Biofilm is a common status of bacteria persistent inside the host. Its dispersion can cause reactivation of bacteria, leading to disease outbreak. This study investigated ammonia's effects on Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, an important porcine respiratory pathogen.

However, most of these transformations are mainly restricted to the noble-metal catalysts (Au and Pt). Here, a copper-catalyzed desymmetric cyclization reaction of divinylallenes is described, enabling the practical and atom-economical synthesis of a diverse array of valuable triazolo-fused pyridazines and tetracyclic N-heterocycles by a presumable copper carbene intermediate and a highly selective 1,2-N shift process.

To solve the problems of single absorption function and the complex structure of terahertz absorbers, this study proposes a terahertz (THz) absorber based on vanadium dioxide (VO) driven by electric dipole resonance, which can achieve wideband and narrowband absorption conversion. Simulation results indicate that in the narrowband absorption mode, two narrowband absorption peaks were observed at 14.6 THz and 16.

Our study addresses the critical challenges of sluggish sulfur reaction kinetics and severe lithium polysulfide shuttling in high-energy-density lithium-sulfur batteries under high sulfur loading and lean electrolyte conditions. Inspired by the structure of cytochrome c oxidase, we designed an enzyme-mimetic Fe-TCPP@Cu-BTC catalyst with spatial confinement effects. Its spatially confined configuration induces the homolytic cleavage of LiS to LiS and accelerates their subsequent conversion to LiS.

Objective: To study the impacts of varicocele (VC) and varicocelectomy (VCT) on the proteomics of rat testis tissue, and to analyze the differential proteins and signaling pathways, and observe the microstructural changes of the testis tissue.
Methods: We selected 60 male SD rats and divided them into a sham operation (SO), a VC model control, and a VCT group. We harvested the testis tissues from the rats at 4 weeks after modeling for determination of the differential protein expressions by mass spectrometry, analysis of the changes in the protein signaling pathways by KEGG pathway repolarization, and observation of the microstructural changes in the spermatogenic cells under the transmission electron microscope (TEM).
Heat nociception involves thermosensors like transient receptor potential channel V1 in dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons, but their loss only partially impairs heat sensing, suggesting other mechanisms. Autism frequently involves abnormal pain perception, but its mechanisms remain unclear. Here we show that dedicator of cytokinesis 4 (Dock4), an autism susceptibility gene, is decreased in DRG neurons across multiple pain models via histone H4K8 lactylation.

Methods: We integrated transcriptomic data from IDD and DM cohorts, performed differential expression and protein-protein interaction (PPI) network analyses, and applied machine learning to identify shared diagnostic genes. Pathway enrichment, immune infiltration analyses, and experimental qPCR validation were conducted to explore mechanisms and confirm findings.

The global plastic crisis demands innovative solutions for recycling polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a chemically stable polymer constituting 23 % of annual plastic waste. This study presents a significant advance in PET upcycling using engineered Halomonas sp. Y3, a halophilic bacterium uniquely suited for industrial bioprocessing.

As the most abundant components in the tumor microenvironment (TME), cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) can induce epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) to promote tumor. This study aimed to explore the potential molecular mechanisms of CAFs-mediated EMT in NSCLC.

Methods: We conducted a single-center retrospective analysis of 15 patients who underwent endovascular thrombectomy using the Indigo Catheter between May 2023 and October 2024. The procedure was performed within 4 h of presentation.
Endoscopic interventions for postoperative esophageal strictures and fistulas are inherently challenging. The use of conventional self-expandable metallic stents has been restricted due to high migration rates. There has been no report about malignant esophageal stricture and postoperative fistula managed with a lumen-apposing metal stent (LAMS).

Conventional one-step adsorption separation methods lack proper selectivity due to similar molecular sizes and properties. We introduce a tandem reaction-adsorption approach with ultrahigh selectivity and low-pressure uptake.

Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative movement disorder, mainly characterized by the degeneration and loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra. Oxidative stress is considered to be a key contributor to dopaminergic neuronal degeneration, triggering a series of downstream events such as mitochondrial dysfunction, neuroinflammation and misfolded protein aggregation, which ultimately exacerbate the development of PD. Deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs) regulate oxidative stress, but their roles in PD remain unclear.

Frequent changes in stripe rust pathogen virulence in this region lead to a rapid loss of disease resistance among wheat varieties. However, Chinese wheat landrace Yizhanghongkemai (YZHK) has exhibited adult-plant stripe rust resistance for more than one decade in a disease nursery in southwestern China.

However, they face challenges such as limited acquisition angles, floor stability issues, and a restricted field of view (FoV) along the Z-axis.
Purpose: The objective of this study is to propose an algorithm that enables high-quality image reconstruction in lightweight robotic-arm cone-beam CT (CBCT) systems, addressing challenges related to mechanical vibrations, a limited Z-axis scanning range, and inhomogeneous sampling.
Background: Inflammation is a crucial factor in the development of both osteoporosis and sleep disturbances; however, the mechanisms that connect these two conditions are not yet fully understood. This study aims to investigate the relationship among inflammation, osteoporosis, and sleep disturbances, and to assess whether osteoporosis acts as a mediating factor between inflammation and sleep disturbances.
Methods: This study conducted a cross-sectional analysis utilizing data from participants aged 50 and older, sourced from the NHANES database for the years 2005-2010 and 2017-2018.

The oxidation behavior of titanium carbide (TiC) and titanium carbonitride (TiCN) warrants significant attention. This study investigates the oxidation behavior of internally doped TiC and TiCN in ambient air by varying the oxidation temperature and explores their photocatalytic degradation activity. Macroscopic observations, combined with XRD and SEM analyses, reveal a pronounced color change during oxidation, with TiC exhibiting superior oxidation resistance compared to TiCN.

However, when the light signal generated by the OLED emissive layer passes through the polarizer, approximately 50% of the light energy is inevitably lost. Circularly polarized luminescent (CPL) molecules, capable of emitting specific left- or right-handed circularly polarized light, theoretically enable 100% light energy utilization in corresponding OLED devices (CP-OLEDs).
