Background: Major depressive disorder (MDD), anxiety disorders, and self-harm are substantial contributors to the global disease burden, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods: We used Global Burden of Diseases Study (GBD) 2021 to estimate global, regional, and national prevalence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) for MDD, anxiety disorders, and self-harm from 1990 to 2021. Annual percentage changes were calculated for pre-pandemic (1990-2019) and pandemic (2019-2021) periods.

Background: The patterns of cancer burden in children, adolescents and young adults are distinct from those in the general adult population, underscoring the importance of developing targeted research and interventions. Thus, we analyzed global, regional, and national cancer mortality trends via the World Health Organization (WHO) Mortality Database among children aged 0-14 years and adolescents and young adults aged 15-34 across 77 WHO Member States.

Methods: Age-standardized country-specific cancer mortality rates (deaths per 100,000) and years of life lost between 1990 and 2021 were estimated via a locally weighted scatterplot smooth curve.

The cause of these symptoms is not known, but they may be related to hypothalamic neurodegeneration. We performed a systematic search of MEDLINE and EMBASE for studies using MRI or PET imaging to examine the hypothalamus in AD or LBD.

Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a severe hyperinflammatory syndrome that can lead to early death from multiple organ failure. In secondary HLH, etiological treatment is an emergency, but sometimes impossible until complementary results (microbiology, histology) are available. A "bridge to etiological treatment" with anti-inflammatory drugs (anti-JAK, anti-cytokines or etoposide) is then essential.

Background: Improvements in adipocytes levels can reduce the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease, indicating adipocytes to be a hopeful remedial target in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and other related diseases. However, there is no consensus on the role of various exercise training on adipokines in T2DM and the results are contradictory. Therefore, this systematic review, meta-analysis, and meta-regression investigated the effects of different types of exercise training on some inflammatory adipokines concentrations in T2DM.
