The heavy metal pollution in the sediments of tributaries directly affects the water quality of the Yangtze River. To investigate the distribution characteristics and pollution sources of heavy metals in the sediments of the incoming rivers in typical cities of the lower Yangtze River, the Nanjing section of the Yangtze River was selected as the study area. Sediment samples were collected from 16 monitoring points, and the monitoring data for As, Hg, Cr, Pb, Cd, Cu, and Zn were statistically analyzed.

Soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH), encoded by the EPHX2 gene, is a critical enzyme involved in the metabolism of polyunsaturated fatty acids, specifically anti-inflammatory epoxy fatty acids (EpFAs). By converting EpFAs into less active forms, sEH promotes inflammation. Preclinical data using knock-out and overexpression of the Ephx2 gene have demonstrated its key role in the development and progression of symptoms in various disease models.

Analyzing the distribution characteristics of precipitation pollution intensity in the basin and identifying the main factors affecting the precipitation pollution intensity are the important basis for realizing the accurate management of diffused pollution. Based on the surface water quality data from four typical sections of the main stream of Qinhuai River Basin and rainfall data collected from 2021 to 2022, the distribution characteristics of precipitation pollution intensity in the basin were analyzed, and representative natural and social factors were selected to construct models of the precipitation pollution intensity of ammonia nitrogen (NH-N), permanganate index, and total phosphorus (TP) based on random forest algorithm. Additionally, the main driving factors of precipitation pollution intensity were identified, and the influencing mechanism was analyzed.

The increase of the number of the two-body recombination channels strongly challenges the numerical calculation of the accurate rates for the three-body recombination (TBR) process and its reverse process, collision-induced dissociation (CID), at ultracold temperatures.
