Coronary artery atherosclerosis (CAA) stands as a prominent etiological contributor to global cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Its pathogenesis entails intricate interplays among genetic predisposition, environmental factors, and lifestyle determinants. Trace elements, though necessitated in minuscule quantities, have emerged as potential modulators of CAA progression, yet their exact impact remains unclear.

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy is a type of cellular immunotherapy showing promising clinical effectiveness and high precision. CAR‑T cells express membrane receptors with high specificity, which enable them to identify certain target antigens generated by cancerous cells. The three primary structural elements of the CAR are the extracellular domain, transmembrane domain and cytoplasmic domain.

This study investigates age-related differences in motor unit (MU) properties and neuromuscular control during isometric elbow flexion across the human lifespan. High-density surface electromyography (sEMG) was recorded from the biceps brachii of 44 participants, divided into three groups: Child (8-14 years), Adult (20-40 years), and Elder (65-80 years). MU spike trains were extracted noninvasively by sEMG decomposition.

Isomaltulose, a sucrose isomer with a low glycemic index and non-cariogenic properties, is extensively used in the food industry. The industrial production of this functional sugar relies on enzymatic biotransformation using sucrose isomerase (SIase). However, conventional bioprocesses involve expressing and isolating the SIase enzyme, followed by using the purified SIase to convert sucrose into isomaltulose, resulting in a multi-step and high-cost process that hindered the broader applications of isomaltulose.

Fringe projection profilometry (FPP) has been widely applied in industrial 3D measurement due to its high precision and non-contact advantages. However, FPP often encounters measurement problems with high-dynamic-range objects, consequently impacting phase computation. In this paper, an adaptive exposure time selection method is proposed to calculate the optimal number of exposures and exposure time by using an improved clustering method to divide the region with different reflection degrees.

Plant oils play an important role in natural product-based dermatological formulations owing to their multifunctional therapeutic properties. Among these, sunflower seed oil (SSO) has gained prominence due to its dual role as a barrier-restoring emollient and skin penetration enhancer. Rich in unsaturated fatty acids, particularly linoleic acid (LA) and oleic acid (OA), SSO supports skin health by restoring lipid bilayer organization, modulating ceramide synthesis, and activating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-alpha (PPAR-α).

Dravet Syndrome (DS), a rare genetic encephalopathy characterized by severe drug-resistant epilepsy and progressive neurodevelopmental regression in infancy, is caused by mutations in the gene on chromosome 2q24 in over 80% of cases. This review synthesizes current insights into its molecular pathogenesis, precision diagnostics, and therapeutic innovations: mutations disrupt Nav1.1 sodium channel expression and membrane trafficking in GABAergic interneurons through transcriptional dysregulation, pre-mRNA splicing defects, and gating dysfunction, thereby impairing inhibitory synaptic transmission and disrupting brainwide excitatory-inhibitory balance.
