(Eukaryotic Transcription Factor 2/Dimerization Partner) refers to a class of protein complexes that play a pivotal role in the regulation of gene transcription in eukaryotes. In higher plants, transcription factors are of vital significance in mediating responses to environmental stresses. Based on differences in their conserved structural domains, they can be categorized into three subgroups: E2F, DP, and DEL (DP-E2F-like).

School of Physics and Technology, Key Laboratory of Nuclear Solid State Physics Hubei Province, Wuhan University, Wuhan 430072, China. Electronic address:

The hollow MoSe/N-doped carbon (NC) composite, which was obtained through Mo-polydopamine as a self-sacrificing template based on the Kirkendall effect, was further utilized to fabricate a novel ternary MoSe/NC/ZIS (MNZ) dual Z-scheme heterojunction by growing ZnInS (ZIS) onto it via a hydrothermal process. The optimized MNZ (12MNZ) heterojunction exhibits exceptional performance in photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride (TCH), hydrogen (H) evolution, hydrogen peroxide (HO) production, and carbon dioxide (CO) reduction under visible light irradiation. The 12MNZ photocatalyst achieves a significant photodegradation efficiency of TCH reaching 98.

College of New Energy Materials and Chemistry, Leshan Normal University, Leshan, Sichuan 614000, PR China. Electronic address:

Accurate detection of glyphosate (GLY) residues is essential for protecting public health, ensuring food safety, and preventing environmental pollution caused by excessive or improper herbicide application. Based on the asymmetric CRISPR/Cas12a system as a signal amplification technique, with phosphorothioate-modified hairpin G-quadruplex (psHG4) acting as a signal probe, a platform named ACC-GLY is developed for the sensitive and accurate detection of GLY. In the designed ACC-GLY platform, the target GLY specifically binds to the aptamer, and the cascading signal amplification strategy, driven by the DNase activity of a single Cas12a, is initiated by two competitive guide RNAs.

Accurate quantification of bamboo leaf morphology is essential for understanding plant morphogenesis and development. However, most bamboo leaves exhibit long lanceolate shape characteristic, posing challenges in finding suitable mathematical models for accurate shape description. Previous studies indicated that the simplified versions of Gielis equation, a nonlinear polar coordinate system derived from the superellipse equation, have shown promise in describing bamboo leaf geometries.

August 2025

Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Functional Supramolecular Coordination Materials and Applications, College of Chemistry and Materials Science, Jinan University, Guangzhou 510632, China.

Highly efficient and stable non-Pt-based electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reactions (ORRs) are highly desirable in energy conversion and storage systems. Herein, we report a hydrothermally synthesized metal chalcogenide cluster-based framework (NCF-3-Mn), which is decorated with transition metal complexes ([Mn(TEPA)], TEPA = tetraethylenepentamine), for an electrocatalytic O reduction reaction (ORR). Benefitting from the abundant Mn-S bonds and Mn-N-C structures in NCF-3-Mn, it was found that NCF-3-Mn displayed a high onset potential (0.

Intestinal homeostasis depends critically on the dynamic interplay between gut microbiota, epithelial barriers, and host immunity, dysregulation of this triad can initiate inflammatory cascades. Ferulic acid and its derivative N-Feruloylserotonin demonstrate significant anti-inflammatory activity, though their intestinal protective effects and mechanisms require further elucidation. Therefore, this study examined how these compounds mitigate lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute inflammation through integrated modulation of the gut microbiome, serum metabolome, and transcriptional networks.

Skeletal editing of pyridines to aryldialdehydes.

Nat Commun

August 2025

Key Laboratory of Green Chemistry & Technology, Ministry of Education, College of Chemistry, Sichuan University, Chengdu, Sichuan, PR China.

Electron-deficient nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocycles, particularly pyridine derivatives, can be converted into all-carbon aromatic frameworks via the ANRORC (Addition of Nucleophile, Ring-Opening, and Ring-Closing) skeletal editing process, providing a convenient tool for molecular diversification. However, reported methods are mainly limited to nucleophilic modification of ring-opening species. Herein, we report a distinct electrophilic modification method, smoothly converting pyridines into arene-1,3-dialdehydes or naphthalene-1,3-dialdehydes.

Skeletal editing of 4-arylpyrimidines into diverse nitrogen heteroaromatics via four-atom synthons.

Nat Commun

August 2025

Key Laboratory of Green Chemistry & Technology, Ministry of Education, College of Chemistry, Sichuan University, Chengdu, Sichuan, PR China.

Scaffold hopping is a key strategy in drug discovery. While one-to-one scaffold hopping strategies are thriving and evolving, one-to-multiple strategies remain challenging to design. We present here a distinct scaffold hopping strategy for the skeletal editing of pyrimidines into a wide range of heteroarenes through the addition of nucleophiles, ring-opening, fragmentation, and ring-closing (ANROFRC) processes.

In anaerobic ammonium oxidation coupled with ferric iron reduction (Feammox) culture systems, the Feammox process coexists with nitrate-dependent ferrous iron oxidation (NDFO). To enrich Feammox microflora, Fe-rich excess activated sludge (EAS) was used as the inoculum and iron source, and NDFO was used to convert Fe in EAS to Fe, providing an iron source for Feammox microorganisms. Feammox microflora were obtained after 74-d cultivation, when the NH-N removal capacity was 2.

Motivation is a key psychological factor influencing athletic performance, especially in high-intensity disciplines such as track and field. However, traditional assessment methods-ranging from self-report questionnaires to static physiological models-often fail to capture the temporal, individualized, and context-dependent nature of the motivation-performance relationship. In this study, we propose a hybrid EEG-based framework for modeling motivational states and forecasting athletic performance.

Ammonia serves as a hydrogen energy carrier and a renewable, zero-carbon fuel alternative that is safely transportable. The electrochemical catalytic reduction of N to NH in aqueous electrolytes at ambient temperature and pressure (eNRR) using electricity generated from renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power can provide an environmentally friendly approach. To effectively suppress the occurrence of hydrogen evolution side reactions, it is necessary to design and synthesize catalysts with high selectivity for N adsorption.

Background: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is frequently associated with gastrointestinal (GI) disturbances, implicating the gut microbiota and its metabolites, short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), in disease pathology via the gut-brain axis. However, the microbial-SCFA nexus in ASD remains controversial, necessitating integrated analyses to clarify these relationships. This study aimed to investigate intestinal microbiota composition and its potential influence on SCFA production in children with ASD compared to typically developing Control, exploring links to GI symptoms and neurodevelopmental outcomes.
