) was conducted in bovine testes (TESTs), ovaries (OVAs), muscles (MUSCs), and livers (LIVs). An average of 5,144,769 full-length reads were obtained from each sample.

We proposed a far-infrared tunable metamaterial absorber using vanadium dioxide (VO) and graphene as controlling materials. The properties of the absorber are investigated theoretically using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) technique. It was found that when the Fermi energy level of graphene is fixed at zero, VO is in the insulated state, and the metasurface exhibits far-infrared broadband absorption performance, with absorptance exceeding 90% in the wavelength range of 12.

Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), advanced lung cancer inflammation index (ALI) and prognostic nutritional index (PNI) are associated with prognosis in several tumors, whereas their predictive role in SCLC remains unclear.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, involving extensive-stage SCLC (ES-SCLC) patients who received first-line chemoimmunotherapy between January 2020 and December 2021.
