Background: SIBP04 is a biosimilar of bevacizumab (Avastin®, Roche, Basel, Switzerland). This study evaluated the equivalence of SIBP04 to Avastin® as first-line treatment for locally advanced or metastatic non-squamous non-small-cell lung cancer (nsqNSCLC).

This study introduces a novel joint technique combining "parallel peptide synthesis" and "de novo sequencing", which facilitates the high-throughput screening and structure validation of biological peptides derived from food and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Sea cucumber (Stichopus japonicus) was used as a model organism, undergoing simulated gastrointestinal digestion followed by de novo sequencing to predict potential peptides. Subsequently, cost-effective filter pipette tips were innovatively employed as parallel reaction vessels, enabling efficient peptide synthesis through the microfluidic flow of amino acid solutions over the loaded resin.

It has long been the chemistry dogma that the nitrogen-based ligand of iron complexes determines the redox reactivity; tetra- and/or pentadentate nitrogen-based ligand (N-ligand: PDP, porphyrin, N4Py) enables chemo-selective oxidation through high-valent iron species (Fe═O), while bi- and/or tridentate N-ligand leads to the generation of highly reactive oxygen species (ROS) (i.e., hydroxyl radical) via a Fenton chemistry pathway.

Gastrointestinal digestion mimic and de novo sequencing were sequentially carried out to predict new peptides from seahorse. After bioinformatic analysis using Peptide Ranker, 82 peptides were eventually synthesized by efficient parallel SPOT technique, and Ser-Val-Try-Leu-Gly-Gly-Ser-Leu-Leu (SVWLGGSLL) was screened out as the most efficient peptide with synergistic antioxidant (DPPH radical scavenging activity of 77%) and α-glucosidase inhibitory activity (IC = 0.

Halogenation with this [Fe]/HO oxidation protocol and halide (X) in the biological system is well established with the identification of heme-iron-dependent haloperoxidases. However, mimicking such halogenation process is rarely explored for practical use in organic synthesis.

Materials And Methods: A total of 273 EC patients underwent VMAT were retrospectively reviewed and enrolled from two centers and divided into training (n = 152), internal validation (n = 66), and external validation (n = 55) cohorts, respectively. Radiomic and dosiomic features along with DL features using convolutional neural networks were extracted and screened from CT and RD images to predict RE.
Background: To integrate radiomics and dosiomics features from multiple regions in the radiation pneumonia (RP grade ≥ 2) prediction for esophageal cancer (EC) patients underwent radiotherapy (RT).
Methods: Total of 143 EC patients in the authors' hospital (training and internal validation: 70%:30%) and 32 EC patients from another hospital (external validation) underwent RT from 2015 to 2022 were retrospectively reviewed and analyzed. Patients were dichotomized as positive (RP+) or negative (RP-) according to CTCAE V5.
Background: Our previous studies showed that curcumin prevented hepatic steatosis in animal models.
Objectives: This study aimed to assess the effects of curcumin on hepatic fat content, body composition, and gut microbiota-dependent bile acid (BA) metabolism in patients with nonalcoholic simple fatty liver (NASFL).
Methods: In a 24-wk double-blind randomized trial, 80 patients with NASFL received 500 mg/d curcumin or placebo.
N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is a common posttranscriptional RNA modification and plays an important role in cancer biology. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are also reported to participate in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) progression. Here, we aimed to investigate the functions of Wilms tumor 1-associating protein (WTAP) methyltransferase and circEEF2 in LUAD cell tumorigenesis, and probe whether circEEF2 functioned through WTAP-induced m6A modification and its potential mechanisms.

New anti-lung cancer therapies are urgently required to improve clinical outcomes. Since ganodermanontriol (GDNT) has been identified as a potential antineoplastic agent, its role in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is investigated in this study. Concretely, lung cancer cells were treated with GDNT and/or mycophenolate mofetil (MMF), after which MTT assay, flow cytometry and Western blot were conducted.

Methods: After the construction of A549/DDP cells through exposure to DDP, the effects of GA-A on A549 and A549/DDP cells were revealed by cellular functional assays, western blot and quantitative reverse transcription PCR (qRT-PCR).
Background: () rs1799782 polymorphism is associated with an increased risk of lung cancer (LC). The aim of this study is to analyze the underlying biological mechanisms.
Methods: Dual luciferase reporter assay was utilized to verify the impact of polymorphism upon promoter activity of .
Background: Lung cancer (LC) is primarily responsible for cancer-related deaths worldwide. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a process in which epithelial cells acquire mesenchymal features and is associated with the development of tumors. CBX8, a member of the PcG protein family, plays a critical role in various cancers, containing LC.

However, there are not many studies that measure the quality development of tourism destinations from the perspective of inputs and output. Based on this, the data envelopment analysis model is used to measure the overall technical efficiency (TECRS), pure technical efficiency (TEVRS), and scale efficiency (SE) with the help of DEA-SOLVER software, taking the ten prefecture-level cities in Shaanxi Province as examples, to further analyze and evaluate the spatial differences of different tourism destinations and the reasons for the differences.

Curcumin is a polyphenol extracted from the rhizome of turmeric, and our previous research showed that curcumin inhibited cholesterol absorption and had cholesterol-lowering effect. Bisphenol A (BPA), a common plasticizer, is widely used in the manufacture of food packaging and is associated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). We hypothesized that curcumin could protect against BPA-induced hepatic steatosis by inhibiting cholesterol absorption and synthesis.

Our previous studies found that bisphenol A (BPA) exposure induced hepatic steatosis and gut microbiota dysbiosis. Introduction: Cytopathology is an important part of pathology that is used to diagnose disease on the cellular level. The application of the cell block (CB) technique plays a vital role in cytological diagnosis, as blocks and slides can be further used for special stains, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and molecular pathological analysis. Several methods for making CBs have been reported, but their procedures and cellular yield are still deemed unsatisfactory.
