Multistate ferroelectric polarization holds promise for realizing high-density nonvolatile memory devices, but so far is restricted to a few traditional ferroelectrics. Here, we show that nanoconfined two-dimensional (2D) ferroelectric ice can achieve phase-dependent multistate polarization through extensive classical and ab initio molecular dynamics simulations. An in-plane electric field is found to induce the reversible transition between a low-polarization AA-stacked hexagonal ice phase and an unprecedented high-polarization AB-stacked ice phase, resulting in a four-state ferroelectric switching pathway.

Polymerizable deep eutectic solvents (PDES) have recently emerged as a class of solvent-free ionically conductive elastomers and are considered among the most feasible candidates for next-generation ionotronic devices. However, the fundamental challenge persists in synergistically combining high mechanical strength, robust adhesion, reliable self-healing capacity, and effective antimicrobial performance within a unified material system capable of fulfilling the rigorous operational demands of next-generation ionotronic devices across multifunctional applications. Inspired by the hierarchical structure of spider silk, HCAG eutectogels composed of acrylic acid (AA), 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA), and choline chloride (ChCl) were successfully synthesized via a one-step photopolymerization method.

Coarse-grained (CG) lipid models enable efficient simulations of large-scale membrane events. However, achieving both speed and atomic-level accuracy remains challenging. Graph neural networks (GNNs) trained on all-atom (AA) simulations can serve as CG force fields, which have demonstrated success in CG simulations of proteins.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that is increasingly linked to immune dysfunction and neuroinflammation. Regulatory T cells (Tregs), which are crucial in maintaining immune homeostasis, have been implicated in the pathogenesis of ASD. However, their role in neuroimmune interactions and behavioral outcomes remains poorly understood.

Background: Emerging evidence suggests vitamin D plays a dual role in immune regulation, yet its interplay with genetic susceptibility in early-life allergy development remains poorly understood. This prospective cohort study investigated whether cord blood 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] levels interact with immunoregulatory gene variants to influence childhood food allergy risk.
Methods: A total of 1,049 mother-infant pairs from the Shanghai Allergy Cohort were stratified by cord blood 25(OH)D concentrations (<15, 15-25, >25 ng/mL).

Background: Coagulation disorders are potentially one of the most important pathogeneses of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) following acute type A aortic dissection (ATAAD). This study aimed to determine whether aortic dissection singularly and cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) surgery can activate coagulation pathways, promoting ARDS development in patients with ATAAD.
Methods: A total of 450 patients who received treatment at Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University, between March 2023 and February 2024 were consecutively enrolled in this prospective cohort study.

Microbial nitrate ammonification is a crucial process to retain nitrogen (N) in soils, thereby reducing N loss. Nitrate ammonification has been studied in enrichment and axenic bacterial cultures but so far has been merely ignored in environmental studies. In particular, the capability of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) to regulate nitrate ammonification has not yet been explored.

The Brucella abortus A19 attenuated live vaccine poses potential infection risks during practical applications and interferes with serological diagnostics, thereby affecting quarantine measures and the establishment of disease-free zones. Consequently, this study aimed to reduce its potential virulence, enhance its protective efficacy and differentiate it from wild-type strains by knocking out the immunosuppressive virulence gene btpB in the A19 strain. Using homologous recombination, we successfully obtained the A19ΔBtpB deletion strain.

Background: Centromeres are crucial for precise chromosome segregation and maintaining genome stability during cell division. However, their evolutionary dynamics, particularly in polyploid organisms with complex genomic architectures, remain largely enigmatic. Allopolyploid wheat, with its well-defined hierarchical ploidy series and recent polyploidization history, serves as an excellent model to explore centromere evolution.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common and lethal malignancies worldwide, with treatment failure often attributed to chemoresistance and evasion of apoptosis. Cathayanon E (CE), a natural chalcone derivative isolated from Morus alba, has shown anticancer potential, but its role and mechanism in CRC remain largely unexplored. In this study, CE significantly inhibited CRC cell proliferation and induced apoptosis both in vitro and in vivo.

EZH2 catalyzes H3K27me3 and is essential for embryonic development. Although multiple EZH2 variants have been identified, the functional implications and physiological significance of its heterogeneity remain unclear. Here, we revealed that conserved cryptic splice sites generated two EZH2 variants with (EZH2A) or without (EZH2B) a 27-nt region, coding for a 9-aa segment.

With the continuous development of flexible sensors and flexible energy storage devices, gel materials with good flexibility, toughness, and tunable properties have attracted wide attention. Deep eutectic solvents (DES) have an obvious advantage of thermal and chemical stability over water. Therefore, eutectogels can effectively solve the problem of insufficient stability of traditional hydrogels.

In China, many solid tumor drugs have been approved via the accelerated approval (AA) pathway. We extracted data regarding indications for solid tumor-treating drugs approved by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) between 2015 and 2023, along with their corresponding Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO) guideline recommendation levels and inclusion data. Descriptive statistics, Fisher's exact tests, and t-tests were used to examine associations between NMPA approval pathways and CSCO guideline recommendation levels.
