The milling process is a critical technological step that regulates wheat flour characteristics and ultimately determines end-product quality. This study systematically evaluated the effects of three key milling parameter adjustments in a laboratory-scale roller mill-double sifting (2S), double break milling (2BM), and increased roll gap (IRG)-on the physicochemical properties of wheat flour and the quality of microwave freeze-dried non-fried instant noodles. The results demonstrated that milling processes significantly influenced the particle size and composition of flour.

Cerebral nocardiosis caused by represents a rare and diagnostically challenging infectious disease, predominantly affecting immunocompromised patients. This opportunistic infection may also pose life-threatening risks to immunocompetent individuals. The diagnostic process is frequently complicated by the absence of distinctive clinical manifestations and technical limitations inherent to conventional microbiological detection methods, which collectively impede the acquisition of definitive pathogenic evidence, thereby resulting in diagnostic delays.

Introduction: Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is the most common bleeding disorder in children. Tfh cells play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of ITP by promoting the production of anti-platelet autoantibodies. Recent studies have shown that CXCR5 T cells not only possess "Tfh-like" cell functions but also can induce Tfh cell differentiation.

Accurate segmentation of neurons in 3D fluorescence microscopy images is essential for advancing neuroscience. Prevalent methods split a volume into patches and process each patch separately due to computational resource limitations. However, they fail to capture global neuronal morphology across multiple patches, which results in discontinuous segmentation and poses a challenge for subsequent neuronal reconstruction.

Brucellosis is a zoonotic disease caused by Brucella species In pregnant women, this disease may lead to adverse obstetric outcomes, such as abortion, preterm delivery, intrauterine fetal death (IUFD), and congenital brucellosis. However, only a few studies have reported IUFD due to Brucella. In our case, one woman residing in Guangxi Province, China-a non-endemic region-developed symptoms 11 months after exposure.

Tomatoes with rich in nutrients are very popular for humans, but they are extremely perishable during storage and transportation, which may limit their economic and nutritional value. In this research, the suitable concentration of essential oil and soaking time were investigated and selected by measuring the changes of tomatoes' weight loss ratio and hardness with single factor experiment. Subsequently, the Box-Behnken experimental design model from Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was employed to optimize key process parameters for tomato preservation, with three independent variables selected: cinnamon essential oil concentration, konjac glucomannan (KGM) concentration, and immersion time.

Background: Neonatal bloodstream infections (BSIs) caused by extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL-E) are associated with high rates of morbidity and mortality. This study aimed to describe the clinical characteristics, profiles of antibiotic susceptibility, and risk factors associated with BSIs caused by (ESBL-EC) and (ESBL-KP), and identify risk factors for poor prognosis in neonatal patients with or BSIs.

Methods: In the period from January 2017 to December 2023, a retrospective case-control study was conducted at Guangxi Children's Hospital in China.

Background And Purpose: Distinguishing between high-grade glioma (HGG) and primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) is of paramount clinical importance, as these entities necessitate substantially different therapeutic approaches. The differential diagnosis becomes particularly challenging when HGG presents without characteristic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features, making it difficult to differentiate from PCNSL. The diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging (NODDI) offer quantitative assessments of water molecule diffusion within tissues, thereby providing potential means to characterize microstructural differences between HGG and PCNSL.

Background: Regional anesthetic techniques for hip fracture are critical for pain control, reducing perioperative adverse events, and minimizing postoperative opioid use. This case series investigates the use of a novel triple-block protocol-ultrasound-guided pericapsular nerve group (PENG) block, lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (LFCN) and sacral plexus blocks-in patients with hip fractures, focusing on its feasibility as an anesthetic strategy for high-risk hip fracture patients.

Case Presentation: Five frail elderly patients with significant comorbidities and contraindications to neuraxial anesthesia underwent bipolar femoral head replacement surgery.

Efficient proton supply and enhanced *CO intermediate adsorption are crucial strategies for boosting CO methanation. Herein, we construct a hydrogen-bonded (H-bonded) photocatalytic membrane by integrating a MAPbBr/cyano-g-CN (MPB/CN-g-CN) heterojunction with ethyl cellulose (ECE) binder through a simple sol-gel process, achieving significantly enhanced CO methanation efficiency. ECE functions as a novel proton source, with hydroxyl (-OH) groups that are readily oxidized by photogenerated holes, resulting in efficient proton supply compared to HO.

Purpose: Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (EGPA) is a rare vasculitis characterized by increased eosinophils in human tissues and peripheral blood. In this case, we present a 53-year-old female patient with EGPA. By this case and literature review, we want to explain the early manifestations, diagnosis, and management of EGPA, which will help clinicians to understand the disease and attach importance to the possibility of dupilumab-induced EGPA, to improve the early diagnosis rate of EGPA, and reduce misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis.

Aqueous Zn ion batteries (ZIBs) have become a strong competitor in the field of large-scale energy storage. However, surface side reactions, such as Zn corrosion, hydrogen evolution reaction, and dendrite growth, lead to low reversibility of Zn anode. This study introduces a time-saving and simple solution-dipping method to address above issues by spreading ultrathin Poly (vinyl formal) (PVF) protective layer on the surface of Zn anode (denoted as PVF@Zn).

Acute kidney injury (AKI) has high morbidity and mortality, but effective clinical drugs and management are lacking. Previous studies have suggested that macrophages play a crucial role in the inflammatory response to AKI and may serve as potential therapeutic targets. Emerging evidence has highlighted the importance of forkhead box protein O1 (FoxO1) in mediating macrophage activation and polarization in various diseases, but the specific mechanisms by which FoxO1 regulates macrophages during AKI remain unclear.

This study developed nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) using edible beeswax and flaxseed oil to encapsulate β-sitosterol. Structural analysis revealed the formation of a less ordered lipid matrix with reduced crystallinity compared to pure beeswax, contributing to a high encapsulation efficiency of 92 %. Optimal formulation (beeswax: flaxseed oil 3:2, Tween 80: Polyglycerol fatty acid(PGE) 4:1 totaling 7 % emulsifier) and processing parameters (10 min homogenization, 200 W ultrasonic power for 4 min) yielded stable nanoparticles maintaining physical stability for 40 days across varying pH and temperature.
