Gas-water two-phase flow in horizontal and inclined wells is significantly influenced by gravitational forces and spatial asymmetry around the wellbore, resulting in complex and variable flow patterns. Accurate measurement of water holdup is essential for analyzing phase distribution and understanding multiphase flow behavior. Water holdup imaging provides a valuable means for visualizing the spatial distribution and proportion of gas and water phases within the wellbore.

Background: Sleep disturbances, such as difficulty in falling asleep and multiple awakenings at night, are prevalent among persons with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (hereafter dementia), resulting in advanced cognitive impairment and increased behavioral problems. Additionally, family caregivers (eg, spouses or offspring) suffer from reduced sleep quality as a result of sleep disturbances in the persons with dementia (PWDs) they care for. Relatively little is known about the interaction of sleep parameters in dyads (PWD-caregiver) as paired units among understudied immigrant minorities, particularly Korean Americans.

Craniofacial bone defect healing in periodontitis patients with diabetes background has long been difficult due to increased blood glucose levels which cause overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and a low pH environment. These conditions negatively affect the function of macrophages, worsen inflammation and oxidative stress, and ultimately, hinder osteoblasts' bone repair potential. In this study, we for the first time found that annexin A1 (ANXA1) expression in macrophages was reduced in a diabetic periodontitis (DP) environment, with the activation of the NLRP3/Caspase-1/GSDMD signaling pathway, and, eventually, increased macrophage pyroptosis.
