The applicability of similar materials is a key factor affecting the results of geomechanical model tests. In order to investigate the multi-physical field evolution mechanism of surrounding rocks during water inrush disasters in tunnels crossing fault zones, based on the similarity theory of geomechanical model tests, the physical-mechanical parameters of a prototype rock's mass were first analyzed for similarity, and the target values of similar materials were determined. Secondly, using sand as coarse aggregate, talcum powder as fine aggregate, gypsum and clay as binders, and Vaseline as a regulator, a fault-simulating material suitable for model tests was developed through extensive laboratory experiments.

Buffalo milk is characterized by its high-fat content and complex lipid profile, characterized by elevated levels of health-beneficial fatty acids such as linoleic acid, α-linolenic acid, and arachidonic acid. However, the molecular regulatory mechanisms governing milk fat synthesis in buffaloes remain incompletely elucidated.

A microalgal-bacterial symbiotic system (MBSS) offers advantages for photosynthetic oxygen production, dynamically regulating the structure of extracellular polymeric substances (EPSs) and improving the salinity tolerance of bacteria and algae. This study centered on the mechanisms of membrane fouling mitigation via the microalgal-bacterial interactions in the MBSS, including improving the pollutant removal, optimizing the system parameters, and controlling the gel layer formation.

Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the natural history of deep-seated brain arteriovenous malformation (AVMs), as well as the risk-benefit outcomes of interventional treatment versus conservative management.
Materials & Methods: Patients with deep-seated AVMs were selected from a nationwide prospective multicenter registry study in China (the MATCH study), and univariate and multivariate analyses were conducted to identify factors associated with AVM rupture. In the analysis of outcomes, propensity score matching (PSM) was performed between the interventional and conservative treatment groups, adjusting for baseline differences.

Investigating physical models with photonic synthetic dimensions has been generating great interest in vast fields of science. The rapidly developing thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) platform, for its numerous advantages including high electro-optic coefficient and scalability, is well compatible with the realization of synthetic dimensions in the frequency together with spatial domain. While coupling resonators with fixed beam splitters is a common experimental approach, it often lacks tunability and limits coupling between adjacent lattices to sites occupying the same frequency domain positions.

While the safety profile using combined ablation and resection (CARe) to treat CRLM has been documented, its efficacy has not been compared with that of resection alone in the laparoscopic setting. The aim of this study was to compare the short- and long-term outcomes of laparoscopic CARe with those of laparoscopic resection alone for multiple CRLM.

Background: Lipid metabolism plays a critical role in maintaining energy homeostasis during various physiological processes in insects. Diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase-1 (DGAT1) is associated with the synthesis of triacylglycerol (TAG), a process that is necessary for the absorption of dietary fats and the storage of fat in mammals. However, the biological roles of DGAT1 in insects remain largely unknown.

Objective: Cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVM) pose a significant risk during pregnancy because of hormonal changes and increased hemodynamic stress. This study aims to assess the risk of AVM rupture during pregnancy and puerperium and to identify risk factors associated with rupture.
Methods: This prospective cohort study included 588 women with AVMs and a history of pregnancy, enrolled from a nationwide registry in China between August 2011 and August 2021.
Background: In the absence of a human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-matched donor, intensive immunosuppressive therapy (IST) combined with unrelated cord blood (IIST-UCB) a salvage treatment option for patients with severe aplastic anemia (SAA) who had failed IST. With advancements in transplantation technology, outcomes of IIST-UCB have improved considerably in recent years. Here, we will focus on the differential effects of IIST-UCB on patient survival and GVHD risk and evaluate its therapeutic efficacy between SAA and VSAA patients.

Taking the TPO waterproofing membrane as an example, this paper studies the influence of temperature, speed and welding pressure on the welding quality of a TPO waterproofing membrane lap area through a peel test and a water impermeability test, determines the optimal construction process, and observes and compares the permeable path through laser confocal microscope. Finally, it is applied to the actual effect test in the project. The results show that the welding pressure test tool for the lap area of the waterproofing membrane is designed to meet the welding work test requirements of various lap areas of the waterproofing membrane.

Background: We aimed to identify stromal cells associated with liver metastasis of gastric cancer (GC).
Methods: We downloaded single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) datasets for GC tissues and adjacent normal tissues (NT), as well as liver metastases (LM) and healthy liver tissues (HL) from GEO. Additionally, we obtained RNA-Seq and clinical data from TCGA for the TCGA-STAD project.
Cardiovascular diseases are leading causes of death globally, often manifesting after years of atherosclerosis (AS) progression. In this study, we investigated the atheroprotective effects of three different sources of glucomannan, polysaccharide, glucomannan, and polysaccharide (AVP), using an ox-LDL-induced foam cell model and an high-fat high-cholesterol diet-fed ApoE mouse model. Both settings indicate that AVP exerts the most significant atheroprotective effects.

Despite growing evidence of the endocrine-disrupting effects of dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (DL-PCBs), the specific impact of maternal exposure to these pollutants on fetal thyroid hormone levels remains largely unexplored. This study uniquely investigates the association between prenatal DL-PCB exposure and thyroid hormone levels in umbilical cord blood within a cohort of pregnant women in Shenyang, China, during 2022-2023. A total of 2240 pregnant women were enrolled in the study.

These interventions invariably fail due to residual invasive cells, molecular heterogeneity, and an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) reinforced by myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) and regulatory T cells (Tregs). The blood-brain barrier (BBB) further limits therapeutic access, while antigen escape and T-cell exclusion mechanisms drive relapse.
