Background: In China, the "8+2" stroke risk score has been widely used to identify individuals at high risk of stroke, despite insufficient evidence confirming its predictive ability for stroke events.
Objective: We aimed to validate the risk score's ability to predict the risk of stroke within a 10-year timeframe in community cohort populations and to optimize the scoring method to improve its predictive accuracy.
Methods: By reviewing previous literature to obtain the parameters for constructing the logistic regression model and the Rothman-Keller model, the risk threshold points of the models were determined using a sample of 100,000 participants.
FLT3 protein kinase is a promising target for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and the development of this kinase inhibitor is highly desirable to overcome FLT3-positive AML. Herein, the bioactive predictions and screening were conducted based on our previous machine learning model in this work. Using ZY06 as a candidate, the design, synthesis and biological evaluation of a series of 4-(imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-3‑carbonyl) phenyl urea derivatives as novel FLT3 inhibitors were systematically investigated.

Unlike membrane-bound PD-L1, exosomal PD-L1 is systemically distributed and capable of suppressing T cell activity at distant sites. This review summarizes the current understanding of exosomal PD-L1 biogenesis, its immunosuppressive mechanisms, and its clinical relevance across multiple cancer types.

Heads-up computing aims to provide synergistic digital assistance that minimally interferes with users' on-the-go daily activities. Currently, the input modalities of heads-up computing are mainly voice and finger gestures. In this work, we propose and evaluate the AmplitudeArrow (AA) technique designed for on-the-go AR menu selection to demonstrate that consecutive simple head gestures can also be an effective input modality for heads-up computing.

Objective: The prevalence of acute myocardial infarction, a severe ischemic cardiac disease, is on the rise annually. The establishment of coronary collateral circulation in the border zone of the infarct can effectively relieve myocardial ischemia and impede cell death, while angiogenesis can promote the formation of collateral circulation in the ischemic tissues. Over the past two decades, studies related to angiogenesis in acute myocardial infarction have increased rapidly.

The extreme environmental conditions of the Qinhai-Tibetan Plateau (QTP) challenge livestock survival and productivity, yet little is known about how high-altitude environments impact the gut microbiota of dairy cows. To fill this gap, we systematically investigated the differences in the hindgut microbiome between 87 plateau Holstein cows and 72 plain Holstein cows using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Our analysis revealed that the hindgut microbiota of the plateau group exhibited lower species richness but higher evenness than that in the plain group.

Applying cellulose paper on the triboelectric material is the trend of developing eco-friendly triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG). However, the researchers always pay attention to improve the triboelectric property of cellulose paper by the grafting of functional groups and the introduction of conductive or high dielectric property materials, while neglecting the effects of lignocellulose fiber composition including hemicellulose and lignin. In this work, the contents of hemicellulose and lignin were adjusted by sodium hydroxide and sodium chlorite, respectively; and the effects of hemicellulose and lignin on the triboelectric performance of cellulose paper were evaluated.

Dyslipidemia has been established as a potential risk factor for venous thromboembolism (VTE) in several observational studies. Statins and novel lipid-modifying agents are being explored for their potential in VTE prevention, encompassing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and pulmonary embolism (PE). Nonetheless, conclusive evidence supporting the effectiveness remains uncertain.

To meet the stringent requirements of wearable and flexible electronics for functionality and comfort, it is urgent to develop green conductive, self-adhesive, and stretchable functional hydrogels. The chelates of transition metal ions and lignosulfonate sodium (LS) can impart multi-functionality to the hydrogel and significantly improve the hydrogel's gelation speed. However, the presence of metal ions may weaken the adhesiveness of hydrogels by shielding the functional adhesive groups.

The burgeoning online video game industry has sparked intense competition among providers to both expand their user base and retain existing players, particularly within social interaction genres. To anticipate player churn, there is an increasing reliance on machine learning (ML) models that focus on social interaction dynamics. However, the prevalent opacity of most ML algorithms poses a significant hurdle to their acceptance among domain experts, who often view them as "opaque models".
