Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), known for their high surface area, adjustable pore structure, and ease of functional modification, have attracted considerable interest for carbon dioxide (CO) capture. Nevertheless, their practical use is hindered by their powdered form, which results in limited mechanical strength and a reduced gas transport performance. In this study, an effective approach is presented for developing three-dimensional UiO-66-NH/polyacrylonitrile (PAN) interconnected networks to serve as efficient gas transport pathways, thereby enhancing CO adsorption capabilities.

Accurate quantification of DNA methylation at single-CpG resolution remains a challenge for conventional qMSP, which typically lacks the specificity to discriminate solitary methylated sites. Here, we present a novel blocker displacement qMSP (BD-qMSP) assay that integrates a rationally designed blocker oligonucleotide to suppress unmethylated sequences while enabling robust amplification of single methylated CpGs. Through systematic optimization of blocker design, primer/probe modification, and annealing conditions, BD-qMSP achieved high discrimination efficiency with a detection limit as low as 0.

BACKGROUND Intertrochanteric fractures can be managed using insertion of a proximal femoral nail anti-rotation (PFNA) intramedullary nail inserted into the femur. The helical blade used with the PFNA technique has the advantage of less bone removal and good biomechanical properties, but significant hidden blood loss (HBL) can occur. This study compared postoperative HBL in 219 elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures using PFNA fixation, stratified by greater trochanter comminution status (comminuted vs non-comminuted).
