Background: Screening colonoscopy plays a critical role in reducing colorectal cancer incidence by identifying and removing polyps. Simple and safe treatment is the most common request of both doctors and patients. Cold snare polypectomy (CSP) is increasingly favored for polyps < 10 mm, yet concerns remain regarding residual tissue.

Green and low-carbon filling materials, primarily composed of dredged waste fills, are commonly used in the foundation of coastal highways. These materials possess high water content and under-consolidation characteristics, which can lead to differential settlement between piles and the surrounding environment. However, mechanical models of negative friction in piles within recycled dredged waste fills are insufficiently developed and presented.

Through the combination of the test results of remolded soil, compaction standards for each layer of the subgrade fill are established, and quality inspections of the compacted subgrade are performed. The experimental results demonstrate that the compression deformation of remolded loess exhibits a positive correlation with compaction degree and a negative correlation with moisture content.

The advantage of valveless micropumps, such as their simple structure, high reliability and low cost, have been investigated in comparison to valve-based micropumps. However, the flow pulsation and backflow effect of valveless pump can reduce the controllability and precision of the system.

To mitigate the suboptimal efficacy and safety concerns that constrain current adjuvants, novel formulations exhibiting enhanced safety and potency are required for development. Natural polysaccharides have been employed as vaccine adjuvants.

Severe ischemia-reperfusion injury, systemic inflammation, nutritional status, and organ dysfunction contribute to poor prognosis, highlighting the need for reliable prognostic markers for early risk stratification. Lactate and albumin are well known to be involved in these pathological processes, making them potential biomarkers for prognostic assessment.

The vacuolar-type H-ATPase (V-ATPase) has emerged as a promising molecular target for the development of new pesticides. In our previous work, we employed computer-aided drug design (CADD) strategies targeting the V-ATPase H subunit of the Mythimna separata. Through homology modeling, virtual screening, and lead compound synthesis, we successfully identified 4-propargyloxybenzenesulfonamide as a potent insecticidal compound.

Our recent studies showed that this approach was highly efficient in reprogramming human fibroblasts to hCiPS cells. However, generating hCiPS cells from human blood cells, which are the most accessible and convenient source for reprogramming, remains a challenge.

To address this challenge, we propose a low-complexity nonlinear compensation method based on a multi-task neural network (MT-NN), combined with a complexity-aware mean square error (MSE) and partial grid search optimization for coherent optical communication systems. The proposed framework exploits shared network weights to simultaneously process multiple symbols, thereby reducing redundant computations while maintaining compensation accuracy.

Previously reported IM/DD system linearization algorithms can improve their transmission performances, which are, however, sensitive to the band limitation effect. In this paper, for linearizing IM/DD fiber channels with severe power fading and band-limitation, we propose and evaluate numerically and experimentally a decoupled system linearization scheme called equalization-cascaded multi-constraint iterative algorithm (EC-MCIA) using decoupled, channel partial-aware adaptive digital filters and a multiple constraint iteration algorithm.

To enhance the DC and RF performance of AlGaN/GaN HEMTs, a novel device structure was proposed and investigated through simulation. The key innovation of this new structure lies in the incorporation of an AlInGaN back-barrier layer and an N-type locally doped AlGaN barrier layer (BD-HEMT), based on conventional device architecture. The AlInGaN back-barrier layer effectively confines electrons within the channel, thereby increasing the electron concentration.

Previous studies proposed the relationship between time perception and delay discounting in ageing, while there is a lack of evidence about the effect of different dimensions of time.
Method: This study explored the effect of delay length (1-day, 1-month, 6-month, 1-year, 5-year), time framing (delay, date) and time estimation (internal clock) on delay discounting in younger and older adults.
Purpose: This study aims to compare the safety and efficiency of modified biweekly CAPOX and conventional triweekly CAPOX in high-risk stage II and stage III post-surgery colorectal (CRC) patients.
Methods: From July 25, 2018, to May 14, 2021, high-risk stage II and stage III post-surgery CRC patients were randomized in the control triweekly group (intravenous infusion of oxaliplatin 130 mg/m2 on day 1 and oral capecitabine 1000 mg/m2, twice daily from day 1 to day 14) and the experimental biweekly group (intravenous infusion of oxaliplatin 85 mg/m2 on day 1 and oral capecitabine 1000 mg/m2, twice daily from day 1 to day 10). The primary endpoint was the incidence rate of thrombocytopenia.
Histone lactylation is involved in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) by transcriptional regulation of gene expression. YTH N6-methyladenosine RNA binding protein F2 (YTHDF2) is a N6-methyladenosine (m6A) "reader" that recognizes m6A methylation of mRNA and can be regulated by histone lactylation. This study aimed to investigate the role of histone lactylation in NSCLC and the underlying mechanism using in vitro experiments.

Current understanding remains constrained by insufficient theoretical exploration of AVP consolidation mechanisms, particularly regarding underdeveloped analytical frameworks. Therefore, this investigation establishes an analytical model for AVP-assisted consolidation incorporating attenuation of vacuum and boost pressure.

Furthermore, most biological ion channels in nature are characterized by negatively charged functional groups. To address this theoretical discrepancy, we conducted a comprehensive study that integrates experimental data with molecular dynamics simulations to explore the transport behavior of Mg²⁺ and Li⁺ through negatively charged NF membranes.

In this study, a new type of PCF-derived EA was developed by enzymatic hydrolysis using a combination of single-factor and response surface experiments. The flavor compounds were analyzed by gas chromatography‒mass spectrometry (GC‒MS), and the flavor-modifying effects on cigar tobacco leaves were validated.

Exploring the mechanisms underlying willingness to buy (WTB) will help us identify neural indicators for predicting the performance of innovative products. Using functional magnetic resonance imaging, we asked participants to view products created by combining two components, including high applicability new combinations (HANCs), which provide a novel and practical application; and low applicability new combinations (LANCs), which provide no additional value. First, we found that WTB generally involves activation of the parahippocampal gyrus.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), a chronic inflammatory gastrointestinal disease, is closely related to diverse inflammatory factors like reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) and cell-free DNA (cfDNA). Herein, tannic acid (TA) modified hafnium hydride nanosheets (HfH@TA NSs) with a thickness of 1-4 nm, prepared by liquid-phase exfoliation, were explored as a high-performance anti-inflammatory agent for IBD treatment. By virtue of the high specific surface area of two-dimensional structure, HfH@TA NSs can effectively not only scavenge RONS, but also eliminate cfDNA, thus inhibiting the pro-inflammatory responses.
