Objective: This study aimed to extract the radiomic features of intracranial aneurysm (IA) and parent artery (PA) walls from high-resolution vessel wall imaging (HR-VWI) images and construct and validate machine learning (ML) predictive models by comparing them with the radiomics score (Rad-score).

Methods: In this study, 356 IAs from 306 patients were retrospectively analyzed at Yuzhong Center and randomly divided into training and test cohorts in an 8:2 ratio. Additionally, 66 IAs from 58 patients were used at Jiangnan Center to validate the predictive model.

Objective: This study aimed to develop and validate a multivariate logistic regression model for predicting intracranial aneurysm (IA) rupture by integrating clinical data, aneurysm morphology, and parent artery characteristics using high-resolution vessel wall imaging (HR-VWI).

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 298 patients with 386 aneurysms. Patients were randomly divided into training ( = 308) and validation ( = 78) sets.

Background And Aim: There are limited comparative studies of ceftazidime/avibactam (CAZ/AVI) vs. polymyxin B (PMB) for carbapenem-resistant organisms (CRO) infections. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy and safety of CAZ/AVI and PMB in treating CRO infections.

Associating molecular structure and mechanical properties is important for silicone rubber design. Although silicone rubbers are widely used due to their odourless, non-toxic, and high- and low-temperature resistance advantages, their application and development are still limited by their poor mechanical properties. The mechanical properties of silicone rubbers can be regulated by designing the cross-link density and cross-linking structure, and altering the molar contents of vinyl in the side groups of methyl vinyl silicone rubber (MVQ) leads to different cross-linking structures and cross-linking densities in the vulcanized rubber.

Elderly patients are more prone to develop acute kidney injury during infections and polymyxin B (PMB)-associated nephrotoxicity than young patients. The differential response to PMB between the elderly and young critically ill patients is unknown. We aimed to assess PMB exposure in elderly patients compared with young critically ill patients, and to determine the covariates of PMB pharmacokinetics in critically ill patients.

Background: Bibliometric analysis is a quantitative method which applies mathematical and statistical tools to evaluate the inter-relationships and impacts of publications, authors, institutions and countries in a specific research area. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses (SRMAs) are summaries of the best available evidence to address a specific research question comprehensively literature search, in-depth analysis and synthesis of results. To date, there have been several studies summarizing the publication trends of SRMAs in research specialties, however, none has conducted specifically in ophthalmology.

Objective: To analyze the application effect of health failure mode and effect analysis (HFMEA) model in patients with artificial airways in the cardiovascular surgery intensive care unit (CSICU) by establishing a HFMEA project team, and to develop targeted improvement measures and processes.

Methods: The patients undergoing cardiovascular surgeries and with established artificial airways in the Shandong Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong First Medical University were recruited from October 2021 to March 2022. The enrolled patients were divided into the conventional management group and the HFMEA model management group according to random number table method.

Background: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) has been the leading cause of irreversible blindness in industrialized countries. Emerging data suggest that serum vitamin D levels may be associated with AMD but show mixed results. National-level population data on the relationship between vitamin D and AMD severities are still lacking.

To evaluate the effect of empirical antifungal treatment (EAFT) on mortality in critically ill patients without invasive fungal infections (IFIs). This was a single-center propensity score-matched retrospective cohort study involving non-transplanted, non-neutropenic critically ill patients with risk factors for invasive candidiasis (IC) in the absence of IFIs. We compared all-cause hospital mortality and infection-attributable hospital mortality in patients who was given EAFT for suspected IC as the cohort group and those without any systemic antifungal agents as the control group.

The photo-Fenton reaction was widely used in the removal of pollutants in waste water, which makes it exhibit great potential in the field of environmental remediation. Hence, it is crucial to explore a new efficient and stable photo-Fenton catalyst driven by visible light. In this work, a simple two-step calcination method was used to synthesize sheet-like stacked Ultra-thin g-CN/FeOCl (CNF) materials.

Photocathodic protection is an economical and environmental metal anticorrosion method. In this research, we successfully synthesized the g-CN/GO (15 wt%)/MoS catalytic materials by a facile hydrothermal method. The results show that the as-prepared g-CN/GO (15 wt%)/MoS composites prominently enhanced photocatalytic activities for the photocathodic protection of 304 stainless steel (SS) compared with the corresponding pristine g-CN and MoS.

As one of the most important fundamental problems in protein sequence analysis, protein remote homology detection is critical for both theoretical research (protein structure and function studies) and real world applications (drug design). Although several computational predictors have been proposed, their detection performance is still limited. In this study, we treat protein remote homology detection as a document retrieval task, where the proteins are considered as documents and its aim is to find the highly related documents with the query documents in a database.
