Polythiophene-based nanoparticles (PTNPs), a prominent class of conjugated polymer nanoparticles (CPNs) with remarkable optical and electronic properties, have gained significant attention in applications such as electronics and bioimaging. However, current methods in generating PTNPs have run into obstacles including low variety of morphologies, poor reproducibility, and low preparation efficiency, restricting their further application. In this study, we report a facile and efficient fabrication strategy based on template synthesis method.

However, accurate delineation of viable and nonviable tissue is difficult with current technology. The aim of this pilot study was to develop and evaluate an indocyanine green (ICG)-based dynamic contrast-enhanced fluorescence imaging (DCE-FI) strategy to provide intraoperative, objective, real-time information on bone perfusion using an osteotomy model in patients undergoing lower-extremity amputation.

Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) and enterovirus A71 (EV-A71) are two major types of enteroviruses that pose emerging challenges to public health and have the potential to cause outbreaks, yet their pathogenic mechanisms remain largely unexplored. Arrestin domain containing 3 (ARRDC3) is a vital regulator of glucose metabolism, cancer development, and inflammation. Whether ARRDC3 contributes to innate antiviral immunity is undefined.

Gene therapy (GT) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) present promising approaches for cancer treatment. However, GT is frequently impeded by the lysosomal capture of nucleic acids, while PDT is constrained by low oxygen levels in tumors. Herein, we reported the design of a versatile block polyester vector, BFN, which comprises of a photosensitizer BODIPY (B), an oxygen carrying perfluorinated carbon chain (F) as well as a GSH-responsive, and RNA-condensing [12]aneN (N) moiety.

Although China's public health services have continuously contributed to early grass-roots diagnosis of diabetes for years, universally applicable tools for identifying latent high-risk elderly populations urgently need to account for heterogeneity, robustness, and generalizability. Therefore, this study developed and validated the integrated Chinese Adapted Risk Evaluation for Diabetes Mellitus (iCARE-DM) model for elderly Chinese individuals.

A defect of trophoblast invasion is closely associated with pregnancy complications, including miscarriage and preeclampsia. In this study, we investigated the function of chemerin in trophoblast invasion and artery remodeling and explored the underlying mechanism in this process.

Although the TyG (triglyceride-glucose) index serves as a sensitive marker for identifying insulin resistance, there is a lack of comprehensive evidence regarding whether its integration with obesity indices can enhance the predictive capacity for HF. This prospective cohort study is designed to explore the correlation between TyG indices in conjunction with obesity indices (TyG-body mass index, or TyG-BMI; TyG-waist circumference, or TyG-WC; TyG-waist circumference-to-height ratio, or TyG-WHtR) and the risk of HF.

However, an effective vaccine remains undeveloped. SIRT1, a nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+)-dependent enzyme, plays a key role in cellular metabolism, but its interaction with NAD+ during viral infections is not well understood.

Canmei Formula (CMF) has shown promising results in the prevention and treatment, however, it lacks effective clinical data support and its mechanism of action is not fully elucidated.
Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of CMF in preventing and treating CRA, and to explore its effective chemical components and pharmacological mechanisms.
Background: Patients who developed immune-related adverse events (irAEs) could benefit more from treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) than those who did not develop irAEs. This study was designed to assess whether the occurrence of irAEs or their characteristics are correlated with survival in advanced patients treated with ICIs.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study enrolled a panel of cancer patients who received ICIs at a single institute.
Purpose: Xixin Decoction (XXD) is a classical formula that has been used to effectively treat dementia for over 300 years. Modern clinical studies have demonstrated its significant therapeutic effects in treating Alzheimer's disease (AD) without notable adverse reactions. Nevertheless, the specific mechanisms underlying its efficacy remain to be elucidated.

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the frequency, treatment outcome, and predictors of DR in cancer patients with immune checkpoint inhibitors. We retrospectively collected clinicopathological data from a cohort of patients with cancer who received PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitor-based monotherapy or combination therapy at a single institution (developing cohort).

Predicting epidemic trends of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) remains a key public health concern globally today. However, the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) reinfection rate in previous studies of the transmission dynamics model was mostly a fixed value. Therefore, we proposed a meta-Susceptible-Exposed-Infectious-Recovered-Susceptible (SEIRS) model by adding a time-varying SARS-CoV-2 reinfection rate to the transmission dynamics model to more accurately characterize the changes in the number of infected persons.

Limited medical resources in these areas often results in underreporting of disease prevalence, masking the true extent of diseases. Taking the underdeveloped Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in China as an example, this study aimed to correct the underreported prevalence of hypertension and type 2 diabetes so as to provide inspiration for the allocation of medical resources in such areas.

The multivariate time series (MTS) model has been widely adopted for constructing cross-regional infectious disease transmission networks due to its strengths in interpretability and predictive performance. Nevertheless, the assumption of constant parameters frequently disregards the dynamic shifts in disease transmission rates, thereby compromising the accuracy of early warnings.

Introduction: Premature death is a global health indicator, significantly impacted by obesity, especially in young and middle-aged population. Both body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) assess obesity, with WC specifically indicating central obesity and showing a stronger relationship with mortality. However, despite known associations between BMI and premature death, as well as the well-recognized correlation between WC and adverse health outcomes, the specific relationship between WC and premature death remains unclear.

Background: Colorectal adenoma represents the critical step in the development of colorectal cancer. The establishment of an immortalized epithelial cell line of colorectal adenoma of human origin would provide a tool for studying the mechanism of precancerous lesions, screening the efficacy of novel drugs, and constructing in vivo disease models. Currently, there is no commercially available stable supply of epithelial cells from precancerous lesions.
