Ionic Polarization-Driven Defect Engineering in NaFe(PO)(PO) Cathode: Fast Charging and Ultra-Long Cycle Life of Sodium-Ion Batteries.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

August 2025

State Key Laboratory of Integrated Optoelectronics, MOE Key Laboratory for UV Light-Emitting Materials and Technology, Northeast Normal University, Changchun, Jilin, 130024, P.R. China.

The NaFe(PO)(PO) (NFPP) cathode material faces the challenge of coordinating the improvement of high-rate performance and long-cycle stability for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs). This study proposes an ionic polarization-driven defect engineering strategy, which regulates the electronic structure and Na transmission dynamics of NFPP through Bi doping. Experimental results and theoretical calculations show that Bi with (18 + 2) electron configuration significantly enhances the crystal structure stability of NFPP by strengthening the covalency of Bi─O bonds.

Nano co-inducer of immunogenic cell death and ferroptosis for anti-tumor immunotherapy.

J Colloid Interface Sci

November 2025

School of Pharmacy, Shandong Second Medical University, Weifang 261053, People's Republic of China. Electronic address:

Due to population aging and lifestyle changes, the global tumor burden has increased, making tumor disease a significant challenge in public health. Recently, immunotherapy emerged as an effective approach for tumor treatment by activating and enhancing the body's immune system to precisely identify and attack tumor cells. However, its efficacy was limited by the "cold" immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (ITME) and the tissue repair capabilities of tumors.

is the causal pathogen of the devastating tomato gray leaf spot with a wide range of alternative plant hosts. To mitigate its potential endemic in facility-cultivated tomatoes, novel disease control strategies should be attempted to minimize the use of chemical fungicides. In this study, we identified a metalloprotease from genome and designated it as SlMEP1, as it appears to be a typical zinc metalloproteinase containing a WLM (WSS1-like metalloprotease) domain and a characteristic HEXXH motif, which we determined by analyzing its transcriptional profile and enzymatic functions.

Despite the significant progress in deep learning-based object detection, existing models struggle to perform optimally in complex agricultural environments. To address these challenges, this study introduces YOLO-Pepper, an enhanced model designed specifically for greenhouse pepper disease and pest detection, overcoming three key obstacles: small target recognition, multi-scale feature extraction under occlusion, and real-time processing demands. Built upon YOLOv10n, YOLO-Pepper incorporates four major innovations: (1) an Adaptive Multi-Scale Feature Extraction (AMSFE) module that improves feature capture through multi-branch convolutions; (2) a Dynamic Feature Pyramid Network (DFPN) enabling context-aware feature fusion; (3) a specialized Small Detection Head (SDH) tailored for minute targets; and (4) an Inner-CIoU loss function that enhances localization accuracy by 18% compared to standard CIoU.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR), as the most common microvascular complication of diabetes, seriously threatens the vision of diabetic patients. As the resident phagocytes of the retina, microglia participate in inflammation, neovascularization, and neurodegeneration of DR. Herein, apoptotic retinal cell membrane-coated, rapamycin-loaded mesoporous Prussian blue NPs as immunomodulators for ameliorating DR by modulating microglial polarization are reported.

Survivors of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) after external cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR) have a mortality rate as high as 50-70%. The use of vasoactive inotropes worsen the mortality rate at admission. The administration of levosimendan within 72 h of ECPR facilitates extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) weaning, so it is important to determine whether levosimendan improves mortality.

Introduction: This study investigates the influence of adult attachment on career decision-making among Chinese university students, focusing on the chain mediation roles of self-differentiation and social support. Grounded in attachment theory and Bowen's family systems theory, the proposed model "adult attachment → self-differentiation → social support → career decision-making" elucidates how emotional dependency indirectly shapes career choices through psychological maturity and social resource integration, offering novel insights for career counseling.

Methods: Data were collected from 908 students across three universities in Shandong Province using standardized scales: the Experiences in Close Relationships Inventory, Revised Differentiation of Self Inventory, Social Support Rating Scale, and Career Decision Inventory.

Reinforcement Effect of CaCl on Cementation Performance of Solid-Waste-Based Cementitious Materials for Fine Tailings.

Molecules

March 2025

Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Water Pollution Control and Resource Reuse, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Shandong University, Qingdao 266237, China.

Cemented paste backfill with mine tailings provides a desirable solution for maximally utilizing mine tailings. Ordinary Portland cement (OPC) is the most widely used binder for cemented tailings backfills; however, the serious environmental problems resulting from OPC production and the drawbacks of OPC in cementing fine tailings motivate the investigation of novel binders characterized by environmental friendliness, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency. We previously synthesized solid-waste-based cementitious materials (SWCMs) for cementing fine tailings.

Medical image segmentation plays a crucial role in assisting clinical diagnosis, yet existing models often struggle with handling diverse and complex medical data, particularly when dealing with multi-scale organ and tissue structures. This paper proposes a novel medical image segmentation model, FE-SwinUper, designed to address these challenges by integrating the strengths of the Swin Transformer and UPerNet architectures. The objective is to enhance multi-scale feature extraction and improve the fusion of hierarchical organ and tissue representations through a feature enhancement Swin Transformer (FE-ST) backbone and an adaptive feature fusion (AFF) module.

Cold stress (CS) is one of the main factors that limits the crop or plant growth and development in many regions of the world. Many researchers have been endeavoring to break the natural temperature barrier to grow plants in extremely cold areas or to alleviate erratic cold devastation on crops in temperate or subtropical regions for years. Numerous studies and research papers published recently for the last two decades have proven that exogenous substances (ESs) are effective and practical in helping plants tolerate CS.
