Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between temporal muscle thickness (TMT) as well as temporal (TMA) and masseter muscle (MMA) area with nutritional status and sarcopenia in older individuals.
Methods: This was a retrospective cross-sectional study. A total of 275 participants were evaluated to establish comprehensive geriatric assessment guidelines.
Aim: Meningiomas are the most common type of primary brain tumor found in adults. While magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is commonly used to diagnose meningiomas, determining the tumor grade is challenging. Tumor grading is essential for selecting the most appropriate treatment and determining the extent of surgical resection when surgery is performed.

Background: Metastatic gastric cancer (GC) and gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) cancer are associated with a poor prognosis. Recent advancements in treatment have incorporated trastuzumab, anti-PD-1 agents, and anti-claudin therapies alongside chemotherapy (ChT), significantly improving outcomes. Contemporary studies predominantly employ doublet ChT as the backbone for these regimens, although historically triplet ChT regimens have been favored, particularly in younger patients requiring rapid tumor shrinkage.

Five novel 1,2,3-triazole/arylidenehydrazide/thiazolidinone hybrid compounds (7-11) were synthesized and characterized using NMR, HRMS, IR, and HPLC purity analysis. The cytotoxicity of these compounds was evaluated on fibroblasts and THP-1 cells, showing that all compounds were nontoxic at the tested concentrations. The wound healing assay revealed that compounds 7, 9, and 10 significantly enhanced wound closure, with a 7.

This multicentre retrospective study investigated the epidemiology, clinical characteristics, and fluconazole resistance rates of Candida species in osteoarticular infections across Turkey as well as the factors influencing complete recovery. Data were gathered from 73 adult patients diagnosed with proven or probable Candida-associated osteoarticular infections between 2015 and 2025 from 20 healthcare centres. The most common clinical presentation was spondylodiscitis, followed by the involvement of phalangeal bones in the hands and feet.

Salvia species play a significant role in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries due to their rich chemical profiles and notable biological activities. This study aimed, for the first time, to comprehensively investigate the phytochemical profile and antibacterial properties of eight selected Salvia species. Ethanol and water extracts were prepared from the dried aerial parts, and their chemical compositions were analyzed via LC-HRMS.

Primary malignancies originating in the calcaneus are rare, constituting fewer than 1% of skeletal tumors. Traditional approaches like amputation, though effective, result in significant morbidity. This study presents a case of a 32-year-old male with calcaneal chondrosarcoma, managed with total calcanectomy and subsequent limb salvage through iliac wing autograft reconstruction.

In this study, novel 1,1'-hydrazine-bis(phenoxy-1,2,3-triazol-acetamide) derivatives 10a-n were synthesized, and because of their structural features, they were evaluated against acetylcholinesterase (AChE), butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), and α-glucosidase. AChE and BChE are two important targets in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD), and α-glucosidase is a carbohydrate-hydrolyzing enzyme with therapeutic importance in diabetes. Furthermore, cell studies were performed on the title compounds against SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells as a cancer cell line and HEK293 cells as a normal cell line.

Background: Correct identification of the etiology and anatomical location of perforations is paramount for ensuring optimal therapeutic intervention and surgical planning in cases of gastrointestinal tract perforation.
Purpose: This study aimed to retrospectively evaluate the distinctive multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) findings of intraperitoneal and retro-/extraperitoneal perforation by comparing the locations of free air in the abdomen and other imaging findings.
Material And Methods: A total of 226 patients with acute abdominal pain who visited the emergency department and underwent contrast-enhanced CT between January 2016 and November 2023 were included.

Objective: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cognitive decline and the accumulation of amyloid-beta (Aβ) peptides. The neuroprotective protein sestrin-2 (SESN2) has been implicated in the cellular response to oxidative stress and autophagy, processes that are disrupted in AD. This study explores the effects of phosphodiesterase inhibitors (PDEIs) roflumilast (RF), rolipram (ROL), and tadalafil (TAD) on SESN2 expression and autophagy in Aβ25-35-treated hippocampal neuron (HT-22) cell cultures.

In this study, a novel series of eleven 3,5-disubstituted thiazolidine-2,4-dione (TZD) derivatives were rationally designed and synthesized, incorporating tertiary amine moieties to enhance cholinesterase binding. The acetamide-linked TZD scaffold was selected for its potential dual functionality: cholinesterase inhibition and cytotoxicity against neuronal cells. All compounds were evaluated for their inhibitory activities against acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), alongside cytotoxicity assays on SH-SY5Y cancerous neuroblastoma and HEK-293 healthy cells.

Background: This study aims to investigate the effects of vitamin B12 on morphine-induced conditioned place preference (CPP), a model commonly used to assess the rewarding effects of drugs. Morphine is a potent analgesic widely used for moderate to severe pain, but it also poses a significant risk of addiction. Previous studies suggest that cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) may enhance the analgesic effects of morphine and reduce tolerance, but its impact on morphine addiction remains unclear.

Introduction: Gastric cancer is a common type of cancer and one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths. Unfortunately, the number of cases has been rising in recent years. Since this cancer often does not show symptoms in its early stages, most people are diagnosed when the disease is already advanced (stage 3 or 4).
