Article Abstract

Exploring the of regional tourism efficiency is of great significance in promoting high-quality development of regional tourism. However, there are not many studies that measure the quality development of tourism destinations from the perspective of inputs and output. Based on this, the data envelopment analysis model is used to measure the overall technical efficiency (TECRS), pure technical efficiency (TEVRS), and scale efficiency (SE) with the help of DEA-SOLVER software, taking the ten prefecture-level cities in Shaanxi Province as examples, to further analyze and evaluate the spatial differences of different tourism destinations and the reasons for the differences. The results of the study found that: the efficiency indicators explain the differences in the development quality of tourism destinations from different sides; the development quality of tourism destinations in Shaanxi as a whole is low, with excessive inputs and insufficient outputs; and the tourism destinations with relatively high development quality are distributed in the Guanzhong. On this basis, corresponding countermeasure suggestions are put forward to promote the improvement of governance efficiency of tourism destinations in Shaanxi Province, and then optimize the quality of development.

Emotional interaction between tourists and hosts is a vital element of rural tourism, and tourists often seek nostalgia and authenticity in rural settings. Based on the cognition-affect-behavior (CAB) framework and the halo effect theory, this study constructs a hypothetical model to explore the antecedents and consequences of emotional solidarity between rural tourists and residents. Online responses were collected from 324 Chinese rural tourists.

August 2025

Department of Sports Tourism, Faculty of Physical Culture Sciences, Poznan University of Physical Education, 61-871 Poznan, Poland.

Although nutrition is widely recognized as a key factor in post-event recovery in sports, little attention has been given to how its cultural and social dimensions-embodied in local cuisine-intersect with the needs of traveling athletes, for whom food often also serves as a medium of cultural immersion and sensory exploration. Poland, with its rich regional culinary traditions and numerous international running events, offers a compelling context in which to explore these interactions. This study aims to understand the role of local cuisine in the experiences of foreign runners participating in the Poznan Half Marathon 2025, with particular attention on cultural engagement, tourist motivations, and post-exercise recovery processes.

Given that participating in or spectating sports events plays a vital role in enhancing individuals' mental health, understanding the key factors that promote continued participation and attendance in sports events is of significant theoretical and practical importance within the context of sports tourism. From this perspective, the service quality of sports events and the image of the host destination have been identified as major determinants of sustained engagement among sports tourists. However, a review of the literature reveals that findings on the influence of sports event service quality and host destination image on the behavioral intentions of sports tourists have been inconsistent.

This study develops a dynamic game model to analyze subsidy mechanisms for sports tourism integrated destination (STID), examining interactions between a core operator (major projects) and multiple supporting operators (ancillary services). It compares three scenarios: no subsidy, investment-based subsidies (core operator only), and visitor-driven subsidies (tied to tourist numbers). Results show investment-based subsidies increase core operator spending but not supporting operators' investments, while boosting tourist numbers and supporting operators' profits.
